Love the video. Any chance you could publish the gps data for this for others to try?
I'm guessing that's Talybont reservoir? Water level looks low, given the ghastly "summer" we've had in south Wales.
FFS, don't light fires, mate.
What bikes do you do have mate? Would you say a full suspension is good for bikepacking?
Really enjoyable vid. One thing - I think the elevation on your day by day route summary should read metres and not feet ! Total for the route should be about 12000 feet.
whats the law on camping on scafell pike ?
👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Great video and you showed the true beauty of the west highland way which you seldom see on other video. So good to see you taking your time and taking in the peace and tranquility together. Thank you
👍👍🇮🇳🇮🇳❤❤ Kerala South India
FANTASTATIC. XX
Skyfall
If I ever get the chance, I would also do it a bit more slowly like you did
Those racks look awful and make a good case for soft bikepacking bags, particularly on rough terrain like Dartmoor. They didn't stop you having a great time though. Not saying you can't get decent racks but they'll cost you a bit. I use old Blackburn racks and everyone speaks highly of Tubus.
Well done. Looking forward to doing some tramping in Scotland . Did a motorcycle trip there in 2019. Loved it . Only heavy rainy day was in John o groats .
Travelling by car to Scottish highlands with family. How easy is it to find campsites (tent) ?
I really enjoyed your video. Thanks for sharing your journey!
Walked the WHW by myself last year. It also was my first long distance hike and my first time in Scotland. I took my time as well and walked it in 10 Days. What a great experience, had good memories by watching your film. Thx for sharing.
Great production. Very professional. Captured the joy and beauty of the trail. Did the WHW back in May and still missing it. Great to revisit it with you.
Loved this vid, what a good job.neat editing, good filming, fantastic adventure.. thank you for sharing.Bravo !
Thank you so much!! ☺️ glad you enjoyed it!!
he's like a main character from a game, that talks to himself out in the open world
I have just returned from competing the WHW again. I find end of may early june best time. Not too hot not too cold or rainy and definitely best of all not many midges
Amazing well done! That was exactly the time we did it too and it was great :)
how can you bike pack with no tools, not a good idea in the middle of nowhere
Adds to the adventure 😜
@@FindingTrails i think not.
That was good now watched all three of the videos from the three of you guys. Makes me want to get my tent back out after over 20 years!! Look forward to your next outing.
Thank you very much and thanks for watching :) Definitely get the tent back out! You’d never regret a camping adventure.
Would love to give it a go
Do it!! Was good fun
you did all this while Fasting? Masha Allah (God has willed it)
Was tough but worth it!
Awesome footage, subscribed❤
Thank you very much 😊
You are so mischievous, letting Aya ride downhill in the rain with no brakes! Haha. She is such a trooper. Well done, Aya, we are glad you survived your first bike ride.
Haha the problem is …try to stop her!! 😂 luckily we’ve now kitted her out with a new bike … video coming soon!
Hello from Switzerland! What a beautiful region. It's a shame that your camera gives very hard/contrasted images that are generally too dark (or too light) as is often the case with Gopro. Now, there's a revolution with the Insta360 X4, but it's still an investment to make. I have 2 travel bikes (one with a belt) with V-brakes rims and I recommend using BBB Tristop pads (very cheap). They even brake a little harder when it rains (you can also loosen the cable a little). Rim brakes are ideal when you're loaded and descending long mountain passes, they don't break down, they don't lock the wheels (which can cause falls) and the vintage system = durable! For the balance of Aya's bike, I'd recommend fitting small panniers at the front and avoiding a heavier pannier on one side. Bonne route^^
Hello!! Yes it’s beautiful - as is Switzerland! Perhaps an upgraded GoPro is in our future😄
Fucking 1 minute in and already had a commercial break x2..wtf is wrong with the world
Mans gotta eat! 😂
I really enjoyed this video, thank you. It was beautifully filmed, some great shots and good quality video too. Have to say that your packs looked quite heavy, I guess the video equipment and drone must have been part of that. All that kit and you forgot to take a couple of sporks? 🤣
Thank you for watching - glad you enjoyed it 😊. We probably made them look heavier than they were lol but the camera and drone equipment and chargers definitely adds a fair few kg 😅
Absolutely amazing cheers visit the himalayan mountains k2 and Nangaparbat view point from one place
Thank you for watching! Yeah those mountains are epic - we’d be lucky to see to them one day!
