WARNING! Beware Of New Home Builders Doing This!
On my own. I don't want my relatives near me. No debts and independent.
Trust me on this one. If you are an avid reader you will be reading more than 5 books a year. I read about 50 a year and I’m still working
Warm weather, cost of living and low taxes would probably be my top priorities. Where does Arizona rank? thank you!
I retired a couple of years ago, about a month before turning 60. I've been living off of my pension plus a supplement from the company that is equal to the ss I'll get at 62. I turn 62 in a few months. I've been going round and round whether to take ss at 62 or get a part-time job. I do have a few ira accounts, totaling around $426k. I really don't want to start withdrawals from those for a at least around five years.
Generation Jones Boomers (younger boomers) vs. Older Boomers = economic difference.
I am trying to calculate my funds but it ALWAYS comes up SHORT. More needed. MORE. MORE! Inflation. Uggh.
Very nice,Thank you so muuch❤
If you are 60 and live to the average age of 78, you have 938 Saturdays left. No guarantee for tomorrow.
What an offensive video...
Obviously if you are a liberal/progressive then North Jersey is your heaven......NO THANKS 😂
Excellent discussion. Thank you for sharing.
The concept of mini-retirement changed my life. I'm no longer waiting for some retirement paradise when I'm 65. It helps to know how to fund the lifestyle. You know, making money while you sip that piña colada by the beach does help. I wouldn't have been able to do it otherwise.
Yeah, people miss that part. You don't jet out to Puerto Rico with your life savings. Proper investing and a good business acumen are big pluses. Invest in the stock market, real estate, build businesses. That's just it.
I completely agree; I am 60 years old, recently retired, and have approximately $1,250,000 in external retirement funds. I am debt free and have very little money in retirement funds compared to the total value of my portfolio over the past three years. To be honest, having a portfolio-advisor for investing is genius!
How can I reach this adviser of yours? because I'm seeking for a more effective investment approach on my savings
Annette Christine Conte is the advisr I use and im just putting this out here because you asked. You can Just search the name. You’d find necessary details to work with to set up an appointment.
Thank you for this Pointer. It was to find her handler, She seems very proficient and flexible. I booked a call session with her.
Very informative video, thanks.
The thought of retirement is overwhelming. My heart goes out to everyone who’s retired and is now relying on Social Security, only to see years of hard work and savings jeopardized by factors beyond their control-especially during such turbulent economic times.
It's true that building and maintaining wealth after retirement has never been more challenging, especially with inflation. Yet, with the right portfolio advisor, you can passively engage with a diverse market and learn about its dynamics. The fluctuations of the U.S. dollar have a significant impact on investments, and understanding them requires careful strategy.
Even if you're not an expert, you can still hire one. I was a project manager, and my personal portfolio, roughly $850k in retirement savings, took a severe hit in April during the market downturn. I immediately connected with a financial planner who created a defensive strategy, helping to both safeguard and grow my portfolio during this challenging period. Since then, I've gained over $250k.
I'm in need of guidance to turn my portfolio around after major losses and find better strategies. Can you recommend your advisor?
I consistently recommend Rebecca Lynne Buie as my top choice. She is well-known for her expertise in financial markets and has an impressive track record. I highly endorse her services.
I did a quick search on Rebecca Lynne Buie, and her website came up right away. I’m impressed with what I’ve seen so far and will be scheduling a session with her soon.
Olga, thank you for the video, but...Not all Baby Boomers have a pension.....and the Jones Generation Baby Boomers (the second half of the Baby Boomers) had lots of recessions etc. headwinds to deal with.... So did everyone else, including younger generations today Millenials, Gen Y, X, Z. So....no one has had it easy, really. But Jones Generation have not had it cushy....and sometimes presenters on RUclips lump everyone together, incorrectly. Good luck to us all ✨😊✨ and I wish you a nice day!
And this is why the 30 years olds are choosing not to have kids.
It's really too bad that the assisted living industry exploits American seniors. Cost of senior living is prohibitive at an average of $5,350.00 per month. I would say that's criminal behavior on the part of these assisted living homes. No wonder seniors want to age in place, I don't blame them.
Cheaper to add an elevator on stairs than move to another home in many cases. Lady who moved out of my place (1800sq ft 2 storey) paid $160k more to buy a one floor, 1500 sq ft condo across the block. Single storey are in high boomer demand! Perfect size from most retirees is two / two plus den or 2/2.5 plus a den or common area in middle. Golden girl setup.
My dad passed at 56, his dad at 55 (from two totally different reasons). I am going to be 63 in less than a month. I feel like I've been pushing the envelope! I keep my health in check. The people I work for who are both younger than me are retiring in June, and the business will be closing. My wife is now 61 and plans on retiring when she's 67. She has a great job and gets 5 weeks of vacation (I only ever got 2). She is happy that we will be able to go on more camping trips starting next year.
