'Moon Moth' is a piece of 'Lunar Pareidolia' I 'discovered' in one of my images. It was a massive honour that the image was shortlisted in this year's Royal Museums Greenwich International Astronomy Photographer of the Year Competition (2022) #APY14

Pareidolia is seeing things where there is ambiguous input. Perhaps, you see a face in a cloud, or an elephant in your coffee grounds. Zodiacal light is an etherial glow that can be seen if you can access low light pollution skies, and as long as the ecliptic where you are is at a steep angle to the horizon. I really enjoyed chasing the zodiacal light and attempting to image it.

Took an opportunity to image Venus close to the planet's upcoming inferior conjunction on the 8th of January 2022. Image acquired with a 150mm Maksutov and a ZWO ASI178MM at prime focus and with an 850nm IR pass filter.

6.5 hours of star-trails played back over 25 minutes. Slow, in a way compared to the speed that these time-lapses are often presented, but still (approximately) 16 times faster than real-time. Equatorial platforms are things that you can put telescopes on which allow a limited amount on equatorial tracking. You level them, point them north and they can give a fairly accurate bit of tracking. The model I've got is the larger one that David Lukehurst offers in the UK - www.dobsonians.co.uk/
