    From the “skills” video, it seems Gueye might be feeling quite isolated in Blackburn. His limited English proficiency could be a barrier, and aside from Mafoumbi, who is a lot younger, not in the first team, and speaks French, there might not be many others he can easily communicate with on a day to day basis. This language gap, combined with his frustration over not scoring goals, might prevent him from fully expressing himself during training and matches. It also doesn't help him that Ohashi has come in, scored a few goals and has the vocal backing of the fans. That gives anyone time to settle in on and off the pitch whereas Gueye is clearly feeling pressure to show what he's about. The ideal scenario is that us fans get right behind him, vocally show him how much we want him to do well but as Mark said in the video, the groaning is starting to appear and that doesn't help anyone really.

  • @Dao4deuce
    @Dao4deuce 2 дня назад

    I've been asking the same question of Eustace for weeks: Why are Gueye and Yuki not allowed to be on the pitch at the same time?? They seem a match made in heaven, and it looks like they get on well in training. I get wanting to have another option, but clearly new ideas are needed, and you don't necessarily need an option if you're already getting goals from a strong pairing starting the game.

  • @AlexanderHaben
    @AlexanderHaben 2 дня назад

    It's very clear to me that we need a pacey, creative striker who scores lots of goals. But getting that player is the difficult part.

  • @markatherton139
    @markatherton139 2 дня назад

    I think Gueye Confidence has gone since Burnley sending off. Not sure what was said behind closed doors. But he doesn’t seem to be playing the same as he was before then. Though technique not good then he could run with the ball and stuck with him even was cumbersome at times. He was also doing some good lay offs and movement back then as well On Lewis Baker on be very strange with Eustace doesn’t trust him as I always read he was someone Eustace wanted. For me feels like he doesn’t want to drop Travis maybe because he is captain maybe because what happened last year. Due to that Baker can’t get in as he can’t do Tronstad role

    Excellent pod lads. I think if we'd scored first against Watford they would have crumbled and we would have almost certainly taken all three points. So the Hyam and Weimann chances were pretty glaring. I'm prepared to give Hyam the benefit of the doubt. Firstly, he's a defender and so it would be harsh to expect his finishing ability to be that of a striker's. The ball's come back to him in the heat of the moment and he's hit the underside of the bar. The fact the ball then bounced down on the line before hitting the post for good measure is borderline ridiculous. If you ran that scenario another ten times a goal is scored on nine occasions. It's just unlucky. But I agree with Mark - you have to hold Weimann to a higher standard. Weimann isn't the attacker you bring in to score 20+ goals a season. He does have a tendency to score important goals though , as he's already shown. And so you expect him to deliver at key moments under pressure. Cantwell's chip through-ball was absolutely delicious. All Weimann had to do was pull the trigger on his weaker left-foot into the far-right corner and the points would have been in the bag. But he tried to over-complicate it by taking a heavy first touch and then lobbing it over the bar. Watford's goalkeeper is Daniel Bachmann. He is one of the worst goalkeepers in the entire division. You don't have to try that hard to get the better of him. Just hit the ball in his general direction and he'll palm it into his own net. It was a missed opportunity at the weekend, but it's also important to remember Watford are unbeaten at home. We played pretty well and on another day we get out of Vicarage Road with something to show for it. Big test coming up at the weekend though. Gustavo Hamer is arguably one of the best players in the league. We're going to need someone to sit on him.

    Again the physical aspect is a too much to ignore. Other teams are bigger stronger and faster. You can combat lack of technical ability with more physicality yet we continue to suffer from this for years.

    I think everyone needs to calm down about refs taking a few seconds before making big decisions. Giving penalties red cards etc are big events in a game so they need a couple of seconds to process things, they are not robots.

    I said it several pods ago and I'm sadly being proved correct, Gueye is not a clinical striker and can't be. He would only work with two up top where he can knock the ball down for the other guy who can find the back of the net. He can't play up there on his own

    I think we'll see a few changes at the weekend. Baker in for Cantwell (i'd put him in number 10 but I expect JE will put him out wide again), Brittain for JRC, Batth for Carter, and maybe Gueye in for Ohashi.

  • @benfraser4861
    @benfraser4861 8 дней назад

    With Dolan being as active as he is off the ball and being the trigger for the press, Do you think we gain enough from that to warrant what we could be losing from not playing Cantwell in the 10, we know Cantwell can play out wide but he isn't blessed with pace and we rarely dominate the ball, can we constantly get him chasing fullbacks back most of the time, or do we want him conserving his energy for when he gets on the ball?

  • @callumrobinson4137
    @callumrobinson4137 8 дней назад

    I feel all our issues and strenghts came to the fore, defensively solid but no pace and too little rotation. Still a good point we take it.

  • @bradleystirton6318
    @bradleystirton6318 9 дней назад

    If dolan dosent sign a contract and leaves I'm not overly worried, he's had years to prove himself in a set position and hasn't, he's had years to calm down and do the simple things but still dosent. Dolans best points this season have been when he's out wide running at a fullback, which is where he should be he's no where near good enough at no.10 and has shown he's a detriment on more than one occasion. Hedges, duberry, and siggudson all can do what dolan does except they keep it simple when needed.its frustrating with dolan because he has talent, but has the same issue or have and he's gaslighted by people around him and isn't developing.

  • @markatherton139
    @markatherton139 9 дней назад

    I agree we did rush. At times it felt like we was acting like we was 1-0 down the way we was forcing the issue. When we should be trying calm down just make them work the ball instead just losing it in our half with poor passing. I’d like to see Cantwell centre and Siggy on left and Dolan on the right at home game. For Celeb owner we’ve got have our very own Matt Smith we just need him make big friends with a big money Hollywood star joint own with him

    Hi guys. I think you do a full pod link this to discuss ideas on how to boost attendances at Ewood. Club really needs to think massively outside the box. Doing ticket checks now which I agree with, very tempting to get cheaper entrances when buying one off if no one ever checks. I think a full list of ideas should be given to the club and then agree a master plan before next season. Yes the ground is too big, Jack god bless him went a bit OTT. I think a massive encouragement to attract towns Pakistani and Indian population as ewood is still sadly a largely white male crowd. Something has to be done. A new model. Maybe develop a big park and ride/drop off zone behind the Darwen end on that random grassy land.

    • @callumrobinson4137

      Away attendances are normally fine and generally very passionate but it’s the home crowd dilemma. We can land rockets into space and then land again. Surely the great north west minds which created industry end engineering can solve this problem by getting another 10K into ewood

    • @lawrencetheuniqueone
      @lawrencetheuniqueone 10 дней назад

      @@callumrobinson4137 ewood is in a bad spot but obvs it’s there as a result of industry. If money was no object build a new 22K ground like Brentford in the centre but that will not happen of course

    • @ellisgarner6496
      @ellisgarner6496 9 дней назад

      Yer dead right in that something needs to be done. The more sparse the stadium and the flatter the atmosphere is the less likely first-timers at Ewood would want to come back . I wont repeat myself as i posted in the comments on this subject last week. But yeah , it needs to be taken seriously and it needs a concerted efforts by fans and club .

    We were terrible Mike. We are getting away with it at the moment. Swansea were by far the better team with good passing and movement whereas we can’t pass the ball to save our lives. We are really in need of some pace up front if we want to play counter attacking football and we desperately need a number 8 in the middle of the park who all the plays can go through, Travis and Tronstad are not that person.
