HOW TO STICK TO YOUR NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS // 2021
Thank you so much Hayley for this safety razor review! I've been on the fence with swapping over from regular razors to a safety razor for weeks, and I can't thank you enough for your down-to-earth and authentic approach to this video! ❤
I just saw the razor in an online shop and was looking for a review. Thank you so much for your great review!! 😊❤
Thank you❤ good information
WOW! Three years later. I assume you learned to never pick up a razor blade by the shar edges, like you did. That was scary, watching you do that, I mean. That blade is so sharp it will go right into your meat with the slightest slip. As Astera green blade is far from dull. 4:05 I won't even pick up the paper by those two edges. (Think about it with a bad hangover.) As far as the Bungle in the Jungle bodyhair collection... You would probably love my adjustable. It's a big heavy Dude machine but on the number 1 1/2 setting it is like a Bic disposable....but when it comes to plowing down the forest, save a few old dull blades for that. (Qshave or Mercer Futur.) For you, since you don't shave often enough for your skin to tuffen up, ALWAYS, BEFORE YOU BATH, towel wash with cold water and then cover the area you are about to shave WITH A LOT OF SHAMPOO LATHER. Shave with NO PRESSURE on your skin at all ALLWAYS in the direction of the hair growth and never go over the SAME AREA MORE THAN ONCE. DO UNDERSTAND THIS ----->If you would like to get it all closer, try shaving every three days, so that your skin will have time to thicken back up. Every time you shave, you are taking a little bit of the surface of your skin off with the razor. As a result, you CAN'T SHAVE EVERY DAY, but you probably can shave very carefully every three days. It's sort of like buying a pair of army boots and your feet have to learn to fit the boots. Always wash the razor and the blade when you are done. It's fiction that soaking will soften your hair and make it easier to cut...it will soften your skin and make your skin easier to cut. (Leave the hot water thing for your boyfriend to explain. When you have to shave every day, you can do a lot of experimenting. Professional barbers don't just stick the hot towel on you, they look your face over really well then time it perfectly.) Make certain you bath afterward. You'd think this would be common sense. You just used a scraping tool to thin your skin...you now want the skin to grow back and heal without any scarring and as quickly as possible. Wash before you do it and afterward, wash all of the soap off and rinse! The "razor burn" will go away after your skin toughens up a little(NO PRESSURE!).
Use an Old Coffee Can to get rid of my old Safety Razor Blades!
You resemble it the wrong way
I’m almost 2 months off cerazette now (TTC) and it is wild how different my body feels. Bloating has massively reduced, higher libido, hair also feels great?! In month 1 had a lot of discomfort around ovulation leading up to first period, now in month 2 luckily that has massively reduced, some cramps on day before period and feeling a bit unwell days 1&2. Currently medium / heavy flow days 1&2 with light flow days 3-5. Used to be quite a bit heavier before starting pill but wondering whether it’ll just take time for everything to get back to normal. 😅
Did you notice that you mounted the plate upside down?
I was taking cerazette for almost 4 years, and I thought that everything was fine.. no big changes, and not having my period was convenient.. Until this last few months. I was dealing with loads of mood swings, I was angry all the time, and with depression peaks.. Looking online made me realise that it was the pill..Looking back, I can definitely see more side effects that I experienced. so I stopped and after a few days, I could see the difference.. I felt lighter.. I'm still in the journey, but I'm hopeful. Right now I just want to know the natural rhythm of my body and let it do what is supposed to do. Thanks for sharing your experience!
Something to note for all the ladies that might be interested in getting a safety razor: Pretty much all of the safety razors specifically marketed to women are rebranded private label manufactured razors, so chances are you can find the exact same razor for a lot cheaper if you're okay with it not having pastel coloured paint on it. (Look at Weishi, Baili, DS Cosmetics etc.) Most razors are also cast from Zamak (zinc-copper alloy) that has been chrome plated. It's a decent material and will last long if you look after it, but it can fracture or chip if dropped or knocked, since cast metals are brittle like glass. The most common breakage you'll see is the top cap's threaded post shearing clean off/having it stay behind in the handle's threads after being dropped from standing height or mishandled during shipping. Due to being cast, they can't be repaired in any way. You could replate a razor after having lost its chrome, though. In my opinion, the most underrated (and mostly unknown to women wanting to get into using a safety razor) product range out there would be Razorock's line of 100% stainless steel safety razors. (Sold on their ItalianBarber website) They cost only slightly more (around $60 to $70) than most of the razors made of Zamak and they have none of their weaknesses. Definitely the best value for money in the wet shaving market. If you already have a razor, don't sweat it, but if you're still looking to buy one, be sure to check them out. You'd like their "super knurl" handle. Also, one piece of advice: Wet shave. Canned foam is "dry" and filled with air that makes the experience uneven and its application doesn't prep your hair. Get some sort of brush and a shaving soap that actually lathers well. If you want vegan, PAA's CK6 formula is explosive and synthetic/horse hair brushes don't involve utilizing something from dead animals.
