2024 Lexus IS500 1/4 mile run. All stock except for a muffler delete. 2.0 60ft 13.07 @ 110 mph. Sport+ in drive. This was my fastest run. I tried manually shifting it and couldn’t beat this time.

VTEC=STARTREK 😅
I have a 2.5 swap in my 04 Mazda 3, about 2800lbs. Not bad in that chassis but definitely want more
it faster than my 3.6 charger enforcer... (i think)
Do you just use the vfr ignition system or the magna? With the extra rpms of the vfr setup
@@justinlenart3187 I installed a vfr ignition control unit and wired in Honda cbr ignition coils to run coil on plug since I couldn’t find space to Mount the original vfr coils.
I Prefer Full Drive mode! 0-60 time, by the way?
4-5 ish
I recorded like 4.75~ or so.
It blew up after the video
About 13 seconds for towing over 4,000 pounds plus a 2k pound trailer?? Impressive!
I read this in Project Farm’s voice 😂
Buddy, I do believe you are the only one that has posted anything about the Base Tundra. How has it treated you? Thank you.
It is a fantastic truck. I was able to drive the sr5 and the sr when I bought this and the sr felt plenty powerful enough and I didn’t feel like I needed any of the extra options the sr5 has. I would have preferred to have the integrated brake controller and a locking rear diff but I haven’t really had the need for those after 2 years and 50,000 miles. I’d buy another one in a minute.
@@JBuehrer18154 ever since Toyota revealed the new Tundra, I've been sold. I don't if I'll ever buy one, but this it what we should've got in 2014. Personally, I've never cared for the older tundras. I've always felt that they were over-hyped. I know that internet hates that TT-V6, but it was time for something new. I don't know if you know, there is recall for failing 1st main baring due to 'metal shaving debris.' I'm sure Toyota will figure it out. Nothing is perfect in the world. I think as time goes on the new TNGA platform will prove to be well worth the investment. The Tundra SR is a pretty good value for what it offers. (Same for the new Tacoma) I agree with you that I don't see the need to get an SR5. The price jump for both the Tundra and Tacoma is 4800 bucks from SR to SR5. That is a little unreasonable, In my opinion. I don't care for that at all. Also, I don't like all the different color plastic on higher trims. The SR looks good with near all-black trim pieces. And steel wheels! I hope for another 50,000 for you!
About 7 seconds sweet
Mine does it in 5
@@MidnightV6 I would like to see that
2nd gear is so long. If they programmed it to be shorter i think it would be in the late 6's
The needle looks like a gavril scout 😅
Why so many lights on?
There are only three lights on PCS, Auto Stop/Start and Traction control
I have a theory that ford nerfed the 2.5L in the 2013 and up years to make the Ecoboost engines look better, in older models the 2.5 was faster.
The 2013-up are heavier.
@@MrCliffda3rd yes, but the older ones revved higher and just seemed more eager IDK
9 second 20-60 😴
What benefit is there? You appeared to have used the magna heads
It makes a bit more power compared to a stock magna and it sounds different that’s about it and thats really all I wanted. It was a fun and pretty easy project and I’d do another one for sure.
@@JBuehrer18154 I did notice the difference in sound and I do like it myself as well. What I'm curious about now is if I can just take the six-speed gearbox and just put it straight in my magnet everything else. Cuz I'm good with leaving the magnet as is but I would like the six speed gearbox
That's the best sounding crv I've heard yet
Not bad at all for a base model truck, about 6.6 seconds
I think the tundra needs a 140 mph speedometer
Brings back memories of my grandfather's 94 Gulf stream. Sounds exactly like it
Damn that’s the exact spec tundra I want
It's pretty fast like 6 sec
Lame asf
there was a v-tec crossover but I wouldn't call that loud

So that is the de-tuned 3.5? Looked good to me! I’m not looking for a race car but a truck that will last.
What’s exhaust it that?
It was a supertrapp exhaust. Long out of production and very hard to find unfortunately.
@@JBuehrer18154 I was able to find some Jardine but needed some weld and had them ceramic coated.
Hi dear, what diameter are those mufflers ?? Will put them on my dad's '06 Grand Marquis, they sound good and so quiet !!
So god damn slow
Is it really supposed to be fast
honestly decent speed for that generation crv, my parents own a 2014 Crv and it’s been great
what do you expect from a crossover ;p
@@jonlo5540 not this. Tf
@@randomautonomousdronepilot33840-60 in 8 seconds? Seems pretty average lmao tf?
In economy mode too 😮
Transmission shift like shit tho
yea its a pretty old transmission. idk why they didn't put their 9 speed thats also in the malibu in this thing, it would shift faster, be faster, and have better mpg
The car was in manual mode
This was in the low 6 seconds. It's got some power.
By far best thing about 2.5L is not have to deal with turbos and it’s by far best sounding when chop muffler haha. It’s also the slowest and can’t tune. And even CAI isn’t worth unless know only for Induction sounds haha
Livernois has tuning for it.
The induction sounds stock even are so delightful - I did a 0-100…mph…Mexico lol and was 27seconds LOL but sounds were nice
I love how it has a short third gear it’s perfect from highway pulls around 60-70
Same for my Camry 2.5, but you don’t even need 3rd with my 2015 Avalon 4th gear will slide right up to speed if you’re already going 30 mph or faster
9 seconds from 0-62mph, try with sport transmission which can be faster
8 seconds from 0-62mph, good for a SE trim
so satisfied with v-tech sound at 5k rpm, (you will get better result if u turn off the econ mood)
What did the machining on the block for the timing cams cost if you dont mind me asking?
I didn’t have to machine the block. I just used the vfr block and bolted Magna heads onto it. Much easier that way. No matching no drilling nothing. Just install the vfr springs, retainers and cams into the magna heads then bolt those onto a vfr block and let her rip.
so if you take the airbox lid off it just gets louder?
is this a drop-in cabin k&n air filter...?
Ryan Hughes no this was a k&n cold air intake system
JBuehler dang it, my fusion of same year/trim has ~117k miles. feels like the transmission is struggling. how do i know if its about to kick the can?
@@ryanh4699 it is. mine had 102k and it slipped hard so i took it in just to see what was wrong and they had to replace the transmission.
gavin rulli how do i know when its gonna die soon? how much did it cost you?
@@ryanh4699 2nd to 3rd was really long and rough and you can just feel it. I got it rebuilt and now its a little better but still not like new.
About the same as a 2008 F250 with the 5.4 overhead cam.
Yeah, but 300x more reliable
@@LandonJP07 honestly in my experience, they’re both reliable. But the modular engines are a bit easier to keep running thanks to COP and MPI. The 5.8 suffers from issues with the ICM failing and still uses a Duraspark distributor which I’m getting ready to change out for aftermarket. The 351w would greatly benefit from modern ignition and fuel systems. Mine is luckily carbureted but still requires a carb rebuild once in awhile. Carbs also require a lot of tuning and patience to get consistent performance. The 5.4, get in and drive.
Vtec at 5000 rpms🥰
Strong running truck 👍👍👍
How many seconds
Michael Jones about 7
Hmm, sounds good! Maybe I should get a simular setup on my 2000 Grand Marquis! With the stock exhaust it is like a fucking hybrid, absolutley no sound 😂
Lol that sound nice
About 9 seconds. Not bad for a heavy old truck with a 3 speed auto and a small block.
V-tec kicked in about 5 rpms
