Well you do have a mandatory life jacket you must wear...however I'm sure if you are not comfortable doing that then you can skip that obstacle. Are you racing age group?

no problem! and no there is no difference...the rope climb is the same for super sprint and beast

ok absolutely...do NOT wear cotton...wear athletic shirt and shorts, something that will repel moisture. I would wear longer socks because you don't know if you'll be running through prickly bushes or not. as far as shoes there are many options but you would want a trail run shoe. I personally wear Altra Lone Peak and I love them. There are also Solomon, spartan has their own shoes, and several others but I love my Altras! If you have anymore questions just let me know!

@ificanyoucan5431 Yes I have. A few in 2016,18 & 19. But an looking at the WV Spartan weekend. Not ready yet, but I have 7 weeks to get ready. You made it look easy and still had energy left!💥💪☝️

some of the reaches are pretty far but you can always get help from other runners and there are also steps that you can use to give yourself a little boost on most of the obstacles

So the Charlotte Sprint is super flat and fast. I've done the Asheville one too and it's a little more technical (rolling hills, more climbs) but also a great venue for visitors too! I believe it's the only one that I've been to that has a nice covered area where the festival is.

that mud on the rolling mud and dunk wall was horrible!

@@ificanyoucan5431 what time did you run at? I was in the 10:15 and didn’t think it was to bad. I couldn’t see anything after the dunk part but I was able to get up the mud walls without much difficulties.

a year is PLENTY of time...stick to your program and you will do just fine!!

you know I don't really think so...the savage obstacles are really unique and to be honest the only way I think you can get better at their obstacles is by practice. Understanding how to use your lower body momentum to help you across the hanging obstacles is a great way to start thought!

well you should be able to handle future trifecta weekends without problems now! great job!

Well more than likely these are all the same obstacles you will encounter so just be mentally prepared and biggest tip don't stress out! go out there have fun! if you're running with friend(s) then go help each other out and have a blast...if you are running solo don't hesitate to ask someone for help! you'll do just fine! which venue?

I raced Charlotte today. Was it just me or did the course seem long?

@@dchever1 I’m racing in the morning, you’re prob right cuz the course map they put out showed todays and tomorrow’s date and it went well past the 3 mile marker so it looked more like 3 and a half

don't be too worried about the time cut offs...honestly you can power walk the whole thing and still make it in time. My biggest tip is to just keep moving take as little time at the halfway point as possible (only reload food and water maybe change wet socks) but if you keep moving you will finish no problems!

oh yea be sure to do some dead hangs to help and do different grip strength exercises! both of those obstacles are about 50 lbs for the women! which race are you doing?

@@ificanyoucan5431 I’m doing the sprint at 8am. I joined a CrossFit gym and also do boot camp HIIT. I’m doing burpee’s when I workout at home and started trail running. I feel so unprepared and nervous but I’m going to do it.

hey there so if you are running in the open heats (not competitive) you can try as often as youd like just be courteous if there are people behind you...as far as burpees it's an honor system. If you were running in age group or elite the burpee count is 30 but if you are just going out there to experience it just do what you can handle if you want to do the full 30 cool if you find yourself gassing out and can't do all 30 that's fine too!

no it was perfect...not cold at all it was warm but cloudy so not like oppressively hot
