A Response To Richard McCook's 10 Final Questions For VC Video Makers
Le seul coffret de magma que je ne possede pas seulement je n ai pas dit mon dernier mot merci pour le partage 😊❤
Vous en avez vraiment besoin 😁! Merci d'avoir regardé.
Well, I insist on being called The Great Hedley from now on. Although it does make me sound like a magician. Glad to hear you're feeling a bit better after your gardening incident. In general I try to avoid gardening, unless it involves some sort of powered impliment. That said the new hedge trimmer has yet to be used in anger. However the weed buring flamethrower gets regular useage.. I like burning things 😁 Like others I like the sound of Annelies Monseré. I did think about getting the vinyl, but it seems to be quite a short album, so I reckon I might just get the download. It kind if reminded me if the last Shovel Dance Collective album, The Water is the Shovel of the Shore. Their second album, The Shovel Dance, which came out last week, is looking like being my album of the year. Joe Hollick sounded good as well. Glad you liked Will The Circle Be Unbroken. It really is a fabulous record. It's really down to Earl Scruggs that the project came together. His kids, Randy and Gary, introduced him to the music the young country rock bands and artists were producing. He invited the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band to guest on an album, which also included Linda Ronstadt, Arlo Guthrie, Tracy Nelson, and it was that experience which got him on board. He then encouraged his old school contemporaries to join the project. Some of them were very wary of being involved with a bunch of long-hairs, especially Roy Acuff. It's a shame that Bill Monroe refused to be involved, but that might've also been because of his animosity towards Scruggs for leaving his Blue Grass Boys years before. I love some of the conversations you hear, especially the chat between Merle Travis and Doc Watson, where Watson tells Travis he named his son after him. I've got the two sequels. The second is on vinyl, but has a bit too much 80s production and sound, and some pop artists like John Denver and Bruce Hornsby and the Range. The third, which is only available on CD, is a return to form and well worth a listen. I love the painting on the cover of the new Richard Thompson album. It's almost worth buying on the strength alone. Cheers - The Great Hedley
You'll always be The Great Hedley to me sir! Don't think I could be trusted with a flamethrower - it wouldn't just be the weeds that would burn but probably the whole neighbourhood! Especially as I've just had another garden incident - slipped on a batch of wet leaves and fell on the steps leading up to the back lawn and hurt my foot and knee - thinking I shouldn't even go near the garden! Never heard of the Shovel Dance Collective - intrigued - will check them out. Will The Circle Be Unbroken is superb - it was my first exposure to bluegrass back in the day. Thanks for the additional background. Shame about the 2nd collection - not a fan of 80s production at the best of times, but it definitely wouldn't suit this type of music. Meant to mention the artwork on the Thompson album - the artist is one Michael Dicken. Went to the Kendal record fair on Saturday and what should I find but a copy of the Ship album you showed recently. It was in the £5 bin but got it for free as I bought a couple of other albums from the seller. So just like the Ros Bif I'd never heard of them before you mentioned them and then I go and find the album - thank you! All the best Your humble servant... Pete
Folk is a genre that i seldom listen to.
@@vinylrichie007 Ah then you're missing out on a lot Richie 😁
Hi Pete, Sorry to hear about health problems, but happy to hear you got some resolved. I hear you on falling behind on videos. With cooler weather and and less work travel for a bit, it's time to catch up. Lovely with some folky material. It fits well with autumn somehow. The Richard Thompson album I will explore further. With your love of folk and other music, I would be curious if you would enjoy the new Kanaan album that they have done jointly with a folk/ neofolk group Ævestaden with Norwegian and Swedish folk influences. Still with elements you might expect from Kanaan. Otherwise, I am looking forward to the next Actionfredag album coming soon now on the a Marxe label. Great to see a video from you again. Take care, Richard
Hi Richard, I'm OK now thanks - it's just old age catching up with me 😁. I'm glad you found something you liked in the video - the Richard Thompson is a really good album. I've got the Kanaan and Ævestaden on order along with one of Ævestaden's own albums. I'll have to keep an eye out for the new Actionfredag album - really enjoyed their first one. Hopefully the next video will contain some stuff you like as it's all going to be jazz rock / fusion. Take care... Pete
@@soundsfromthewestcoast9939 I would be curious to hear what you think of Ævestaden. I have not explored them. I will be adding the Thompson CD to next Amazon order. I always like some inspiration for more jazz rock and fusion!
