What the Shadow Keep DOESN'T TELL YOU
Просмотров 1,7 тыс.2 месяца назад
The Shadow Keep in Shadow of the Erdtree is more imposing than pretty much everything in Elden Ring, but the secrets inside of it might just be the coolest thing about it. Because even though the world of the Land of Shadow requires a ton of exploration to get to new areas and regions, a bunch of these pathways are actually hidden within the Shadow Keep itself, and requires more exploration and...

Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree is finally here, and wouldn't you know it, this thing hits hard af. I wanna give a massive shoutout to @FantasyLofi for letting me use their excellent lofi tracks as background music for the video, make sure to check them out and give my Swedish brothers a sub :) This might be one of the toughest Souls-experiences I've played, but damn if it hasn't been amazing....

Why Final Fantasy IX Remains a Human Masterpiece in 2024
Просмотров 50 тыс.7 месяцев назад
Why does Final Fantasy 9 hit different all these years later? It's been well over 20 years since FF9 launched on PlayStation, but it's managed to remain a constant in my gaming habits. It's vast world and charming art design is partly why I return to it, but the game's human story and characters, and themes surrounding existentialism, is something few other games have tackled as well, and certa...
Was Palworld Ever Worth It? Review After the Hype
Просмотров 4,2 тыс.7 месяцев назад
Palworld has taken the gaming world by storm in the past few weeks, selling millions of copies and managing to maintain millions of concurrent players on Steam. But despite garnering a ton of praise, the response hasn't been universally positive - in fact, it's become quite controversial. With accusations of plagiarism and stolen assets, or even use of AI or copying, many have an axe to grind w...
Do You Even Remember The Witcher 3's Most Legendary Quest?
Просмотров 5608 месяцев назад
The Witcher 3 has so many amazing quests and experiences to dive into, but one questline in particular continues to stand out for me - Broken Flowers. It's been almost a decade since The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt released (I know, right?), and yet, I feel the exact same way every time I arrive in Novigrad to play it. Because so much of the Witcher 3's starting region of Velen (not counting White Orch...
The art in FF9 is festive. Like the artist's hand is itchy seeing the wall without ornaments or discolouration. So it's never boring to look at. For me ipsen castle is the most "bland" because it lacks "that"
Bro, which ff7 version was that that you shown on 1:58?
Until FF7 the series had leaned hard into stage performance as its core mode of storytelling, specifically opera. FF7 and 8 worked very hard to be more cinematic, but 9 pulled back and showed what's only possible in that medium. Despite a handful of flaws (mostly fixed by the Moguri mod) it's always a contender for my favorite game in the series.
FF6, FF7, and FF9
Hmm very interesting mod. Need to check that out. I love the seamless coop but it felt way to easy and a lot of the combat experience was lost when I compare it to my SP experience.
When this game came out i was the only one of my friends to have played it and it immediately became my favorite game ever. And its not until adulthood i found communities of people who share the love for this game like i did
What makes this game special for me is how beautiful it is in its simplicity, and how human. Where its contemporaries often had a more bombastic approach, this one felt more down to earth and personal, even during climactic scenes. I'm fairly certain Sakaguchi said this is his favorite, and it SHOWS. Literally everything about it oozes love. I think other games are more outwardly emotional like FF6 and FF10 or more 'epic' like FF7 so they get more buzz, but even as a FF6 truther I think this is the series peak. Characterization is top notch without being as trope reliant as other entries. Themes are approached subtly despite the quirky sense of humor. The visuals are among the best of its generation, and the music... well, let's just say it's also Uematsu's favorite for a reason. It's one of the very few works of fiction I'd go as far as to call a masterpiece. It's also the only one where I cried uncontrollably at the end despite not feeling sad, just... overwhelmed. I could NOT stop. Hadn't happened before, hasn't happened since. Its juxtaposition between childlike whimsy and mature storytelling is unmatched.
9’s aight. Not my favorite
My favorite in the series by far
The part that scared me as a teenager lol back on the ps3 was when the heartless attack the island at night and Sora’s wooden wood doesn’t hurt them at all! This is one of my favorite games 😭
9’s ending always makes me cry whenever I play it.
I just got it for 8$
Yes butt I can finish all other final fantasies completely in the time it takes to start a random battle in 9.