Great tour video but consider LNT re lighting fires. It's not a sustainable activity with the numbers of people doing this.
Thank you for watching 😊 and thanks for the advice!!
Looks an amazing adventure, out of interest, which tor did you camp on? Looks quite a lot like King's tor.
It was!! Thank you for watching ☺️. Ahh it was a while ago so can’t quite remember but that definitely rings a bell!
Hi, what tent are you using?
It’s the MSR hubba hubba. Great tent!
watched a few of these in my preparation for doing the walk this May and yours has been one of my favourites , cant wait now.
Aw thank you!! We did it in May and we had the best time. Hope you enjoy it!!
Hi there. I was wandering if you needed permission from the national trust to wild camp on Scarfell Pike?. Looking at going there very soon. Your channel is amazing to watch.
Exactly what I was going to ask did you need permission?
Hello! I would sense check this against latest guidance but at the time our research said we could camp above the highest fell wall on hills anywhere in the lakes. Do check this before going out though as we haven’t camped there since this video!
why are there absolutely no trees on this beautiful mountain? Mountains at this altitude normally have a lot of trees.
Good question! We’re probably not qualified to answer without some more research that but I’d imagine the terrain is too rocky in parts!
Nive video 😊 Greetings from Sweden
Thank you for watching!! Hello from Scotland!
Lovlyyy n fun
Was great fun - thank you for watching!
I'm glad that Aya enjoyed her first bikepacking trip 🙂🏕🚴♂️👍
She loved it!! Thank you for watching :)
Hi are you guys on hard tails
Hello - yes we are
I need friends like these.
You need to be that friend….
I am that friend, but where are the other two?
@@linlinlixin2637 You will find them along the way, dont wait for them to arrive to set off.
Please could you post a lonk to the Strava or GPX files?
Ah sadly we don’t have it handy but will try to dig it out!!
Hi guys! It is fantatic adnenture - I've been all the time with you in my mind. 💚🍀. It is also amazing inspiration. I add this trail to my "must go" lust. I send greetins to you. By the way is there any possibility to by some food somewhere or I have to take food for whole hike? Ps. Subscibed and I'll be watching your advemtures. See you on the trail!😀😉
Hello!! Thank you very much. Definitely one to add to the list - we are even thinking of doing it again :)
Big backpack is completely destroying bike packing experience
It certainly made it more tough! We’ve stopped using it since
Just watched your video and really enjoyed it. I have done the West Highland way a few times over the last few years. Please tell me what time of the year. Did you do this and where did you camp at twenty three minutes
I suspect this was mid to late May. There were plenty of bluebells out when I was on the WHW at that time of year. But our weather was not nearly as nice!
Thank you very much! It’s beautiful isn’t it. We did it end of May into beginning of June in 2022 and were very lucky with the weather
loved it apart from the whole Lake thing obv😁
Thank you!! 😅
Just stumbled across this great film in anticipation of my own attempt to walk the WHW next Spring. Loved it so much! Apart from a bit of rain seems like you had fantastic weather, well here's hoping....
Thank you very much!! Hope you enjoyed your trip - if it was May you must have had great weather too!
Cinematography is fantastic, drone shots are the only ones I’ve seen and super great, dialogue is just right, music enhances your vlog . Great stuff and so enjoyable, thank you.
Thank you very much!! 😊
Great experience. We did the Cumbria way in the summer in preparation for taking on the WHW next spring. Nice video, although I must admit, I fast forwarded the footage of you having a wash, not sure why you chose to film that but hey, 😊. Much Love The Shackletons 😊
Thank you for watching! Hope you enjoyed your adventure. Aw no you missed the best bit 😂
