I have that Baltany and absolutely love it.

Cronos or baltany/milifortic or octopus explorer?

I had the "no subdials" version, as a kind of homage to the Nautilus. The finish was exceptional but I resold it for something thinner. However, now with these subdials, it belongs imo to an other category : even if it's a calendar, it has the look of a big chrono, and than completely changes my approach / I think I'm going to buy one.

I bought the "avocado" version of this watch on the 11.11 sale. It was my first experience with San Martin, and I was so impressed that I ordered the root beer version immediately after getting the first one. According to tracking data, it is in a cargo plane somewhere over the Pacific Ocean right now.

The monochrome version that Baltany should have made (branded as Baltany).

Valuable review as always. I'm not really sure why the division in branding if they're both operating at the same price point. Certainly Baltany have a more vintage design aesthetic, maybe they wanted freedom to explore (ha!) more modern homages without diluting the original branding. As for this one, if anything it looks like too good an homage, verging on a clone. It's a decent enough watch at a reasonable price with a popular look.

Good review 👍. I can't see why this isn't just branded Baltany, and I prefer the vintage look of the Baltany you have anyway.

Leave the case and bracelet alone, maybe on adjustable clasp but make the dial and hands more unique. Stick hour hand like the old Rolex and a 12 and 6 dial, all indices or a 2,6,10 - just different.

I don't really care for the Milifortic branding. I would have preferred Baltany to just release these models without tropic dials.

Now I like that dial, better than the Baltany to me. Think I might buy one.

I guess there could be an (eventual?) benefit if they have MiliFortic registered in a different country than Baltany in terms of tarrifs/taxes etc (even if all the watches are made in the same place) ?

Or do what I did a couple of years ago and build your own for half the price 😂. Only differences are jubilee bracelet, red seconds hand and sterile dial.

I agree with you about the size. 35 - 39 mm is the best diameter for normal wrists.

How in heaven is it "stolen" when the design that inspired this watch was abandoned after 1987? Nearly 40 years ago! That design was itself full of elements which had appeared before in other brands. Keep things in context!

Hello can someone please mention how to quick change the month complication? I thought it was the push button on top of the crown but it doesn't seem to be the case. Thanks

Stumbled upon this watch on Ali and had to buy it. I was delighted to find your very thoroughly detailed review while waiting for it to arrive. Thank you! Subscribed and will check out more of your videos.

Be warned: I have ordered and received this watch, and have a small wrist at 6 1/2in which is why I have mostly 36mm to 38mm watches. Yet this is the only watch whose bracelet does not fit! It doesn't have enough screw links to be removed to allow for a proper fit and balance on the wrists. I've even moved the micro adjust to the max yet still not fitting my wrist. I'm utterly disappointed considering how nice the watch is, and let down by a poorly designed bracelet.

I will say the one thing I absolutely do not like about these watches is the crown is not a screw down. To me, you cannot call these watches true divers, even with the locking crown. This is why you see many of these with corrosion inside the movement. Without having a proper screw down crown is a no go as a true "diver" and the irony is Seiko knew this even in 60's- 70's but still made the 6105-8110 without it and I cannot for the life of me understand why. Seem to me it was more effort fitting the case with the small locking pin than a screw down crown. Needless to say this tampered my enthusiasm for the Captian Willard and other early Seiko divers without a screw down crown. They did this same crap replacing the ISO 6425 certified SKX007 with the five replacment loosing the screw down crown and to add more insult, charged more for it. This is why I will always be a Rolex-Tudor fan. They are the definition of a divers tool watch. Even Steeldive knows this, hence a proper screw down crown. The current Seiko reissues, which I just purchased the SBC 317 slim tutrle reissue of the 6105-8000, has a proper screw down crown and even better, drilled lugs for easy strap changes. At a PX base in 1970, a Tudor 7021 Submariner would have been about $20 more than the Seiko 8110 and with a proper screw down crown and would have been the better purchase.

To those complaining about the screw-down pushers... you just leave them unscrewed, right? How is this 'worse' than pushers that don't screw down and can't go in the water?

Love the look, but wish they kept the prior bracelet.
