      I built a pond in my garden and just hatched 16 khaki Campbells. Even at 5 days old they are producing a lot of fertilizer. :)

      I put just seaweed in it just to try it, I would put lots of other stuff in it next time to make a tasty sandwich. But you know what, the seaweed sandwich was actually pretty good! I did add ketchup though

    I’ve lived in Japan a long time, so I have no problem eating seaweed, but you’re out of your mind if you think you can call that bacon. Looks like it’s bloody good in its own right, but you’re just setting people up disappointment by trying to pass it off as something it’s just not. Same reason tofu has gotten such a bad rap in the west. As good as it is, it’s never going to be a hamburger

    • @inthecottagegardenuk
      @inthecottagegardenuk 13 дней назад

      Oh of course, I’m not saying it’s the same as bacon but if you can’t eat bacon, this is an option for something you could have instead, or just try for fun

    If you want eggs be careful what breed you buy. Normal ducks will give 150 per year in spring and summer . Choose egg laying breeds like Indian runner, khaki Campbell , harlequin .....these breeds will give 280 to 350 each for 4 years . Much more than a chicken which has a productiive life of just 18 months to 2 years . These breeds are well worth searching for from a reputable breeder. They are really fun pets to keep but are an easy target for foxes and dogs .

    • @inthecottagegardenuk
      @inthecottagegardenuk 13 дней назад

      Yes for sure, these are the best breed if you want the maximum number of eggs, but we don’t eat that many so they work for us! And they’re pretty friendly too which I love ☺️

    You should experiment with soaking it in isopropyl alcohol instead of water! Just saw a video of someone doing that with aspen leaves and the dye was yellow with water but green with the alcohol (it allowed the chlorophyll to remain)

    • @caprisun445
