So we happened upon an old Chapel c1100 in a remote part of the Derbyshire Dales in a tiny village called Ballidon. We were surprised to find it open and are thankful that it was. I thought we'd discuss D tuning for 12 string when I decided to watch this but it's just someone demonstrating their skill at playing in D tuning. Not exactly a worthwhile video.

I'm seventy years old and have been fooling around with electric guitars since I was a kid but J P Cormier from Canada has roped me into acoustic guitars with his Inspired by Gibson, or better than? routine. So I purchased three acoustic guitars i.e. an Epiphone hummingbird a Sigma jumbo and a Fender 12 string Villager. Have I left it too long to go acoustic? Anyway I've realised that finger picking style is the way to go.
It's never too late, my friend.. just keep playing, learning, and developing.

Thank you for your kind words, open D is probably my favourite tuning. I find it quite easy to compose in open D for some reason. 🙂

Oh my word...You pluck a Twelve String, You have to know how to play a Twelve String, You never , never play a twelve string the same way you play a six string. Ask any professional musician who plays for a living. You must pick and pluck a 12 String, Go listen to Hotel California by the Eagles, Listen to the Yardbirds Turn Turn Turn , The examples of how a 12String is to be used are multiple, Check out the song..... ''Walk right in , Sit right down''' check out the hits from the 'Seekers' To play a 12 string like a six string is pointless.

Such buildings always have a great acoustic - lots of natural reverb - is the guitar in DADGAD - some similarities to your 2020 winter solstice piece - although obviously at a different tempo - certainly a place to sing some Christmas carols - hope you are keeping well and surviving the pandemic - cheers Clive
I love playing in these environments, you cant help but be inspired. The guitar is in DADGAD with a capo, I think I used a chord or two from the piece you mentioned and then improvised from there adding various bits of melody.. thanks for listening and commenting, much appreciated Clive 👍
