How to technical spar | a good example of sparring for both to learn & improve | canelo style
Просмотров 2,7 тыс.3 месяца назад
A good example of how to spar, good technical sparring. Canelo style (high guard headmovement) vs floyd style (philly shell). Short vs tall boxer, some examples and ideas of how to beat that height difference. People often think boxing defence is just a high static guard or a style of boxing. But you need to be able to adapt to different styles and situations because every style has its strengt...

A lovely 5km run in with a snow covered background. The cold air makes it so much harder to breath but it’s definitely worth the challenge. The hills, snow and surrounding area made for a great but tough 5k run. Always a good workout to stay fit for boxing. Follow for more boxing/gym workout videos

Good job bro 👍
@@ndreca96 thanks bro
ur doing great👍but you shouldnt try to copy people. Trying to be canelo 2.0 is just going to slow you down more in the long run.
Wasnt trying to copy i was just joking, i just love trying out different styles
This is great... I am 23.. Is it too late for me to start... .?
Its never too late to start bro! Imagine how good you would be in a couple of year 🥊🥊
Nice man
Thanks mate !
Looks like Canelo style better suits you
Thank mate, i agree and its so much fun!
as a ex amateur boxer who trained with a lot of pros... never try to learn yourself something with just videos.... go to the box gym and train with the pros. digital class can obv help you... but you need to see the pros... annyway good luck and keep grinding.
100% agree mate thats why as i said in the video i trained with my university boxing team for 2 years and then trained with two different professional boxers (1 active, 1 recently retired) for some 1-1 training. The grind never ends, appreciate it mate
I really enjoyed it man! Keep going🔥 And can i ask at what age did you start boxing?
Thanks bro, i always did a little since i was young but around 19 i started properly training
Don't know about Canelo 2.0 lol, but definitely a big improvement!! Keep up the good work!!
Yeah the canelo bit was sarcasm haha thanks mate i will do
W transformation , dicipline is key
Thank you
great progress
Thanks! Really appreciate it
Hey thanks man, I’ve started boxing the beginning of this year but haven’t really been going lately due to how my work/school schedule is. But you definitely motivated me to try and get back into it!
Good to hear! I hope you enjoy the comeback 🥊
Great progression do you fight as a amateur?
No, i wear contact lenses, so there’s some strange rules around it, but i might try organise my first fight next year some time
Great video showing the changes and improvements you’ve made over the years
Thanks! Much appreciated, still so much more to learn
You must of had a great trainer as you progressed
I certainly did 😂
Great comparisons you show the different styles really well
Thank you, i think i will do a part 2 with some more styles, like mike tyson and canelo
Glad this popped up into my feed. Thanks for the lesson and keep up the good work! 🤘
Thank you!
Seriously not enough gyms teach this type of thing ! Nobody gets hurt & both leave with improved skills & defensive & offensive sharpness Great job gents 🙏🥊✅✅✅
Definitely mate 👍🏻 this way we can train more often aswell 🥊 appreciate it mate
Great head movement
Thank you! Been working on it for years
Cheers mate. Good breakdown throughout
Thanks mate 👍🏻 appreciate it
I definitely think pre fight CTE is necessary, can't believe you're NOT trying to take his head off in your back yard
found your channel randomly and it was a great find! love the vibes
Thanks bro really appreciate it 👍🏻 more good vibes to come
Boxing defence is often overlooked in training and comes back to bite people who treat it like an afterthought. Defence is arguably more important than attacking in boxing, the greats like floyd mayweather and canelo alvarez put defence first, then work off the defensive moves to attack. People often think boxing defence is just a high static guard or a style of boxing. But you need to be able to adapt to different styles and situations because every style has its strengths and weaknesses. In sparring/a boxing match, you will need to use guards, hand defences (parry’s & blocks), head movement, footwork, pivots, clinches, distancing, feints and sometimes you’ll do all of this every 10 seconds and sometime you don’t need any of it. It all depends on the situation. I like to train so that I’m prepared for all scenarios, so i spend a lot of time working purely on defence and it has helped a lot in sparring. It may not look as good for the camera but it is definitely worth doing. Sometimes i do sparring where I don’t throw any punches and only defend. It all adds up to an improved defence and general understanding of boxing techniques. I also think that baiting your opponent is underrated in boxing defence, because if you can purposely leave a gap for them to hit, and they take the bait, you know what’s coming and can counter it or avoid it. It’s easier to react when you know which punch is coming.
Great tips and movement
Thanks!
Well done Jack hard work pays off
Thanks!
Day 1 of attempting 100kg x 10 bench press My old personal best was 100kg x 9 and now i want a round 10, so im trying again. 4 isnt bad, hopefully it will be 6 within 2 weeks and 8 within a month and 10 not long after! Lets go! My bodyweight is currently 85kg, hoping to increase that slightly so i will be stronger
Great comparison video
Thanks!
The secret to landing this punch is the set up, the plan is to make your opponent think there is a jab to body coming so that the cover up low, exposing the chin and then change the trajectory of the punch into a left hook for a devastating punch. Due to the fact your opponent won’t see this coming it will have more effect. Be sure to mix up the first 3 or 4 body jabs as you don’t want to get counter punched before you get chance to fire off the hook. Be sure to use a broken rhythm and don’t be too predictable. The left hook at the end should be quick and snappy not a loaded up shot.
Great video love the drone footage 👍
Thanks!

