Title is wrong. Not a ZL-1.
I like the outlook of the builder, as far as making it performance orientated, and the builders did a nice job. The car looks super clean, and straight. The shifter reminds me of Bill Jenkins S/S, Pro stock car, (almost 60 yrs ago), when he used a 3 speed shifter on his muncie, (4 speed), and a seperate lever for reverse. He ranted on how great it worked. In this video, not one mention of the eng. or drivetrain. Just the eye candy. Maybe some-one can right this wrong.
where in SoCal is this?
@@rickymcu Laguna Niguel
awsome hav raced there luv havasu
At what time is the race tomorrow Steve?
nice video but the music adds nothing but anoyance
Did the windshield uh move?
Engines with low vacuum can cause that wiper door to move a little sometimes.
Was this a K code? Didn’t hear that mentioned
I just bought a BEAUTIFUL ‘77 Black and Gold Trans-Am. It was born with the Olds 403,but now has an upgraded LS2 in it. I also have the Year One Snowflakes on her. I’ve wanted one of these ever since I was 10 years old after seeing “Smokey and the Bandit” for the first time. I STILL can’t believe that it’s in my garage! GREAT VIDEO! 🤠
KOOL KAR!!!
Fun car… gives me a couple ideas for my fastback

You have contact for work McGee motor sports what area??
I would be honored to be the new caretaker mustang. Let's elaborate $$numbers. God bless
What I would give for them to make a Porsche movie
😮😮
Dem tats need to go, also the snow plow on the front. ☠️🦨👀. Nice noise maker!
Changed the compression ratio to run on pump gas in California. WtF😅
Why wouldn't you? This isn't the REAL DEAL. It's a well done clone and it doesn't come especially cheap to build it. This guy did it because he wants to drive it. So what other what choice did he have? Meanwhile at 510 cubic inches and enough cam you're giving away nothing of the power you'd expect from a REAL ZL1 427. I'm betting this car makes a good deal more power than the "real deal" assuming it's got the roller cam and modern Aluminum head port work that is available these days. It's amazing to me how many people still regard the old school engines, in stock configuration, as "Killers". They once were but that was 50 years ago and time is a cruel mistress. The auction block will certainly appreciate your BONE STOCK all original engine in it's original car but in staying that way you also give up a ton of available power. Big inch BBC today often make double he power of back in the day. 600-800HP is super common and every once in awhile you come across the 1,000+HP NA BBC. 12.5 compression, flat mechanical lifter cams and un-ported aluminum heads from 1969 have ZERO CHANCE of coming even remotely close to what is considered DECENT Big Block Chevy power these days. To get these big numbers you need extra inches, better heads and a roller cam. In 1969 the only way to get a 427 into these numbers was with a "blower" on top and even with that 1,000 was pure race car stuff that would never be durable enough to considered for street use.
Id imagine race gas might get a little expensive!
Nothing quite like a big block with side pipes! 😝
The underhood aftermarket bracing could be purchased from Herb Adams' VSE company back in the day. He installed these as part of his "Fire Am" package.
Michael Thompson at McGee Motorsports did the drop A-arm mod on my '69...took most of the bump-steer right out of it...WHAT a difference.
You are desperately addressing the car to be as close to an original Shelby, with one huge mistake! Ford never called a Mustang Hardtop a "notchback". The notchback name is strictly Volkswagen. Hardtop... say it with me... Hardtop... Hardtop... Hardtop. You got now?
Common vernacular is to call them “notchbacks” … same with “fastbacks” as Ford called them “2+2s” … not worth getting so worked up over.
LOL, So they wouldn't let you weld it up to a better standard but they would alow you to fit Air con and put the steering wheel on the wrong side. Sounds a bit like an excuse to me........... The John Wyer Mk1 is the way to go though, MUCH nicer looking than the Shelby Mk2's. Love the tribute to John Wyer Automotive!!
Restomods are the best! Beautiful car.
New sub here. Love the 308 GTB. 👌👍🎥
Very nice! I was at that show but somehow managed to miss this GT40, your P3/4, and the 906!🤦♂️ There is just so much to see, you almost can’t see it all. Maybe this year.
"There are no longer any Ferrari P3s extant . . . "
I'll take one in right-hand drive please.
Oh great, how many of my tax dollars paid for those multi million dollar “Skunkworks” manufactured improvements??
Looks like gasmonkey version ??
That is a very nice car and very well kept. I would like to mention some of those parts like the chassis braces and rear battery mount and possibly the roll bar some of the things that Herb Adams (former Pontiac Engineer) design for the "Fire Am" He sold kits as well if one wanted to modify their own trans am back when these cars were new. He proved them by running a Trans Am in the 79 24 hrs of Daytona.
Wish I'd gone last year. I could've seen the Chaparrals.
No look at the mill? Dude!
Love the era of cars....hate the full face helmets....
I think I saw this car on the golf course in Fountain Hills Arizona at the car show, really nice 👍
The original wheels could have been recreated . I noticed the rims immediately.
50 million? Wonder what the monthly payment is?
"promo sm" 💔
Awesome.
WHERE did you "learn" to "shift"? Go back to gearbox 101!!!
I could have made this video a lot more interesting if I had been driving.
We didn't want to involve the police. ;)
I would have burned rubber in all four gears and powershifting at 7000 rpm for starters!!!🤣🤣🤣