If you're looking for a super light razor, like other commenters have said, Henson's razors are good for that.
I've found regular cheap conditioner or oil works well for me
Basal body temperature
Thanks for the review
Just buy yourself a Henson AL13 and you will never need another razor in your life. Best razor ever made for ladies.
I just bought a Bambaw razor from amazon.
I've got almost 3 months off and still haven't gotten my period
Has anyone noticed that there digestion was off soon after coming off it?
Yes! For about 2 weeks and then it kind of settled.. 😊
@@Linda-qp6vd So I wasn't crazy thinking that was why then!
I still have my period on the mini pill. It could be because of my other meds. It is different though. My period drags on and on and on. It is a lot lighter and there are longer gaps between my period. I also don't get cramps, which is great. I'm coming off it soon though, so back to the real world of agonising cramps every so often. I want to come off it though, I don't need it for anything anymore and I don't want to be taking hormones I don't need to be taking. Update: I just came off it.
Base plate is upside down..
You should buy a sampler of different blades to start with, it's really the only way to find out what blade works best for you.
Hope you shave more often now.
I just got one and it doesn't do anything meaning it doesn't cut my hair. I don't understand how it doesn't work.
Do you think you could have put the base plate upside down? That’s exactly what I did! 😊
@@HayleyMichelle12337 I tried all different ways and it still doesn't work. I will try again.
Ok I fixed it. It was the baseplate on upsidedown!
How do you change it from Fahrenheit to Celsius on the thermometer?
I have the same question, did you find the way?
@@jennifucklove I think you need to hold the button to switch it
Can a digital thermometer work
Of course - I would recommend a digital one with two decimal places.

Have you used the Period Power: Get your cycle working for you: a deck of 48 cards that go with the book?
Oh no I haven’t, have you? Would love to hear some feedback.
I got mine yesterday, and I’ll tell you besi, I took a bath for 20 min, Exfoliated and then after the regular shower I used baby oil and then shaved, no cuts or anything cause I took the time, and omg ! My body didn’t itch at all ! Usually I feel so itchy afterwards, shaving the body you really need to give it time
There’s disposal razor banks for razor blades
Which app is this ?? I got the same thermo and the one they said to download is not free for many things and i domt lile it
It’s the Femometer - some parts of the app are payable but the main part to track BBT is free ☺️
There are so many apps out there that aim to do the same thing. Personally, I've been using OvaGraph lately. It's good for women who are already familiar with charting and don't need a lot of explanations or tutorials, but I probably wouldn't recommend to a beginner. I just like that there's _so much_ data you can input and display on one graph, and you can also make something like half a dozen custom chart fields if you want to track something not included there already. It's totally free. No ads or annoying prompts to upgrade or pay for things. The only thing close to that is when you're nearing your fertile window, sometimes it'll have a little message on the home screen with a link that'll take to a website where you can buy OvaCue if you click on it. The app syncs with OvaCue but also works just fine for regular BBT tracking. It's actually the companion app for the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility," by Toni Weschler (which you can also find for free online as a pdf, btw :) I've also heard a lot of women say they like the Kindara app, but I've never used it.
Would you do another one now that you are off it longer ?thanks
HEY I love your video thanks for all the informations you share i decided to buy the same razor are you still satisfied using it?
Thank you. Yes I still use it and think it’s great 😀
switched to a cup almost 2 years ago. Not a cramp in sight since 😁
4:42 bottom plate upside down mounted
Thank you for the video. Very informative. Great !
Hi cerrazette medicine for stop pregnancy or what
I just got to know about this book. I'm gonna read it.
You couldve just took the stand off and slid the razor out and ive noticed whilst you were talking that you have the base on the wrong way the grooves on thr base plate are meant to be pointing up wards so theres a bend in the base that bends the razor blade
Good tips. Not sure why people have to wait until January to set those goals. By any chance did you comment on a Jess Greenash video before? I was surprised how she spoke about certain thing everybody does by themselves but we never ever dare ourselves to be honest enough to admit it ☺️. Maybe you remember which video haha!