@@vinylizingprogger just seen that Elephant9 have a new double album out on the 25th with Terje Rypdal - worth getting do you think 😁
@@soundsfromthewestcoast9939 Yes, very much so! Must have. I think Rune sold out of vinyl pretty quick, at least on direct order. I know one of my dealers here ordered some in, and I will be there as soon as I see it. I happened to spot that Ultima Thule ordered. I am following a bit as I have been buying Audion and put in some bucks on the French prog book.
Hello Pete Glad you feel healthier even I had not quite understood the beginning of your video and what happened to you because this time and I don't know why, I didn't have the help of the you tube subtitles I usually get for words or sentences I don't understand. Anyway glad you enjoyed Melusine, for my part with the help of the extracts you accompanied your explications I discovered many artists I never heard before like the Belgian Annelis Monseré or the swedish Garmana I specially like when the groups sing on their own language but also Richard Thompson,Michael Chapman ,Incredible string band ,Apaloosa or the Decemberists.I'm not very familiar with the Folk and Bove all new and contemporary music and on this video I heard very beautiful unknown artists. and About Nitty gritty band I have only two Lps and as you I look after this live album for years as I look after Steeleye Pan but never see one. Thanks for making me traveling in music and hope you will get healthier.
Hi Gerard - apologies I forgot to switch on the closed captions when I uploaded the video. I also forgot to put subtitles on the needle drops which caused some problems too! I am much better now thank you. Thank you for the Melusine recommendation, I really enjoyed them and will be keeping an eye out for more of their albums. I'm glad you liked Annelis Monseré and Garmana - I'm with you I much prefer when artists sing in their own language (even if that means I don't understand what they are singing - the human voice is just another instrument in that case). The other artists are all well worth checking out. It's a shame that you struggle to find some Steeleye Span, they've always been an excellent band and are still producing great music to this day (though with a very different line-up). Take care... Pete
Hi, dear Pete, what a great program. I am amazed on how many records you have. I have been collecting French Folk Rock and Folk music for a long time. I will be traveling to London on the 20th of October, can you gime me some names of good stores around England where I can find some good folk music? Thanks, I enjoy everything you have posted.
Hi Luis, thank you for your kind words. I live in the far north of England where we have hardly any record stores unfortunately, and it's a long while since I've been down to London. Folk music can be a niche genre but most record shops should have a folk section. For London try a search on RUclips for London record stores - there are quite a few videos with recommendations that you might find useful - hopefully some of these will have good 2nd hand sections where you may find some good folk music. I hope you enjoy your trip. Regards... Pete
@@soundsfromthewestcoast9939 Thanks Pete!
Sorry to hear you've been through it Pete but glad you are feeling better now. I approach this video with trepidation as I'm supposed to be reigning in the purchases. Would you share the details for the Mer album by Anneliese please, as I must have the spelling wrong? I think the Joe Hollick album was my other new favourite...cheers Dale
@@gatefold33 Thanks Dale. Everyone is asking about the same album - Annalies Monsere's Mares. Meant to put artist name and album title under each needle drop but forgot. The album was available on the label's Bandcamp page (Horn of Plenty) but is now sold out - they do have the new one though. But don't despair Amazon do have it - get spending!
