Definitely want to mount that closer to your vents exit
Nice install man. So call me an idiot, but did you just use tape to install the 6" duct elbow? Genuine question, I'm going to be doing all of this soon and just trying to be on top of what I am getting myself into.
Thanks guys, this was super useful!
Great video i'll be doing this. A little top with the hole saw, start your cut off in reverse and it will score it then when you go forward its much easier and doesn't catch.
I was looking for a method to stop the screws from moving when the belt is put back on.
You should get a 3-stage carbon filter box to neutralize the caustic fumes before you vent the exhaust to the outside.
I just ordered my inline fan, it will arrive today. Thank you for your video it answered a couple of my questions about it. I am excited to start my laser. How is your laser journey so far?
What's the point of the block? Is it just using something uniform in size to check distance on all sides?
I ordered thinking how to bring into the house
Hi it is possible to remove the wheel frame? Thanks
Hey! How’s the laser going? I was thinking of purchasing this machine
Just a tip - you want the fan to be further from the laser. You want the fan to be pulling the air out of the laser rather than pushing it to the exit.
Why take the old one out instead of running both in series or just disabling it? Does the old one cause a restriction?
Yes..
@@BellyUpFishGarage my HVAC guy said a system will only vent as much as the smallest fan. So remove the smaller fan.
Just fired up my omt 60 watt and it seems it's exhaust leaks between the factory flanges...
I grabbed some foam tape with the adhesive backing and put it where the gaps were. Works pretty good!!
@@mericalaser3931 I considered that option. Out of the box I've been quite pleased how it's performed.
Do you have to have the vent hole so high up on the wall? Why couldn't you do it closer to the laser?
Hi Amy, not necessarily, in my case I have my neighbors front porch beside me. So in order to not blow smoke into there direction if it was windy I went higher. I’ve seen them low medium and high! Hope this helps
Are you only using that fan and no air compressor at all? I’m getting mine set up
Hi Whitney, fan only for extraction of smoke. I’ve set up a larger air compressor for the air assist. Make sure you attach a dryer to keep the moisture from your unit!! I’ll do a video soon on the set up Fairly simple but important! Have fun!!
Can you cut a 1/2 inch acrylic with your machine?
Hey, great question I myself haven’t tried 1/2 but general rule is 10W of laser power per 1 mm of sheet thickness (maximum thickness being 20-25 mm). 1/2 = 12.7mm
keep posting
Where is the exhaust going to? Outside or just in the inside of the wall?
You can see sunlight 4:16 and on
Hahahahahah
Novice here but why do you need to take out the internal fan? Does it matter since they are blowing in the same direction anyways?
You'll want to remove the stock fan. It will actually block airflow..
great video thank you!
what a tiny hammer. looks like it came from a kid's tool box.
Great observation!! Perhaps maybe it’s not a small hammer, just big hands ;)
I have the Orion 100W laser with Lightburn software. Recently it has started having problems engraving letters. It starts a letter, completes it half way and then jumps to a different place to finish that letter. It does a perfect job cutting/engraving lines moving left to right and front to back. Any idea where my problem is = software of laser?
I have the Orion 100w laser and recently it has started engraving a letter and when half way through it moves to another position to complete the letter. Is there a manual available to help trouble shoot problems?
I haven’t found one but if you haven’t figured it out yet I’m willing to help troubleshoot
Perhaps a 'grouping' problem in your software? You need to group your letters as one after any editing or the software may think its multiple, seperate vectors. Rdworks certainly has this issue. Also check the cut priority for your vectors and it may just be a simple case of making sure all the cut vectors for your letters are together in the list insttead of all over the place.
Does this have a pass through slot?
Hi Michelle yes it does! The red door that you see with the two white clips on. That’s the pass trough door. One on the back as well.
@@briankucherepa1475 Awesome thank you!
Is this from the OMTech website? 20x28 bed? If so, I just ordered one!
Hi I think you have bigger problems than the bed level if you have to run round the cut TWICE with a supposed 100 watt laser. My guess is that if you look at your tube it will be labeled KHLaser? Hmmm, that will not be good news. With your 2" lens and 80 watts ( what your tube really is ) you should easily cut through 3mm MDF in ONE pass at more than 30mm/s Best wishes Russ
I can confirm. Our laser cutter does about the same.
Agree! My glowforge cuts out 1/4" with 45w in 1 pass. I have a 80w being delivered this week and I sure hope it does not require 2 or more passes to cut out 1/8" material. By the way SarbarMultimedia, I find your videos very helpful and informative!
@@MakingLemonadeCreations Hi Tammy 1/8"" birch ply should easily cut at 30mm/sec or more in ONE pass with 80 watts. It all depends on where you bought your tube. The market is flooded with "good value" factory rejects that work but do not deliver the specified rated power. The first test I would perform is a mode burn as in this video. It is the only way to check the performance of your laser beam. ruclips.net/video/R6Wqn5-HMzM/видео.html Best wishes Russ
I'm with @SarbarMultimedia. I have a somewhat abused 60W chinese red and black and it cuts 3mm like a knife through butter. More wrong than just the bed level.
Same blower I used with my 60 Watt Yellow and black, does a good job, does an even better job when I open a door to let air in. You might want to swap your 15 and 20 amps, the laser doesn't use hardly anything compared to the compressor.
Good thing you had your safety glasses on your forehead. Can’t be too careful! Lol
Haha, I still have two eyes but only one hair left. Priorities my friend..
I bought the same laser cutter, I did not find any instructions on what distance to set the laser tube from the mirror frame, what did you do?
I called omtech and they said it doesnt really matter. Anywhere from .5-1.5inch
Thanks, this was easy to follow. It definitely helps to have a second person. :-)
Start large hole saws in reverse, then go forward
I am considering the 60 watt version of this same laser cutter, so I will be watching your videos as you proceed with this adventure. Thanks for sharing.
Did the wall mount come with the inline fan? Looking forward to your other video
Hey KC yup complete kit. At the 4:55 mark I took apart the in-line fan to show how to access the bracket! Super easy and powerful!! Let me know if you have anymore questions.
@@briankucherepa1475 perfect, waiting for my laser and inline fan to arrive I was shocked to hear how quiet it was very helpful, ty
Exactly what I was looking for! Thanks for making such a helpful video.
Great to hear!!