KH1 opening sequence bring back such visceral memories and feelings for me every time I go back. And I never really thought about the ‘why’ since I always associated it with nostalgia. You made a simple and clean point, it has heart. Simple and Clean is soothing and warms you. The intro pulls you in because even without dialogue it focuses on the emotional connections of the characters and themes of the game through poetic visual storytelling so you immediately start the game already feeling welcomed home. The tonal shift and ambiance in the dive to heart sequence is unlike any tutorial in other games because it feels personal. (spoilers?) King Mickey isn’t just talking to Sora in the beginning, it feels like he’s also coaching you the person. The lessons learned in the game also apply to real life. “The closer you get to the light the greater your shadow becomes” is an incredible statement for your game journey and journey in the real world. I played this as a teen in high school and this game felt like a stepping stone to also navigating a different world as an adult in the next few years. KH feels personal because it stays true to the heart of the series, which its ability and desire to connect and play at your heart strings.
Well put! It's an incredible intro that I'm certain will resonate will people if the give a try and enter with an open heart.
I play this game every couple years for a quarter century now. No matter the console, no matter the stage of life. This masterpiece just brings me so much joy and introspection. I can't praise it enough.
New Morguri Mod update is Awesome. check it ooooouuuuttttt.
What does the update do??
Ironically, "Kingdom Hearts" kinda drained my faith in humanity for a time, but then "Legacy of Kain", "Evangelion", "Serial Experiments Lain", "Madoka Magica" and "Drakengard" got it back. Because the truth is, tragedy can bring hope. Hope of change. Radical change and justified payback. "Kingdom Hearts" ever since 2...justifies gaslight and gives that illusion the world's time is meaningless through the power of friendship.
KH is actually the best 'get together' game that ever exists. While most others will just be a fighting games with a story of protags from different stories getting teleported to another dimension and are forced to fight to the death. KH has its own very unique story with original characters while still integrating Disney and Final Fantasy characters into the story. Excellent gameplay, music and art directions. Nothing else is quite like it.
FF VII and IX have always been my favorites. I just started a new run on IX. Just to see how the mobile port flows. In the beginning, with my tablet and A50, both 7 years old, movies lagged (at first). Later on cut scenes flowed very well.
The actual gaming, no problem!!
I'm going to continue on and test a few older mobile...I am on a mission to make an emulator from a Dell Optiplex. These are my tests.
NEED more. This is that good KH content
already working on more, my friend, please subscribe to stay updated :)
It's not a kid's game. Just cus it's got Disney characters and you were 11 doesn't mean it was made for kids. Us adults at the time were excited about such a weird combination. Same issues with animation in the west. *sigh*
it was slightly meant as a joke, but also that it indeed was intended for kids and up - of course everyone can enjoy it, heck, the game means even more when you're an adult and can actually analyze these things and why they work
Imagine if the giant shadow was Sora’s mom but he was blinded by the darkness. Otherwise why the giant heartless have long looking hair 🤔
Now that’s frightening
I just don’t have the same attraction as you and so many others. My first entry was VIII when it was brand new - that led to a sprint to VII. The wait for IX was excruciating and it failed to deliver. I’ve played it several times over the years, genuinely trying to connect with it and I just can’t. Much of the individual’s stories within the story can be interesting - don’t get me wrong - but how, when and why they’re all being told to be at once never meshed. Every character is so darn special. It just isn’t relatable. I don’t care about what’s going on - don’t understand why I should. It tries to pay homage to what made the series so great and ends up shitting on the ones brave enough to move forward. Made X’s push for progress welcome relief. I wanted new, something I hadn’t seen already. Yet still with an idea that was familiar. Maybe I’m alone on this - I know so many that adore it. Which is fine, but I wish I didn’t have to hear about it all the time.
Yes give me more
I always thought they should have stuck with the Sora, Kairi and Riku love triangle storyline instead of doing what they did. That way they could have expanded on Kairi's character development more.
I would love to see more of these for the KH series, it gets so dark in each game
loved this serie when i was a kid!!! still do! that, final fantasy, shadow hearts, super mario, rogue galaxy, zelda games, pokemon, dark cloud and dark chronicle.
Nomura actually said his aimed target audience are mature audiences.
I wanted to play this again 😭😭😢
Kh2 please!