Hi Pete. Keep away from gardening - it’s obviously not good for you! Great to see what you’ve added to your overflowing inbox. I was wondering if ‘Rosbif’ had any connection with roast beef and then you put me out of my misery. I saw Hedley show that Sourdurent record... Very much liked the sound of that La Mer record (and its cover art.) Reminded me a bit of Dungeon Synth. Love the cover artwork on the Michael Chapman LP too. August Gilde seems to be a fine discovery. Having a few days break in Allonby next week so will be calling in to the Vinyl Cafe shop in Carlisle. Looking forward to it. Take care, John.
Hi John, absolutely I should keep away from gardening! I'm at that age where my mind still thinks I can do what I did 20 years ago without consequence, but my body knows better 🤣. Rob also showed the Sourdurent album in his last video. I should probably try and check out some of the main guy's solo stuff. I unfortunately forgot to put the names and titles below the needle drops, especially for the foreign titles. The Belgian lady is Annelies Monseré and her album is called 'Mares'. Most of the tracks do include her vocals - she does a haunting version of Sally Free And Easy on the album. Hope you enjoy your break, and good luck in Vinyl Cafe - hope you find some interesting stuff there. All the best... Pete
Thanks for the info on the Mares album. Did you say it was available on Bandcamp, Pete?
It was available on the label bandcamp page - Horn of Plenty - but it's sold out. Amazon do have it though .
Hello, great video ! I found a Melusine album last week called "Lève toi et danse " which is nice too...what is the name of the Belgian girl you showed after them? I didn't get the name and the extract seemed great...I really appreciated the video you made on French Folk 👍
Hi Chris, thanks for the kind words. I apologise - I meant to put the artist and title under each needle drop but forgot! The Belgian lady is Annelies Monseré and the album is 'Mares'.
Hello Pete, great to see you back on picks video and nice that you are feeling better. Loads of great melodies at the first samples. Oddly i have never heard of that swedish band, have to check that out. I like Wolf people and Hollick sample is wonderfull. I love Decemberists, bought Picaresque when it came out maybe twenty years ago and Crane wife also, nice to hear that their newest seems to be also proper, actually have to check if my local might have that in stock. Greetings, -petri
Hi Petri, nice to know you also like The Decemberists - envious of you having Picaresque and Crane Wife - wish I could find them at a reasonable price. I discovered Garmana in the mid 90s along with a number of other Nordic folk artists. Do you know of Den Fule, Vadå, Hedningarna and Hoven Droven? These were all Swedish acts who are well worth checking out, though nearly all their releases were CD only. And then there was Värttinä who were from Finland. Cheers... Pete
@@soundsfromthewestcoast9939 Dont worry Pete, lol, i have only cd of those Decemberists. I dont recognise those swedish bands you mentioned, seems like you know your folk:) but värttinä of course, is very well known here, lol. I have listened lately some Dungen related folk like Lisa o Piu though.
Great selections, Pete...I've not heard the new Decembrists, or Richard Thompson albums, must check those out. Good luck with your back issues...I sympathize. Speaking of old age, have you heard the folk/trad group Old Blind Dogs?
Thanks! You really should check out The Decemberists and the new Richard Thompson - they'll very likely be near the top of my albums of the year list if I was to do one. My back's better thanks, but at my age you have to be careful! Not heard of Old Blind Dogs - thanks for the heads up on them I'll definitely check them out. Regards... Pete
Good to see you back Pete and hope you are getting healthier. That is one hell of an inbox. I have no idea where you put them all or have the time to listen to them all. I have pretty much stopped buying records now as I can’t justify having any more than I already have. I don’t listen to the ones I have often enough to add. But I do love seeing what other people are picking up. Best wishes fella, Chris
Hi Chris, I seriously do admire you in your curtailing of your record buying and listening to those ones you already have. I wish I was strong enough to do the same, especially as I really miss the early years of collecting when you didn't have so many records and each got played a lot and you knew every facet of the recordings. Nowadays a new record however good doesn't get the number of plays it deserves. Some of my favourite albums of all time wouldn't be favourites if I'd only given them 3 or 4 plays. Thanks for watching... Pete
@@soundsfromthewestcoast9939 I was getting to the point where I played a new record once or twice and put it on the shelf. Ridiculous.
