    My car battery starts losing voltage as soon as the auto stop gets triggered. I have to shut the car off and turn it back on when that happens, otherwise the battery will die completely. If i restart it, the battery goes back to normal voltage. Does this sound like the alternator or something else?

    Just did 1 AKL 22 but car is not acting at all. Programmed a VVDI remote I even had 1 original from mk3 brand new in the box, but to my suprise when I opened it, And readed after I was trying to program it so hard but wasn't going through. so the key state was f locked already without me programming it to the vehicle. I have to recheck tomorrow to see why car is not starting.

    Great video 👍 think I might have to replace my valve cover gasket. Long story / short version needing a reply. Started noticing oil consumption followed by a bluish, white smoke and occasional darker smoke from exhaust while driving or at high acceleration. No visible oil leaks anywhere. Then after some time, I'm driving one day, the car starts to idle rough at a stop light followed by what felt like a fuel blockage with the car struggling to accelerate when hitting the gas followed with shaking of the car. Did some research and immediately changed the spark plugs for the first time since purchasing the car used (2016 Hyundai Sonata 2.4). That cured my sluggish problem and car was back to feeling normal as far as power and acceleration goes but still getting poor gas mileage, noticable oil consumption and smoke from the exhaust. 3 months later I'm having same sluggish issues again from spark plugs going bad. This time changing spark plugs I noticed actual oil residue from the 3rd plug and the other 3 spark plugs looked to be burnt already too. 3rd time changing plugs now and needed answers. Found your video and now think the gasket may be the issue but noticed you mentioned to another comment that it could be valve stem seals in concern with their particular issue. In short from diagnosing from my comment, would you be comfortable with going ahead and doing the valve cover gasket and fuel pressure pump gasket replacement as you did in this video to try and solve my problem, as that is something I can do but I won't be able to do the valve stem cover seal replacement as it looks like a more complex job than just these two gaskets that you are doing in this video. I'd hate to waste the time replacing the valve cover gasket if it is actually a more deeper issue. Thanks in advance if you or anyone else can reply to my question.

      Hi AMBER , I would definitely recommend advanced diagnostic smart bro. It is a great tool . With that being said, they are more affordable options however, they will not have the capabilities that the smart pro is equipped with. So this would just depend on your financial situation and your needs. If you want top quality, this is it.

    • @thecarlotmechanic4531
      @thecarlotmechanic4531 Год назад

      The best way is an air compressor and blow them out put a rag over the hole and then blow them out . Next way would be Using a paper towel or shop rag and stuff it down the whole . Then with the screwdriver kind of move around the rag or the paper towel collecting the oil.

    Fantastic guide. Kudos to you! I had a misfire around 80,000mile. Replaced plugs. Noticed I had oil in two of the spark plug wells. Not alot of oil but enough to notice. At the time I was unaware of tube seals and that was becoming an issue then. I was always a quart or two low on oil at oil change intervals. Now I have 105,000 miles. Noticed a oil leak on the back side of valve cover. At this point I am adding a quart of oil every 500 miles to keep it topped off. I am almost certain at this point both the valve cover gasket and tube seals are both leaking. I plan to replace the fuel pump gasket, pcv valve, and new plugs just to make it all right. Hopefully this solves my oil consumption issue or at least slows it down. Thanks!

    • @neodidi
      @neodidi 2 года назад

      It should.. Don't know what's called... I think it is the tube seals or so.. But the circuit stuff that goes by the left side new the reservoir.. The whole assembly should be replaced.. Should be $80 or $100 and somewhat easy to replace if you have an engine lift thing. Changing that and this valve cover thing would solve the problem.. And yeah, changing the plugs too would be staying safe.. I've been doing a bunch of research on this car cause I intend getting one soon as my first car.. I love the design and general value for money.. Tips would be appreciated.

    So you don’t show the hard part like removing the lower bolts. Makes people wonder if you did it or had some one else do it for you either way would be a great video if you showed how you got them out exactly like tolls and how you accessed them just a suggestion. I need to do it so I guess I am just being selfish lol sorry it was great video.

    Nice video. Word of advice, be extremely careful with high pressure fuel lines. There have been some major accidents related when relieving the pressure of these lines. I believe they sell bulky gloves that protect your hands. But if you search "oil injection injuries" it'll give you a eye opener on how serious these injuries have become. Yes, it's gasoline, but it is also danagerous, including water at high pressure is extremely dangerous. The body is just not made to get injected at those high pressures. The person it happened to said it felt like a snake bite. And the doctors had to cut open his hand to release the fluid because his hand swelled up so much. Just a looking out.

    I replaced the gasket on my car as well. Seems to have stopped the oil leak. Only issue is now I'm noticing a gas smell coming from the front of the engine when my car is idling. Not seeing any fuel leaking under the car. Some gas sprayed out of the high pressure fuel pump when I disconnected it, but I'm pretty sure I reconnected everything correctly and I even cleaned around it where the gas sprayed. Has anyone else had this problem after they changed their valve cover gaskets?