TRANSFORMATION This is the change over the last couple of years, progress is definitely slowing down i can feel it, but definitely getting closer to my goals. Feeling bigger, stronger and fitter than ever. Im about the same weight in the before and after. 5’10 84kg Continuing to: - Train hard - Eat high protein daily - Bulk/Cut for long periods - Sleep 8 hours a night - Take creatine - Box twice a week (mainly just heavybag) - Football once a week Hopefully this summer will be time to get as shredded as possible
To set this up well, you need to condition your opponent into thinking your low dropping left hand will result in a body hook, 2 or 3 obvious body hooks will establish this pattern, then fake the body shot and loop over the top as they drop their elbow. Follow for more iconic punches demonstrated
🤑🤙
Basic 1/2 tho this is not effective on a UFC fighter
It is used a lot in UFC too, but i agree, there’s a lot more to take into account when fighting in MMA
Maybe not but it is in the street..99 percent of street fights end with a punch 🥊🥊🥊
There is nothing wrong with basics lmao u want him to do a flying tiger moon kick or sum ish 😂😂😂😂
I’ve been practicing this set up of the right hand for a while and Anthony Joshua proved why it is so effective. Joshua spent about 20 seconds before this distracting francis with his lead hand, then faked the jab, which took the focus of francis, causing an overreaction and created a lovely opening for the right hand. I have been training this punch slightly differently by shooting the jab to the body then faking the jab to the body and throwing the right hand, but it is the same premise. Follow for more training and techniques for iconic punches.
Completely wreaked that iron jaw
NEW CHEST FOCUS ROUTINE I want to build a bigger chest and get back to a pretty strong bench press so I’m upping my volume and frequency of bench press. 1 session will be: - 2 x 5 reps flat bench - 2 x 10 reps flat bench - 4 x 10 reps incline bench Alternating other session will be: - 2 x 5 reps incline dumbbell bench - 2 x 10 reps incline dumbbell bench - 4 x 10 reps flat bench I will do this for about 6 weeks and see how it goes, making adjustments where necessary. In short, if you want to improve one area, then doing it more is the best advice i can give without more information
Many people make the mistake when hitting the heavy bag of just focusing on punching and not thinking about anything else Here are some things i always try to keep in mind: - Hand position - Footwork - Range - Punch variety - Combinations - Setting traps - Head movement - Head & body punching - Defence - Speed - Counter punching - Being unpredictable Obviously all of these can’t be thought of at the same time but they need to be considered to keep your boxing at the highest quality Train how you want to box and you’ll box how you trained