Just come across to your channel from Rob Ipsons latest video - shall look forward to watching your back catalogue!

Hi Pete, Hope you are well. I've enjoyed this response to James' thread. I even pulled out some records myself to have a go but my computer really isn't able to make videos in the way I like to anymore. I plan to get a new laptop hopefully this week so I should be up and running again anytime soon. I'm writing to ask if you listened to Add To Playlist on BBC Radio 4 this week. They had Rick Wakeman on as a guest. I recommend listening to it if you can. It was a really good episode. It is available on BBC sounds.
Hi John, wonderful to hear from you. I have to admit that I don't listen to the radio much at all these days - never even knew there was a program called Add to Playlist. I can imagine with Wakeman on it would have been very entertaining - I'll try and listen to it on BBC Sounds. I went to a solo concert of his many years ago in Manchester, and while the music and his playing were excellent it was his stories that were the highlight of the evening - some really hilarious ones - the guy could have been a great stand up comic if he hadn't been a virtuoso keyboardist. Take care, and get that laptop situation resolved, we need a new video from you! (PS just sent you an email)
Well done Pete. The main problem is that you have set the bar too high for anyone else to participate! Thanks, Chris
Thanks Chris, don't know about setting the bar too high but I have just noticed that videos in which I don't appear seem to get more views - I wonder why that is 🤣🤣!
Great response Pete! I have to check into this thread when the weekend comes around. Cheers, Richard
Thanks Richard!
How was SRV Soul to Soul omitted from the list?, a tobacco sunburst ES, my dream guitar....
Can only show what I own 😁
Great response Pete and a well put together video...Good to have Mr Thompson backing it too...
Thanks Dale - the Thompson track just seemed to choose itself!
Great choices Pete, and a great choice for a backing track. Funny how little regard the Hendrix estate had for his fans, couldn’t even be bothered with matching concert photos. Cheers.
Thanks Jack. At least they chose a really good photo for the Isle of Wight cover - it could have been so much worse!
That Richard Thompson track is very clever. Love L by Steve Hillage, though Fish Rising just tops it.
Hi John, if the Thompson track was not allowed it would have been Bread's Guitar Man as the track used. Agree about the relative merits of the Hillage albums - his two best albums IMO - though I really do like Rainbow Dome Music too.
Great response Pete. I hadn't thought of Damn the Torpedos though that's an obvious one!
Great soundtrack too.
@@jamesgriffithsmusic Thanks James, enjoyed doing it. I wanted to put in a Richard Thompson cover but I don't think there's one I have on vinyl that just features him and guitar. I remembered though that he had a track called 'Guitar Heroes' so it made an apt choice for the soundtrack. Otherwise it would have been 'Guitar Man' by Bread which would at least have made the video shorter. Thanks again for the thread... Pete
Hi Pete, No worries, I am further behind. Just got back from the home country and a lot of extra hours at work to make that overdue visit happen. That’s a lot music to digest! The only band I have in my shelf of the large batch is Drekka. I have one album on Dawson's recommendation. Glad you liked the CDs! Take care, Richard
Hi Richard, I hope you had a good time back in Norway. And I hope you picked up tons of Norwegian prog and fusion while you were there! Have to admit the Drekka album was one That didn't do it for me. Hope we'll see a video from you soon. Cheers... Pete
@soundsfromthewestcoast9939 Thanks. I should do a video soon. There is not much for Record shops in my hometown, but Apollon has a small stor and a bar there and I ended up with a few.
Hi Pete , for some reason missed some of this this extended series on your collection , so hours of viewing ahead ! And delighted to discover Kedama , if you have any other obscure organ / keys in this vein do let me know . I love the heavy organ German prog early stuff . Hope all well !
