Do Unusual Tomatoes Taste As Good As They Look? Taste Test - inthecottagegarden
Are those runner ducks? And Yes! I consider taking ducks especially after this summer with all the Slugs😤
I built a pond in my garden and just hatched 16 khaki Campbells. Even at 5 days old they are producing a lot of fertilizer. :)
hello my queen
Can i put my seedling tray in direct sunlight
Yes! Just make sure it doesn’t dry out ☺️
So it's not bacon then.
It’s a bacon alternative!
@inthecottagegardenuk Yeah, it's just not worthy of the name 'bacon'. Call it whatever you want, just not what is clearly isn't
I’ve just got one! Rooted cutting from eBay. Came 2 weeks ago!
Amazing!! It’s such a good plant! 🌱 enjoy!
@ Thank you 😁😁😁
I love those little baby tulips 😭
They’re cute aren’t they 🥹
But it's like 100x more expensive than plain cardboard and is chemically treated / contains ink. Just use cardboard lol
For sure it’s definitely more expensive! This was more for if you have old notebooks or something as a fun experiment
Looking at the bun gave me heartburn
Hahaha I know what you mean tbh
Ngl, watched the video and thought the woman was crazy with just seaweed in the sandwich, was getting vegan vibes from it, then read the vid title. Hope she doesn't pop her clogs by accident
I put just seaweed in it just to try it, I would put lots of other stuff in it next time to make a tasty sandwich. But you know what, the seaweed sandwich was actually pretty good! I did add ketchup though
vegans are getting out of hand
lol
I’ve lived in Japan a long time, so I have no problem eating seaweed, but you’re out of your mind if you think you can call that bacon. Looks like it’s bloody good in its own right, but you’re just setting people up disappointment by trying to pass it off as something it’s just not. Same reason tofu has gotten such a bad rap in the west. As good as it is, it’s never going to be a hamburger
Oh of course, I’m not saying it’s the same as bacon but if you can’t eat bacon, this is an option for something you could have instead, or just try for fun
😂😂😂😂😂 mam !!!!!!!!
What?? 😭
@ you know what !!😂
Love this! We just lit our jack-o-lantern inside and put it in the fridge each night. Made pumpkin date balls, pumpkin fritters, roast pumpkin and chicken, spicy pumpkin seeds, pumpkin soup, loads of stock w/ the scraps and other veg... and we STILL have some in the freezer lol.
That’s a great idea! And so many yummy recipes ☺️ it’s crazy how many meals you can make with one pumpkin
You actually look a TINYYY bit Japanese 😂 I can’t tell you how or why!
Interesting!!
Now this is interesting... From where do you gain your powers?
Ooooh powers you say?? 🧙♀️
@@inthecottagegardenuk Oh yes, powers! I've seen enough of your videos. And I'm completely enamoured by your talent & knowledge..
Yum!
It was so good!
I love it!!! ❤️
Thank you!! ☺️
If you want eggs be careful what breed you buy. Normal ducks will give 150 per year in spring and summer . Choose egg laying breeds like Indian runner, khaki Campbell , harlequin .....these breeds will give 280 to 350 each for 4 years . Much more than a chicken which has a productiive life of just 18 months to 2 years . These breeds are well worth searching for from a reputable breeder. They are really fun pets to keep but are an easy target for foxes and dogs .
Yes for sure, these are the best breed if you want the maximum number of eggs, but we don’t eat that many so they work for us! And they’re pretty friendly too which I love ☺️
Curry makes everything good 😍🤤🤤
It does!!
You have so many hair styles 😆 they are so cute always. Anyways thanks for the tips!
Hahaha I really get through them, thank you ☺️
It's also good ro leave a bigfer pile of fallen leaves somewhere on the ground for small mamals to hide in during winter like hedgehogs.
Yes definitely!
You advise is certainly of note, but I wonder, where do you find the time? No criticism, I thoroughly encourage a well organised & maintained garden.
I struggle to find the time tbh! I find doing a quick 20-30 minutes here and there makes all the difference
I would definitely eat that, will be trying that with allotment grown pumpkin.
Ooh let me know what you think!!
