The only person from his early days with the Cavs to embrace him was Zydrunas Ilgauskas. LeBron said Ilgauskas toon him under his wing and showed him how to be a pro on and off the court. LeBron always loved Big Z.

It’s because of his marketing, it’s ridiculous, always had been. Publicly at least just a touch of humbleness would’ve went a long way.

You can observe this behavior everywhere and often at work. Where a younger newcomer is just so ahead of the rest cause he is either talented or worked his ass of since highschool. Talent is given and i can understand jealously a bit but hard work everyone can do. As a software developer i had this with some work colleagues and later business partners that were just jealous but not understood that since i got a computer with 15 i worked with it alltime and hang around with friends less then others. in university beginning i was already a freelancer and contributed my thesis to a scientific paper and poster while being working student and founding my company. Now being 37 those people could not understand the amount of time i invested into this field and that i already faced more challenges and solved them and are years ahead they cant catch up. As kobe said if you practice 3 times a day and others only 2 its impossible for them to catch up anymore. This investment and knowledge builds up exponentially in all fields, also on the basketball court. Lebron as a young leader and Luka playing europe at age 15 have seen more situations and learned from them then many other veterans a few years in the league-

Young Lebron was crazy and fun to watch. Sometime around "the decision" to go to the Heat is where I started disliking his leadership and style though. He's an all-time great for sure, but that aspect kind of ruined it for me. Seeing him go from a super baller high schooler that took a horrible team and built them up to the finals in a few years, only to jump ship to make a super team in Miami, while simultaneously getting cocky and seeming to get worse cardio from bulking and ego stopping his defensive energy, kind of wrecked it for me. But, I've never seen anyone get so hyped at such a young age and so immediately over-deliver on that promise

I remember those pre-LeBron Cavs teams well. And before people crap on him, Rickey Davis was a very good basketball player at that time scoring close to 20 ppg from 2001-2008. You also have to understand that high school players weren't looked at at that time as players who could carry a professional team (Garnett and Kobe being a few). Not to mention a player like Kwame Brown being selected first overall only a few years prior left people with a bad taste in their mouth regarding high schoolers going straight to the NBA. LeBron was probably the most hyped high schooler in the history of the NBA and I could only imagine these Cavs players (living in Cleveland no less) were tired of hearing about this young kid. Simple truth is, the Cavs players, specially those in relative positions to LJ, didnt want their jobs taken and probably werent too happy hearing about an 18 year old being the savior for their team, which is understandable. Of course we know how it went and those players were traded and/or released and LeBron made a pretty good career out of it in the end. Needless to say

Sounds like to me that if the team didn’t do everything to make lebron great. Then they were getting punished for it. That’s what it seemed like to me , lebron was made to be number one. Kinda like a Kevin hart type thing. He was already in a good position without having to work for it