Hi Graham - thanks for watching. Glad you enjoyed Kedama. You should find some more in that vein among the other krautrock videos (which are all in a playlist now to make it easier to find) - but of the ones I've not yet shown you could try Tetragon, Thirsty Moon, Tibet and Time of Commotion. Cheers... Pete
Hi Pete. That set of 3" CDs is rather nice. It goes without saying that I've heard of none of the bands and artists. When I was a kid I was fascinated by the paranormal, UFOs and the unexplained. Unfortunately over the years I've seen an increasing connection between those who are interested in the unexplained and the more insideous world of conspiracy theories. It's not fun any more. I should probably stay away from social media. Cheers - Hedley
Hi Hedley, those 3" CDs are enticing - I've just ordered an adaptor so I can play them. The acts are all pretty obscure. I'm the same as you with regard to all things unexplained. I used to subscribe to Fortean Times and loved their approach to such topics. But as you state the whole world of conspiracy theories that is around now is a particularly disturbing and potentially dangerous environment which I try and keep clear of (though it does seem to be becoming more a part of mainstream culture sadly). I do still enjoy picking up the odd copy of FT sometimes though. Cheers... Pete
A fine bunch of esoteric discs from the great Dave B. Must get hold of that mythos issue of Occult Detective... I saw Richard show Filibuster Saloon and thought they sounded appealing (especially when he mentioned the Canterbury word.) Hope summer is working out well with you, despite the weather. 😂
Hi John, I was very grateful to Dave for sending me these CDs - particularly looking forward to the Folklore of the Moon set. I think you'd probably enjoy the Filibuster saloon CD as you enjoy the whole Canterbury scene. Been an eventful couple of weeks, but no summer really to speak of! Take care... Pete
Happy very belated birthday Pete! Great idea for a video. Did you hear the story of what happened to Jimmy Nichol after the Beatles? Bit of a tragic story, though not as tragic as Jim Gordon. Some great albums associated with June 3 for sure. Still looking for Lola Vs Powerman by The Kinks (along with a lot of their other records). Obscured By Clouds is a really good album, I have the reissue of that. I recently acquired that Byrds two-fer. Cheers, James
Thank you very much James. I don't actually know what happened to Jimmy Nichol - do I want to? Gave up trying to find those mid period Kinks albums out in the wild and went with the reissues when they came out. The easiest albums of theirs to find are the later Arista ones. I feel that Obscured is very much underrated. The Byrds two-fer is great - my favourite Byrds album combined with my very first introduction to country rock. Cheers... Pete
Hi Pete, How are you doing? I hope you are well. Bad Reputation was my entry point for Thin Lizzy. It is a solid album IMO, that showcases Phil Lynott's song writing skills wonderfully. It was one of my first hard rock albums and I can remember feeling intimidated by the title track as a young lad. I am quite sure that it is one of a handful of albums released in the late 70s that would be a huge influence on the NWBHM scene that developed from about 1979. That Vardis album looks interesting. I have their first one. I think it is fair to say that quite a few of those early metal bands let themselves down by poor vocals. It's almost as if the singing became secondary to the rest of the racket they were making in the studio. LOL I have a silly question Pete regarding Can. Do you have all their records? Cheers
Hi John, how are you? Been meaning to get in touch for quite a while. This was the first time I'd heard Bad Reputation. I know it's highly thought of but for me doesn't match albums like Johnny The Fox and Jailbreak - I'm also a fan of the early Eric Bell albums. NWOBHM albums are difficult to collect - very rarely see any of them and they're usually expensive. I don't quite have all the Can albums on vinyl - I'm missing one! I don't have the reunion album Rite Time which to be honest was never a favourite. Do have it on CD but not listened to it in years. Will send you an email soon (honest)... cheers... Pete
@@soundsfromthewestcoast9939 I like the Eric Bell Lizzy too, though I have still to hear the first two. I ask about Can because I have a brand new copy of Out Of Reach, still sealed. I bought it a few years ago in a sale. I have nothing else by them so I'm not sure what to expect. Maybe I'll spin it and see. Hope all is well with you. I'll put together an e-mail soon. Cheers
@@johnbellamy3406 Hi John, Out of Reach is a contentious album among both the fans and the band. At that point they'd changed line-up adding a couple of new guys and going for a funkier, jazzier, and at times poppier sound - far less experimental than they had been. It's different but I still quite enjoy it.
