This favorite holiday song had its beginnings as a New Year's Eve drinking song. Then later it was a "competitive" drinking song! Ha!
Someone would sing a verse and then when they were done the crowd would chime in with the fa-la-la's do reset for the next singer to try out his or her lyrics! Not sure how you won but my guess is the reward was a drink!
Much later it became the holiday favorite we have today!
I hope you like my fresh take on it and it can become a new soundtrack for your holiday festivities.

The guitar is a Godin multiac in the video which is what I use live. However the recording was done with a Cordoba Gypsy Kings FWCE. I have the best luck on any guitar with nylon Saverez heigh tension strings!
