Until I see more content of the in the days and months to come I’ll be keeping my expectations in the middle, so I’m not over excited or gravely disappointed prematurely.

We're definitely back! 😁 I'm so glad you posted your reaction and your take, I loved it. I feel we need to wait a bit longer to watch more gameplay and learn more about the mechanics. Also, who's excited about the character creator? It seems to share a lot of similarities with Dragon's Dogma 2 and that's excellent.

I feel like all the videos of people liking the gameplay reveal are just women simping for Solas. The whole video could have been a picture of Solas and yall would've never known.

I'm really hoping that the writing for the companions will be engaging and in-depth. There better be more teasers for them in the near future.

People overreacted and I’ve been targeted as part of the problem because I have pronouns in my bio, a lot of people not liking the look of the game are mostly ‘anti-woke’ ‘DEI’ bad faith arguments. There are also a few parrots copying complaints they’ve found on Reddit which are so unconvincing that they don’t get any traction. My excitement is higher than ever after the gameplay reveal!

I’m so excited it looks so good! When they showed the dialog wheel for the second time and I saw the symbol they used for purple Hawke I literally screamed and I think I cried when Bianca got broken, a lot of emotions were felt. ALSO SCOUT HARDING LOOKS SO GOOD 😍

CohhCarnage, a long-time true Dragon Age fan, since Origins released, rated the gameplay reveal in the perfect way: (only) fine / 10. Rated with a sigh. It's a middling reveal, at best, if we're being HONEST. Now I get that you're trying to remain in BioWare's good graces, to maybe be invited to events, receive access, goodie bags & all that, but... *they're getting shut down by year's end.* It's not a good investment, not to the detriment of speaking the truth and not sounding like a shill for the studio. :)

Those are definitely 2 of the elven gods. We saw those same 2 in the previous teaser trailer back in 2020. Solas wouldn't be going with them, he tricked them and locked them away so they will want to throw hands on sight. I'm slightly worried now that Solas might be killed by them right after where it was cut off, with the game name changed. But these 2 new people are definitely being set up as being the actual big baddies of the game - I just hope it's not at the expense of Solas. I would throw that game out of the window if they did that.

You were able to articulate your feelings very well despite it being at 1 in the morning. That’s the raw power of Dragon Age hype, I assume. Hehe. You made good observations. I have seen a lot of people share the same sentiment as you about the combat, that it looks slow and clunky. This might be a hot take, but I like it right now, I like that it’s closer to the combat of DA2. I say right now because this is clearly gameplay from like the first hour of the game. An RPG’s gameplay at level 1 and at level 50 can sometimes feel like two different games. Personally, I hope it stays closer to DA2 than the other game’s combat, since I never felt the strategy portion of the gameplay of those never felt they had enough depth to begin with. Those parts felt like just a tribute to the CRPG roots of the studio, at least on normal difficulty.

The figure we see through the tear on the left is 100% Ghilan'nain, calling it now. The "mother of halla" was more of a crazed experimental scientist, who created *monsters*. The headdress matches art of her that we see in Dragon Age: The Missing. Figure on the right is not as clear, but my guess would be Falon'din personally

I'm really hoping the "multi-classing" shenanigans the companions seem to be getting up to (Harding, being an Archer Rogue, also having magical abilities) signals the same for Rook, our pc. Maybe the return of advanced classes like the Arcane Warrior, Spirit Warrior, or duel-wielding longswords? As to the tone of the trailer, the last Bioware game to focus its initial marketing on the team being recruited was ME2, universally one of the most beloved games in their portfolio. That doesn't necessarily mean Veilguard will match its quality, but that is something to note.

I just rewatched a Fully Ramblomatic video where Yahtzee described color coding in games. He said “brown” was the color of Xbox 360 games that were full of gritty realism and more modern games use what he called a magenta color palette. Then he pointed out the freeze frames with the bold name cards and listed off a bunch of very successful games that use this format. The reason this trailer was so jarring is because Dragon Age is a game we associate with that “brown” era and this trailer was made for a magenta game. So either the marketing department thought they would pick an art style that was currently popular to generate interest in their game (suggesting they know nothing about the demographic they are attempting to market to) or the game genuinely shifted to resemble Fortnite. I don’t know how the marketing team bypassed the massive success that was Baldur’s Gate 3 when they were looking for art styles to mimic. It’s closer to the same vein that Dragon Age is in than Fortnite.

I was initially very conflicted when I watched the trailer. I think it probably would have been better received if it had been trailer number 2 or something. But after watching it a few times and then seeing the snippet of tomorrow's footage and some info the devs have been revealing on Twitter and in the chat for the gameplay video I'm starting to feel excited. I hope tomorrow makes a lot of these naysayers go back on their comments.

Oh my god it is so nice to see someone else being genuinely excited over the news! Your energy is so great. Completely agree, so many of the things people are griping about are just par for the course with every iteration of Dragon Age. I can understand where the mass anxiety is coming from given the turbulent development we've been distantly hearing about for years, but at the same time- give the game a genuine chance to be good before you decide it's dead in the water. As for me, I'm just so excited to hear about these new characters and fall back in love with Thedas again.

I'm not impressed with this trailer or its looks. Disney or cartoonish are not Dragon Age. Taking Varrics from a blond to black haired with Grey streaks isn't Dragon Age he's always been blond. I'm waiting for a longer than 20 second game play release because the 20 second one is exactly the way it looks in the this trailer.

I don't lie the design of the characters, love the environment, not sure why the faces of the darkspawn are comical, and the gameplay teaser is ok, minus how awekward the main character is walking. He seemed glitchy like a ghost from 13 ghosts!