I use to daydream about this intro all the time i avoided puddles so i wouldn't fall into other realms
What kids series doesn’t include death and destruction?
the way you are over analyzing every little detail in kingdom hearts is how i do as well. like i love how silent the scenes are sometimes with just the actors talking
that's not over-analyzing, that's just called having good taste in direction and writing ;)
This game definitely does have heart…
someone had to say it
This Game showed me another world as kid.
in fact more than just one world
Kairi’s goofy laugh really made an otherwise unfortunate somewhat brighter thanks. And wonderful video as well.
FF7 and then FF9 the two best in the series, IMO
Riku lowkey offered Sora the fruit and when Sora rejected it, it set off the rest of the events.
I never thought about this actually - Destiny Islands - a tropical paradise - can be considered a Garden of Eden. But in this case, even though Kairi could be seen as an easy "Eve", it's almost like Riku is Eve, tempting Sora to take the easy path and accept being swept away. Instead he chose not to - is still tossed out of Eden - and now he has to fight hordes of demons to even try to set things straight.
Well with the rhythm game out, turns out kairi is like an eve because her being sent here at a young age as a Princess of light was in theory going to be harassed by darkness eventually and a keyblade bruv would rise. So her being here is why the island gets destroyed? @@AndyMeetsFantasy
The best part is the second game does the same opening essentially and just makes it far better
Storywise yes. Gameplay wise no. The second game just made it a tedious overly long tutorial.
@@Drums_of_Liberation nah was a fun intro. And far better than the little scavenger hunt and jank race. The 1v1s are also better in kh2 tutorial obviously.
Simple and clean is tragically ironic considering the series is anything but
lmao true
Idk ff9 near the end is pretty mental ngl
yes plz do all the games
This whole game series is awesome. The gameplay sound an mucic are some of the best especially for the time the game came out. Great video btw 👌 👍
thank you so much!
This video is crazy high quality, idk why you don’t have more subscribers
These are the comments I live for 🙏
You might as well go ahead and make a video for every hour of this game. Sure sometimes it gets cheesy and the whole concept of the franchise is to sell concentrated fan service to 90s kids... but every Disney world and FF character was carefully woven in the game's overarching plot. KH1 has managed to infuse every step of its story with a sense of oneirism, wonder and strangeness that perfectly echoes what childhood feels like. KH2's famous prologue was a great follow up to this, voluntarily placing the player in a confusing position that reflects that of young teenagers: it might be interesting to have a video tackling the first few hours of KH2, as they remain unfairly low in the overall player base's estime.
I will definitely make a video on KH2s intro ;)
I would love to see the conversation Sora had with his mom when he finally returned to Destiny Islands in KH2 lmao
“I SAID DINNER’S READY, SORA”
He didn’t, Riku found a bottle and they went right to their mark of mastery. It annoys me that the family was forgotten when BBS, a prequel game made after KH2 mentions Sora’s dad meaning they were still in the thoughts of the devs
@@taputrainer8463I guarantee you the Lost Master's Arc will explore Sora's and everyone else's family/families. Genealogies, family, and one's heritage has become more and more of a common theme in the story as of late. Not to mention, involving a monarchy as in the case of Verum Rex ("True King"), inherently means the story must explore family trees. This story has not yet broken my trust with exploring known mysteries and unanswered questions, so I'm patient and optimistic that Nomura has an answer for what happened to Sora's mom at the very least.
@@taputrainer8463 There was a time skip that happened between their return and getting the bottle, 6 months I believe, and that would be plenty of time to reunite with their families, why do their parents have to actually show up?
I never thought about this but I wonder if their parents thought they died when the island was destroyed? I suppose Kairi must have cleared things up when she returned.
You are so true dude, those pre rendered background PS1 era make places in game memorable. I play this modern FF, rarely remember anything.
Now let’s get a review of the first hour of kingdom hearts 2🤣🤣
oh I am planning on it, don't you worry :D
Oh hey, this video looks familiar ;) I'll say again, a game combining my two greatest obsessions as a child, Disney and Final Fantasy, absolutely blew me away as a kid. The cheesiness I might see in the series now was formative as a kid - the sense of loyalty and love this game displayed remains a part of me today.
Thanks for watching, I wanted to try again to see if anything would change :) Thing about cheesiness - it's not cheesy if it's real. And that I think is the difference to me between KH1-KH2, and KH3. KH1-2 felt real, felt like they had something to say about people, friends, fears, hopes and ambitions. 3 to me just feels like a childish mangled mess, which indeed does feel super cheesy way too often.
Nice vid