Excellent vid😍
Hey Do you know what phase you are in after 3 weeks of coming of the mini pill? I really want to eat the correct foods but I'm unsure to what phase or even if I'm in what yet
You have to ovulate before your period comes but it completely depends on the person with how long that takes. Look out for signs of EWCM and tracking your temp to see if you’ve ovulated or not already.
@@HayleyMichelle12337 thank you so much !
Hey ? Lovely video. I was wondering how long the withdrawal bleed takes because it's been 3 weeks and nothing 👀?
Hiya, thank you. I didn’t have a withdrawal bleed, just a normal period 23 days after I stopped taking the pill. Average is around 4-6 weeks so fingers crossed it will come soon for you 😊
@@HayleyMichelle12337 oh😳 I need to get my diet in check , unprepared for the cramps that are yet to arrive. Thank you hun x
I didn't know they still had them razors they look a bit like the ones they had in the 50s
I remember all them symptoms well after coming off the pill a year ago I was on the pill for 15 year's its too long I started to suffer with breathing difficulties due to the pill
I'd like to share my personal experience with this and just have it out there for anyone who can find anything they relate to, as I struggled to find much like this when I was going through this last year (so thank you SO much for this video!) - I went on the pill around age 14 to kick start my puberty and periods. I was on the pill where you have a break for a 'period' once a month. That would have been around 1998 or 99. - Late 2010 I was told I shouldn't be on that pill because of my family history of stroke/heart attacks and they moved me to Cerelle/Cerazette (I think the same thing just from different brands - I think the latter is cheaper for the NHS to supply). I LOVED not having periods! I also lost weight as soon as I went on this one, just before my wedding so bonus! - I came off the pill in August 2020, so that my body could sort itself out and then think about trying for a baby. - My periods *kind of* came back in December 2020. I'm talking 2-3 days of brown spotting, that's it. They've stayed like that with a cycle of 24-27 days. I know it's going to take a while for my body to balance itself out after over two decades of fake hormones in my body. I also appreciate that I'm now 37 and could possibly have left it too late to change my mind on the kids thing. But... - In May 2021 I got pregnant, but had a missed miscarriage at 7+2 weeks. The sac was 9 weeks so my body hadn't realised and needed help to let go, but also the sac was abnormal so they said there was probably a problem with it from the start. So yeah... I'm not sure what my body is doing or what it needs, or how long it needs to heal, but I'm a bit terrified that I've f***ed it up honestly! I also happened to have my first covid jab the day after conception without realising, so I have no idea if that influenced anything - they wrote down the batch number when they sent the remains off for testing but I don't suppose I'll ever know. I'm sorry for the novel here, I just know that I was searching for others who had been on the pill long term when I was coming off mine. Hopefully I can post an update in a few months with better news! x
Oh my goodness I am so sorry 🤭 I hope you were able to conceive in the end or come to terms with not being able to. I think most of us are/were on progesterone only for that reason (mine is that I get aura migraines which make you a higher risk of stroke). So many people on the wrong type for years without knowing. The pharmacists know more than doctors re:this.
@@noon4545 Thank you. Nothing has really changed since I commented 6 months ago. I'm definitely ovulating but I'm not having any visible periods, which doctors don't seem to understand. All the periods, the CM & BBT are like clockwork... but nothing "visible" if you know what I mean 😅 Took me this long to get a doctor to take me seriously, now I'm on the waiting list for a specialist but that could take another 6 months. In the meantime they've said to just keep trying. Bit nervous because I'm not getting any younger, but what will be will be 🧡
@@ClumsinessisaCurse sending love, positivity & all the luck your way ❤! Hope you’re doing okay lovely! X
@@Lozenge95 Thank you! Almost a year and a half have passed now since my original comment and no luck, though they have referred me for IVF so that seems like our final chance. Nobody tells you how hard this can be! I really, really appreciate the thoughts thank you 🧡 x
I have a stainless steel razor from Amazon. It was inexpensive and works WONDERFULLY. I don't store mine in the bathroom at all, I'm paranoid the moisture will get to it. I clean and dry it every time I use it and rotate the blade. It has lasted me two years and I'm still on the sample pack of blades I got, though I'm about to run out! Really it's the best investment I've made. 😻
Can u give the link please?
I have just come on the combined pill after 11 years. I took my last pill 2 weeks ago. No major changes yet but I'm using Natural Cycles now to track my cycle and keep my body 'fake hormone' free. Thanks for the video :)
I suggest check out no sulfates fast hair growth shampoo.
Have you been to the Eden Project? if so, what was your favourite part?
I came off the pill in December, my period started back as normal in January and was normal until April which I was late one week and now it’s not come this month ?? Has anyone else had this? X