I would not buy a larger home to have a parent move in....larger mortgage.....when the parents are gone you are left with a larger mortgage and home than what you want. Maybe look at putting a portable wall around a dining room and adding movable stairs inside and out for the senior. There may be some grants to help with this. A discussion about what the parent(s) can contribute to the household will be important. As a side note, I have seen that older people who stay in smaller homes seem to be able to live and die there ("feet first" as many seniors have told me) and I have seen older people who have, throughout the years, bought up and up, end up in a small rental in their latter years. I think staying in a small home helps financially. They also have something to pass on to their kids. Good luck to us all ✨😊✨.
That's very depressing.
Retire april 2025🎉
Don’t retire just work in something you enjoy. So many people die shortly after retirement regardless of age. Keep being useful, keep moving and keep your mind active.
Every time the clock ticks you are one second closer to the end, put that in your rock n roll I saw a guy retire, he clocked out after his last shift and dropped dead walking to his car. He had worked till 70, "I want all the money I paid in"
For Florida, look at the cost of HOA before you buy an house there.
All studies show that people who retire early often have a declined mental and physical state ,you so the time you're talking about would be low quality trash Plus, most people now a days don't have much money - you will retire from living in a 1 bedroom studio to moving into your car & you won't have any money to travel 😂
It's all true - better to live now vs later 👀
So more of the same...
I have been retired for five years now. Although I've been adhering to the 4% rule, things are challenging as I did not anticipate. 30% of the $600K I invested in st0cks is lost to the market. How can I diversify my portfolio for retirement
Now you are retired and depend on your investment, it’s best you redistribute your capital. To simplify the process, you could allocate your resources with the help of a financial advisor.
I needed a good boost to help my dwindling stock portfolio stay afloat, hence I came across an expert who helped a lot to grow my port-folio from $275k to approx. $850k in two years.
This is really nice. I worry that I have a couple more years before retirement, and I want to switch to using a financial advisor, I could really use the expertise of this advisor.
My financial advisor is Annette Marie Holt” I found her on a CNBC interview where she was featured and I reached out to her afterwards via her website
Thanks a lot for this recommendation. I just looked her up, and I have sent her an email. I hope she gets back to me soon.
I was told to spread my money across different things like stocks and bonds to protect my $750k retirement savings. Now, with the markets being shaky, should I keep adding money to my portfolio or consider other options?
If you're new to investing or don't have much time, it's best to get advice from an expert. Investing without proper guidance can lead to mistakes and losses. I've learned this from my own experience.
Having an lnvestment advser is the best way to go about the market right now, especially for near retirees, I've been in touch with a coach for awhile now mostly cause I lack the depth knowledge and mental fortitude to deal with these recurring market conditions, I netted over $220K so far, that made it clear there's more to the market that we avg joes don't know
This is really nice. I worry that I have a couple more years before retirement, and I want to switch to using a financial advisor, I could really use the expertise of this advisor
Actually it’s a Lady. Yes my go to person is a ‘Diana Casteel Lynch’ So easy and compassionate Lady. You should take a look at her work.
Found her webpage, I wrote her an email and scheduled a call. Hopefully she responds. Thank you.
Average 90 years I don't think so more like 80 years
Retirement becomes truly fulfilling when you possess two essential elements: ample financial resources and a meaningful purpose in life. Make prudent investment choices to secure good returns and ensure a comfortable retirement.
Rising prices have affected my intention of retiring at 62, working part-time, and building my savings. I'm worried about whether individuals who weathered the 2008 financial crisis found it less challenging than my current situation. The stock market's volatility, coupled with a reduced income, is making me anxious about having enough for retirement.
I think having an investment advisor is the way to go. I've been with one because I lack the expertise for the market. I made over $490K during the recent dip, highlighting that there's more to the market than we average folks know.
@@PatrickLloyd- How do I get involved in this? I am excited to take part because I genuinely want to build a stable financial future. Who is the main inspiration behind your accomplishments?
Sophie Lynn Carrabus is the licensed advisor I use and i'm just putting this out here because you asked. You can Just search the name. You’d find necessary details to work with to set up an appointment.
I just googled her and I'm really impressed with her credentials; I reached out to her since I need all the assistance I can get. I just scheduled a caII.
Thanks for sharing such valuable information! A bit off-topic, but I wanted to ask: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). Could you explain how to move them to Binance?
God willingly, decided to retire at the age of 57, next year. Already achieved my financial independence.
Thanks
I’m worried about retirement planning and I want to ensure a comfortable future. I’ve worked hard my entire life and I want to enjoy the fruits of my labor without financial stress. I’m really concerned about whether I’ve saved enough and invested wisely.
I completely understand. Ensuring financial security in retirement is crucial. Have you considered consulting a financial advisor?
Yes I have. But I don’t know who exactly to trust to provide the right advices and guidance for me.
True. I have been in contact with a CFA that specializes in retirement planning. His expertise can help optimize your savings and investments.
Who’s this CFA? And how can I reach out to him?