I already put pumpkin in my curry but never thought to fry it. Will totally try. Thanks for the idea! 🎃🍛
It’s so good, I hope you like it! ☺️
Great presentation on the plate. We've got a couple of "Atlantic Giant" pumpkins left, but unfortunately they don't taste great. Next year I'll be growing hokkaidos and butternuts
Ahh give it a go next year then! It’s so yummy ☺️
i'm definitely going to try this!
Hope you like it! ☺️
Great video and recommendation 😊
Glad you enjoyed! 🧡🌸
Glad you enjoyed! 🧡🌸
My kale has survived several frosts. I dont really like kale though lol. Just growing it because i like gardening.
Haha I’m the same with radishes! I don’t like eating them but I love growing them ☺️
Красотка❤
🧄 🌱
You are very good. Thank you your video. Good luck!
Thank you! ☺️
Yes I would like to see if it does live up to the reputation too!
Very informative and well edited video! Many thanks. I'm about to get 5 Khaki Campbells for my homestead in Malaysia.
It's alot milder in flavour than regular garlic
It is, I use it as a completely different vegetable
oh girl, feel it. a single clove is not enough garlic. I need those :-)
Never!! You should try growing them 🧄
Great popped in the smoker for a few hours
That sounds so good, I’m gonna have to try it!
That sounds so good, I’m gonna have to try it!
@@inthecottagegardenuk Along with red peppers. Absolutely fantastic!
Thanks
No problem ☺️
Now to travel to a place where willows grow
It’ll be worth it 🌱
best garlic ever!
It is!! 🧄
Is it safe to touch?
You need to wash your hands after touching it 🌸
thank you this was so helpful! on the website now ordering, I can't believe how cheap x
Ahh I’m glad you enjoyed it!! It’s the best website, I order from there every year!
H how much for a 🦆£
They’re pretty cheap if you buy them as day old ducklings, about £5
Where about do you like in the UK? I live in Falkirk, Scotland and want to start my own gardening but not sure on how to start or whether I can do successful gardening in this area?
@@TheKitchenRevert I’m in west wales, I’m sure you could grow lots of veg there, you just have a smaller window for the summery veg
@@inthecottagegardenukme too! would you say the same about growing food in the North West of England?
Yay! So many bulbs 😊
Sooo many!! Now I have to plant them all 😭
I want one or more but sadly i live in a council house😅😅🤦🏻♀️ maybe one day 💜
Oww not ideal, I hope you get a nice garden one day so you can have ducks 🦆
@@inthecottagegardenuk I hope so 🩷🩷 because that would be nice 🇬🇧🏴🩷
What will I be doing in my garden? Not enough, regrettably. Far too busy. Hopefully better results next year.
That’s understandable! Everything slows down at this time of year anyway, I’m sure it’s still beautiful ☺️
@@inthecottagegardenuk You are too kind. Provided I remove dandelions from my favourate lawn, & grow something more than just potatoes & tomatoes, I'll be a happy bean. Health, work commitments & rain kept me from achieving that what I would call success this year. Than you for providing us with tips, & also encouragement. Your enthusiasm shines through & I consider you to be very lucky.
Is this okay for cats ? To be around
Unless your cat is a maniac who just eats everything, you should be ok. Animals generally know to avoid it, I have cats and a dog and it hasn’t been a problem
I planted about 740 bulbs in the last two weeks! Hopefully have blooms next spring 🫶🏽 I have one order I am waiting on and then I’m taking a break haha
Oooh good job!! I need to find the motivation to plant all of mine! I don’t blame you for taking a break!!
You should experiment with soaking it in isopropyl alcohol instead of water! Just saw a video of someone doing that with aspen leaves and the dye was yellow with water but green with the alcohol (it allowed the chlorophyll to remain)
its not an exclusive property of the alcohol, it just has a lower boiling point so the dye can be reduced without harming the chloroplasts
@@caprisun445 Yup!
@@TM.BECK14 ahhh that’s interesting!! Thank you for the idea, I’ll give it a go ☺️
You were brave for wearing that sweater with creamy white cuffs, haha Anyways, lovely video ! I love the ducks!
Hahaha I do that a lot in the garden, it can always be washed!! Aw thank you ☺️🦆
Ducks are amazing 😍 the waddling slug patrol 🦆
Aren’t they?? And they have the best personalities 🥹🦆