Hi Pete , I ‘ ve just seen this video , thought I was the only person that had the Osiris album ! Picked it up in Prague few years ago . Also I saw you mention Caravela Escarlate a while back and I m trying to find your video , do you know which one it is ? May be a long shot ! I ‘ ve just picked up the keyboardist Ronaldo Rodrigues solo album which is excellent! Best Graham
Hi Graham, I think I saw the Osiris album on the sales list of one of the online retailers I use a lot - a prog band from Bahrain - I just had to try it! I see they reformed in the 2000s and did a number of albums for Musea - wonder what they're like? Sorry at my age I struggle to recall what I had for dinner so can't remember in which video I showed the Caravela Escarlate album - it's an excellent one though. Will definitely have to check out the keyboardist's album. All the best... Pete
Happy belated birthday Pete!
Thanks Chris.
Hello, I watched your video from France. Nice presentation of Celtic folk (and some albums that I have in my collection). And there is so much to discover in French folk - Occitania, Corsica, Provence and many others. Thank you in any case for your sharing.
Thank you for watching and commenting Joseph. I'm sure, as you say, that there is so much more to discover, and I look forward to doing so.
How great to find hidden gems! Thanks for the great music in this video.
Thank you for watching and commenting.

Thank you!
Happy pension days Pete, Drink wine reasonably but spin records excessively!
Thank you Petri. I only had the one glass of wine... honest (though it was a large one 🤣).
AMAZING COLLECTION AND CHOICES THANKS
Thank you for watching and commenting.
I found your presentation very interesting and enjoyable. All of the connections to your birthdate is interesting. Well done! And happy birthday too!
Thank you for the birthday greeting, and for the kind words on the video. Cheers...Pete
This is a good idea for a video.
Thanks Richie, it would be interesting to see others do similar ones with their birth dates / significant dates.
Breton (and also part Jewish...) I really appreciate this choice/florilege. Diaouled Ar menez means the devils from the mountains, fantastic to dance on. Tri Martelod is anthemic in Brittany. Shame you could not also show dancing :( Youenn Gwernig (whom you do not mention) sings in English, Breton and French. He is fantastic. Ar Sonnerien Du means the drunken musicians (Du=black, and also means drunk. I love them, I saw them even more than Stivell or Tri Yann), and Gweltaz Ar Fur (shame he does not get a mention and neither does An Triskell). (and then I love Klezma and Yiddish music...and I sing Brecht or Jazz, but my sisters and I sing about 20 Tri Yann songs together in Kann ha diskan. ) You can also look up Tremma: ruclips.net/video/fQvseDO8rXw/видео.html lol I have all the Breton LPs (since I have all of Tri Yann, Stivell, Ar Sonnerien Du, Diaouled Ar Menez) you mentioned except Kouerien Sant-Yann whom I find boring. My brother is a big fan of La Ripaille (Ripaille=binge eating), la Bamboche (une bamboche is a sort of big fete, with alcohol...Faire la bamboche: going on a bender) and Malicorne. I had never heard of la Chiffonie. I like it. same with Emmanuelle Parrenin. For Youenn Gwernig ruclips.net/video/xg5m18lt3pg/видео.html There are also a lot of folk bands in Sweden Germany, Italy and Switzerland.