Good honest review. I don't agree with all your choices but with 50 states we have lots of good and bad out there. Thanks for your resouces.
My 2 cents: Time - books & "friends" are a waste of time. Family tolerate but don't really want to see you. Get real. Health - up to God. Who cares? Money - if you're living until your 90's, why the heck would you not work until your late 80's. Finding a job that provides you with enough resources to chill for 3+ decades is crazy. Keep working. Work is a natural part of life, not some punishment to be avoided at all cost
I am choosing to ‘work’ part time… half the week work and the other half use to pursue my creative passions. I am 36, and my outgoings are low, I own my own place, but I no longer see a reason to work full time and let the years slip by when I know my creative projects deserve attention. I am seeing too many people pass away at 60/70 after saving and working for this promise of a retirement. It may not come. I am not taking the risk. I know my situation is a little more unique but many people my age are feeling this way now and want a different balance. We have to live now. Learning to live on less is key. Time is more valuable.
I've done what I can, but, I suffered a devastating divorce in my forties, and I dont have a million dollars in the bank. I'm a little sick and tired of this fallacy everyone should have a million dollars by now. I think many of us don't.
Agreed, actually nobody does. Issue really is life expectancy. If you're living until your 90's, does it make sense to stop working in your 60's? No job is able to provide enough cash to allow sitting on the couch for decades. Keep on working. That's the price you pay dor living a lot longer and not picking winning lottery numbers
Awesome advice, future health is a surprise but your future energy level will tail off quick
I'm hoping to retire next year at 55. My goal next year is to be more serious and consistent with my investments I've been investing since I was 22. 2025 is going to be more serous for me investing consistently for the long term. starting to save for a house down payment. I want to invest more than $105k, but I'm not sure on how to mitigate risk.
Its unclear which stocks and sectors will lead the market in the next uptrend. It is advisable to diversify while retaining 70-80% in secure investments. looking at your budget, you should consider financial advisory.
Safest approach i feel to tackle it is to diversify investments. By spreading investments across different asset classes, like bonds, real estate, and international stocks, they can reduce the impact of a market meltdown. its important to seek the guidance of an expert
Being heavily liquid, I'd rather not reinvent the wheel. Since this strategy works for you, how can I contact your advisor?
My financial advisor is Annette Marie Holt” I found her on a CNBC interview where she was featured and I reached out to her afterwards via her website
Thanks a lot for this recommendation. I just looked her up, and I have sent her an email. I hope she gets back to me soon.
Many people’s sense of self worth comes from their career.Take that away and there is a big void left to fill. You can only play golf or go fishing so long before you begin to feel the need to do something worthwhile and important. No….volunteering does not fill that void.
An increasing number of people are likely to face challenges in retirement. Low wages, rising inflation, and high rental costs make it difficult to save adequately. Now, even middle-class Americans are struggling to afford homeownership, putting their retirement plans at risk.
The surge in living costs has disrupted my plan to retire at 62, work part-time, and continue building my savings. I can't help but wonder if those who weathered the 2008 financial crisis had it easier than what I'm facing today. The volatility of the stock market, paired with a decrease in income, has raised concerns about whether I’ll have enough funds to secure a comfortable retirement.
This is exactly why I rely on a portfolio coach for my investment strategy. Their expertise-managing both long and short positions, capitalizing on asymmetric risk, and strategically hedging against market downturns-makes it incredibly difficult for them to underperform. Over the past two years, working with a portfolio coach has helped me generate over $800,000 in returns.
Would you mind sharing the name of your coach? I’m very interested in exploring this service.
Rebecca Lynne Buie has consistently been my top recommendation. She’s widely recognized for her expertise in financial markets and has a strong track record. I highly recommend her.
She seems highly qualified. I looked her up and found her website-thank you for the recommendation!
If you’re 60, you don’t have 30 years to work with! If you are extremely fortunate only 10 of reasonable quality and the remaining 10 compromised or not even guaranteed. That’s reality if you look at the law of averages.
Are you retired now Olga?
South Jersey is red. We can’t stand liberals down here
I'd retiring or working less in 8 years, and considering this financial recession, Im deciding to begin taking up skilled trades. I'm curious to know best how people split their pay, how much of it goes into savings, spendings or investments, I earn around $120K per year but nothing to show for it yet.
You should contribute to your retirement diligently, or better still look into financial planning don't come to youtube for advise, consult a Local or trusted online broker/ planner
Very true, I find myself lucky enough exposed to money management at an early age. Worked full time when I was 19, purchased first home at 28 fast forward time I'm 57 now not laid off
This is huge! would love to grow my reserve regardless of the economy situation, my 407k has lost everything accrued since early 2019, at this point, i'm in need of guidance, can you point me?
GREGORY LEO CATTEL is the licensed FA I work with, I can't speak much about him you should make a search with his name, you'd find the necessary details to schedule an appointment.
I just Googled his name and his website came up right away. It looks interesting so far. I sent him an email and i hope he responds soon.
