i bought mine for 200$ and paired it with 4000mhz 14 15 15 28 ram with tight timings this ram unlocked the true performance of this cpu and its rly good even today

The QQYB 9900K sample goes for less than $170 and can easily be overclocked up to 4.8GHz, it should be the default upgrade for anyone still rocking an 1151 board. Even a Z170/270 user can just mod their BIOS to get Coffee Lake CPUs running. We're in 2024 and Skylake still holds up well.

Yes while an i9-9900K can give you a good 4 years of performance buying one in 2024, buying one at full MSRP is insane.

The 9900K is sought out, because it's Intel's 1st consumer grade i9 desktop CPU. They'll display it on their shelf, long after it becomes obsolete. Just like the 1st Apple Mac is now very expensive to buy.

i purchased my 9900k in 2018 and its still going strong.

9th gen is a solid cpu. i'm even still on 9700k z390 ddr4.

Had to pull the trigger for $90 to get the 9900kf, better than sticking on the 9600k.

Does the bios support auto start on power supply or do we have to press the power button to start everytime?

Intel's next generation is actually expected to be branded as "2nd gen Core Ultra" rather than "14th gen Core". They're discontinuing the i3/i5/i7/i9 brands. Hopefully that will convince people who think an obsolete CPU is good in 2024 "because it's an i7/i9" to finally buy something new.

I recently picked up one of these mbs too and went for a budget build, then that quickly changed to a custom water cooled loop lol

Reason being is the pple dont want to change the mother board and a cooler (in some cases).. so they have a B360 MB and want to go the top dog to post pond updates.

I got up this morning. Want to debug 11900k overclocked 5.2 I entered bios and tried offset voltage mode +0.1 After turning on the computer, I immediately turned on cpuz and found that it was 1.7v. I immediately turned off the computer. The core temperature of aida64 suddenly reached 60 or 70 degrees I shut down immediately Re-debug offset-mode No programs are running 1.7v for a few seconds is fine for the CPU, right? Will it have any impact on the CPU?

He's talking brand new in box obviously theyr expensive . 8700k still going for 350+ brand new,. 9900k They selling around 140/170 bucks on ebay and that is a beast of a cpu considering it still goes strong in late 2024 and stillcan play anything strong

I see them around 250-350 on eBay now, and that is still ridiculously expensive. I was looking at upgrading from an 8700k and dropping in a 9700k (after my Ryzen 3600's motherboard died), but no way. I'd do it for maybe $150, max that CPU is worth. For the price of the 9900k, I could easily buy a Ryzen 5700 and a cheaper B550 mobo.

I’m going through my own nightmare with secret labs customer care, I spent about $3500 aud on the full setup with the all the bells and whistles, in the order there was a few pre order items that wouldn’t be available till a later date, I emailed them and asked if I could get the table and chair shipped and that I wouldn’t mind waiting on the other items to be shipped on a later date. I also told them I was more than happy to pay for any extra shipping and handling costs. 1 Month later and over a 100 emails back and forth I still haven’t received my order. My brand new custom built pc and monitor are sitting in boxes in a room and I can’t use them. This company is a complete joke when it comes to their loyal and new customers.

I'm considering a 9900k because I currently have an i5 9600k. It would fit the same socket meaning I don't have to change my motherboard and ddr4 ram (64gb). If I could find a motherboard that took a newer CPU but allowed me to keep my ram I'd be happy to go newer.

Because it's an absolute beast of a CPU and if you have a LGA1151 processor, this is a great CPU. With a modern GPU like a 3080 or 4080 you can run 4K/Ultrawide without the CPU bottle-necking.

Bought 2 of these for like $35 each and they kick butt, even with just 4GB ram and 16GB SSD .The video playback even does 4k on youtube. Installed XFCE Mint and SSD was about 70% full o.O Will prolly get a bigger SSD going forward. So if you want to just use the SSD that's in there I'd recommend the smallest distribution you can get away with. Considering they come with bluetooth and wifi as well they're a real steal atm. When installing had issues for Mint where almost at the end of the install it couldn't write to /dev/sda "fatal error". Tried a few things, and what got it to work was to use LVM partitions during install (just tick the LVM box)

Still using a 9900k from 5 years ago paired with a 4070ti. Yes, some games dont run the gpu at 100% utilization but since alot of modern games are taking advantage of DLSS3/frame generation I can see myself keeping it for another couple of years, maybe abit longer 👍

🤓 I found this very interesting as I've been looking at getting a "New for Me" system mostly for LR Classic and perhaps future basic Video Editing. If I am remembering correctly the 10th gen i5 processors have at least 4 cores & 8 threads while the 9th gen have fewer threads than 8. (All i7 gens have at least 4 cores & 8 threads.) I was expecting more of a difference in processing time of the i7 compared to the i5 but the user experience was a lot better if I heard you correctly. Thanks for the video! 😀

I just priced up my parts, and in uk, I could get based on recent selling buy now data on ebay, over £700 for my i9 9900k and my gigabyte aorus master motherboard with 64gb hyper x ram. But I would have to deal with all the scammers, and ebay siding with scammer on parts which I know work perfectly. So what would I do. well if I was upgrading, it would be cash on collection. they see it working, see it do a benchmark, and then hand over a little less cash. or I'd let my gf have it, which is probably the more likely case. and then sell her system which is my older system with an i7 8700k upgraded because I needed more power.

I may have to sell my i9 9900k while its still worth that. Plus its a gold sample which I couldn't care less about, but they give a premium too.