Thank you ever so much for watching and commenting. I really appreciated the translation of the various band names. I love to hear acts sing in their native languages as opposed to English, but often would like an English translation to read along to. Though really the human voice is just a musical instrument too. I showed only those acts for which I have some music on vinyl. I bought most of them back in the 70s and 80s when French and especially Breton music thanks to people like Stivell made it popular here in the UK. They are not so easy to find nowadays. Therefore I thank you for the links to other like minded groups - I will definitely check them out. I'm always on the lookout for more folk acts from around Europe - especially Italy as I'm of Italian extraction - especially traditional songs and tunes when done utilising electric instruments alongside more traditional ones in a progressive manner. Wishing you all the best... Peter
Really enjoyed this one Pete. I did see Queen the year after Night at the Opera was released and I saw Marley a year after Exodus was released. As you were showing the different albums I was thinking how incredible the music was at that time. On this day excellance. Well done Pete~ Rob/Boston
Thank Rob. Wow you got to see Marley! I would have loved that. I got to see Queen at Maine Road stadium (Manchester City's old ground) in 1986 - decent concert (though I think I preferred Status Quo who were supporting). Cheers... Pete
Many happy returns Pete! Nice concept for a video. That Hendrix album was an early favorite of mine. I think it has evaporated in numerous moves after college, but had a nice extended version on CD. Hope you had an enjoyable Birthday, Richard
Thanks Richard. It would be interesting to see others (hint) do similar videos for their birth date. Don't really celebrate birthdays anymore, but on the Saturday prior I did take myself off to Carlisle our largest town and did buy myself a few albums as a present to myself 😁.

Thanks Michael - don't really celebrate my birthday any more - there have been so many now, but I did take myself off to Carlisle on Saturday and bought myself some records 😁
I celebrated mine on Sunday and wish I hadn’t bothered. I went to the jam at a pub in Belmont (next door to San Mateo, where I live) but didn’t have a good time and never got called up to play. I should have gone record shopping instead!
@@michaelpdawson A belated happy birthday Michael. Sorry the day itself didn't work out though. I do find that a bit of retail therapy can be good for the soul (if you ignore the occasional bit of guilt 😁). Cheers.. Pete
Thanks Pete! As it happens, I went to someone else’s birthday celebration tonight and had a blast! They went all out, hiring a club and two bands. The first was a Beatles trio (no drummer) who did a lot of early songs that showed off their vocal harmonies. Then there was a Bowie cover band that did two sets, first disco-funky Bowie and then Ziggy-era Bowie. Big fun…let all the children BEWGIE.
happy birthday! go buy some records.
Thank you! Actually celebrated my birthday on Saturday by taking myself off to Carlisle our biggest city in the county and of course ended up buying some records!
Congratulations on 66 Pete. Don’t let Rishi find out that the Crown is funding your purchases. I won’t say how old I am but let’s just say I’m enjoying my sixties while I can. Great idea for a video. Cheers mate.
Thanks Jack. Grateful I got to 66 successfully - the Conservatives have been talking of upping the pensionable age to 75 if they get in again! Now I can apply for my free bus pass!
Well done, Peter, and happy birthday! Amazing how many great albums fit in this clever topic.
Thank you! I wasn't sure when I first thought of trying this if there would be many notable events on my birth date, so was pleasantly surprised. It would be nice to see others do a similar video for their own birth dates.
Happy Birthday Peter! Hope you have a good one!
Thank you very much!
Happy birthday Peter! Love your videos. Greetings from Brasil.
Thank you ever so much Marcos. And thank you for the kind words about my videos - can't believe that someone from Brazil is watching them!
Many happies Pete!!, novel idea for a video, great to hear about your beginnings and to see all these musical anniversaries, many of which I wasn't aware of. The BBC have a lot to answer for, they want their cake and eat it.. Nice boxset of TAAB, I've never actually listened to the sequel album. I keep forgetting about Jim Gordon, that was so shocking..he was certainly one helluva session player.
Thanks Rob, bet you didn't know you were conversing with someone born in a castle 😂. TAAB 2 is pretty good, though obviously not up there with the original. Yes a shame about Jim Gordan. maybe the events of June 3 could have been prevented if he'd have been correctly diagnosed earlier. His really was a prolific musician - there were dozens of other albums that he appeared on outside of those I showed.
