I don't know if it's because I'm using version 5.5, but for the auto closing of the door, "OR" doesn't work for me. I changed it back to "NOR" and it finally works.
Just place your door in the middle of the door frame and you dont need to ajust the values for the door to be closed fully
sometimes the door opens in the other direction even though I am looking in a completely different direction

Works Perfect for me. Just one thing i had to change: On the Location Transform i had to go with 1.000.000.000 instead of 100.000.000 like you did. Another thing: You can just Drag & Drop Variables into existing categories instead of searching them in the details list. And a Suggestion as im working on it right now: An option to either Exit the Inspection or Keep the Item would be great

At minute 6:33, you added Get Player Controller, for some reason it pops up with a target pin instead of Player Index. What node would I put for that pin?

24:55 ___Sprint not working problem (solution)___ For those who have a problem where the sprint is not working and you copied everything in the video correctly, it might be because of the action value because it is kinda known to be broken, but don't worry here's a solution, JUST DONT USE IT! its not necessary and the sprinting mechanic will work just fine without it!

Wonderful tutorial, you're clear, concise and constantly explaining things for laymen like me! I do have a question; having reached the point to test, the door will not respond to my interaction. The only difference between your blueprints and mine (as far as I know anyway) is that I am using a Third Person characters that I have altered to make it work with Tank Controls as the original RE games. I don't have an option to hook up the FirstPersonCamera into the Forward Vector and Get World Scale, only Camera Boom and Follow Camera. I tried to use the Capsule Component of the character class instead, but that isn't working (it isn;t under the Tank Controls character). I'm currently looking into how to add a second capsule in the TankControls BP to see if that's the solution, but I just wanted to ask in case there's something obvious I'm missing! Love the videos, they're brilliant, thanks for sharing this for free with us!
For those who are having issues with the "OnInteract" interface function, "OnInteract" is basically "Interact" in the Interact Interface Function with the output node removed, and the input node changed from Character type to BP First Person Character type. The Interact (message) node in the BP_FirstPersonCharacter Blueprint needs to be updated. Check The video on 3:13 for how it needs to be set up and connected. Hope this helps (and makes sense)

Thanks for a great tutorial! It seems you haven't shown the solution to the stackable items problem. When the stackable items are added not in a row, they are allocated to different slots. Has anybody found a solution to this?

Congrats for this work! I have one issue, when I get out of the box collision, the character doesn't regain walk speed until I press sprint. Also, not always, but sometimes it happens that the cursor cannot be moved when exiting.
just use an event like player collision, make a small box where your player would be when they exit the wall, and when they enter, speed goes to X
The dot Product does not work for me When I print the result it seem to randomly give positive or negative number. Any idea why?

I came across a bug. Even though I set the inventory size to 12, I can't add more than 6 items. Has anyone else encountered this error? (I don't want to go through two hours of tutorials if I don't have to, to see where I made a mistake. :P )

Great video! although i'm having an issue with the sprinting in forward direction only bit, I can't seem to get it working on UE5.5. Also how do i go about making the sprint work in forward, forward left and forward right directions instead of just forward. any help would be appreciated!
Ok managed to figure it out incase anyone else is stuck getting the sprint working in one direction: If you want to run only in forward direction will working in any UE5.X version: you are gonna have to delete the >= (greater than or equal to) node and instead add == (equals) node and have the value in it as 0.0 ok so instead of connecting the green little node that OP does at @23:32 you will instead connect the other little green node on the left that comes from Action Value X to it (== node), now just remove the Action Value connection that is connected to the third pin on AND node and remove the pin, compile and save, now it should work fine. If you want to run in Forward, Forward Left/Right, will work with any UE5.X version: follow the exact steps as above but now in the equals node (==) change the value to 1.0 and connect it to the Action Value Y node which is the closes little green node that OP connects to @23:32, compile and save, now you should be able to run in all forward directions. hope this was helpful to someone!

I fixed a issue which I overlooked: In the Player Blueprint after setting the "Hit Actor" variable, drag the blue line out of it and search for "On Interact" node, then have the line connect to the "Target" pin on that same node. Keep the "Character" pin connected so Self and it should work. For those who may have that same issue, hope this helps.

Interracting with a key item is very difficult due to its small collider. Does anyone know how i could increase the area of an item for the crosshair to trigger the interraction? Maybe creating a new collider and connecting it to the blueprint instead of the "self" node which targets only the item itself. Not sure how I could trigger the interraction on a bigger area intead...

@rfy1867 I figured out the simplest method. Simply create a collision for the item blueprint. Click on the collision to see the details panel. Find "collision presets" in the details panel on the right. Then make sure these settings are active in the Collision Presets: Collision Presets: Custom Collision Enabled: Collision Enabled (query and physics) Object type: World Static Collision Responses: click on ignore. Then most important part: Camera: Block. So the camera rreponse should be the only one set to block, and everything else should be set to ignore in the collision presets. This small config tweak, fixed the raytrace to work interract with the item collisions aswell. Hope it helps :)
