British during WW1... "Lets keep plenty of spare ammo and powder in the turret to make faster firing." Germans: "Bet"
Absolutely top work, wonderfully detailed, simply incredible work and very understandable for everyone, my high regard for this work from you, hopefully we'll see more of it, thank you.🫵🫵👌👌👍👍🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡
Did they ever push the ship that it was on into active contact?
If the gun was highly elevated, wouldn't the shell slide back to the powder bags?
Which ship have this mount?
pretty standard layout for most British battleships
Very cool video !
So this is what my naval crews in war thunder are doing. Gotta up them crew points fr.
If having to reset the gun to below 20° was not a normal situation for all navies, so basically a limitation in physics across the board, it was a huge design flaw
I’ve never seen anybody explain how that breach block was made…
Love to find a large scale model of this in brass.
historia civilis music, I was expecting some squares to show up
Unbelievable what humans effort to kill other humans 😐
Since primordial apes.... always have done, always will do.
You made a perfect explination. Thank you for uploading.
Now I know what that lad was screaming in "Sink The Bismarck" during the loading scenes. RIGHT GUN SHELL! RIGHT GUN FIRST HALF CHARGE! RIGHT GUN SECOND HALF CHARGE! I've been wondering what he was screaming for 50 years. Thank you!
This is excellent stuff
I just unserstood that this thing can be operated by ONE SINGLE PERSON
Incredible work putting this together. I had no idea how this process it worked, or how much coordination was involved.
What about the propellant? Only the projectile shown.
A weak cannon. The British were never able to master the production of large-caliber barrels and used outdated technologies.
cope + no source probably a wehraboo
Hahaha... comedy gold !!!! Who said nazi fanbois had no sense of humour !!!!
Why are they using 12 inch charging bags? 🤪 But seriously, well done!
What year is this piece of engineering invented?
That gun is giguntic
All brave people. I cant imagine knowing you might literally blow up before you take your next breath.
Watch this and the crew positions and responses and then go watch the movie “Sink The Bismarck from 1956. The turret scenes were all filmed in HMS Vanguard on real 15” guns similar to HMS Hoods guns. All the scenes even the German turrets are in Vanguards turrets . Best shots ever of the loading procedure primarily from the #4 ratings position.
Booooooo+----++Ringgggg,,,
This is absolutely mental. Well done!
Sorry. Great video but can't follow. The video should start at the bottom and work its way to the finish at the top of the turret. Why show it backwards?
Hm, it appears considerably more technical skill is required to get a gun laid than oneself.
Confusing and incomplete presentation.
这是什么3d软件制作的呢?
Blender
@@rnbreech4194 I also use blender, but the texture of metal has never been so good, like glass gold, how do you do it? What tutorials do you recommend? Will there be a tutorial?
For the metal material I used the standard Principled BSDF material. for rendering I used: HDRI lighting (with ambient occlusion enabled) ambient occlusion in post processing Basic Freestyle settings to get outlines I also changed the Blender color management to "Filmic" to control exposure and contrast.
@@rnbreech4194 I see. Thank you very much
Great animation! Such different mechanisms from the US ones - I wonder which system was quicker or more reliable?
Could you please do a video with the 16 inch Mk I of the Nelson-class...

That was superb.
What was presumed to have been taking place at Jutland? Where would unapproved out of magazine propellant charges have been placed and how could such a manual practice speed up semi-automated gun firing?
The photographs linked below are from the Vicker's photographic archive taken during the construction of the "Kongo" battlecruiser for Japan. The gun mounting and working chamber are almost identical to the 15 inch mounting. At the bottom of the Kongo revolving trunk, both charge and shell are loaded into the shaft from the same deck (this is split between 2 decks for the 15 inch mounting). The charges loaded into the shaft are tranported from the magazine as required. Perhaps this is where the crew could "stockpile" additional charges to speed up the process gun mounting collections.dockmuseum.org.uk/mwebcgi/mweb?request=record;id=22173;type=101 working chamber collections.dockmuseum.org.uk/mwebcgi/mweb?request=record;id=19489;type=101 Bottom of revolving trunk collections.dockmuseum.org.uk/mwebcgi/mweb?request=record;id=19642;type=101
@@rnbreech4194 The middle picture flash proof ‘box’ briefly held the charges with either the magazine or upper hoist flash doors closed at a given time. The ‘box’ would have to be partially dismantled to allow the flash protected charges to be accessed, the stupidity of such an action must have been obvious to everybody present. Why did any officer in charge not raise a stink and make this widely known? Could all the very senior officers really have been unaware of such extremely dangerous practices? The new gunnery Warrant Officer officer on Lion got things changed but it went no further than that one ship. It must have been the universal practice at the time?
annoying irritating intrusive awefull background noise. turn it off
Brilliant. Thanks so much.
WW1 gun that ended up being the best the Royal Navy had to offer in WW2.
And the reason that this animation is all we have left today is that Britain was too cheap to keep at least _one_ of her glorious battleships around after the war. Not even HMS Warspite was spared from the breakers, probably the most important symbol ever for the tenacity and the sacrifices of _three_ generations of British sailors all the way through _two_ world wars. From Jutland to the beaches of Normandy and beyond - then off to the scrap yard. But hey, the main thing is to keep your royals and other moneyed elites in unimaginable comfort and luxury.
And in the movie "battleship" Rihanna did this all by herself. 😉

A Brilliant scheme
Very Great Job.Could you tell me how to get those blueprints.Thank you.
Great Animation & detail..monotonous music..perhaps something else or none at all..
Well done
Sometimes the internet gets me down, each time when looking for some obscure online information you're confronted with SO much utter rubbish and irrelevant nonsense.... and then every once in a while you stumble on something of truly OUTSTANDING value, a veritable work of art. THIS is one of those moments. This is the sort of illustration that shows me what all the books in the world could NEVER convey, and what the internet is truly capable of when used to its full potential by a master. Thank you VERY much for this work of mechanical art.
Put it at 2x speed and put free bird over the top
if rammer injects methyl alcohol from injector to second magazine; by retracting chain; to push injector; as injecting magazine; to expel methyl alcohol from injector; 1 each from 4 quadrants; and then fire; the shell; there be less debris to clean up after; and if we add RF ignition to ignite both magazines at same time; its cycles over and over say 2 second intervals; and when stopped from outside its triggered to stop as get fired; such should make shell go longer distance; because ethyl alcohol is more of problem; than methyl alcohol;
This is cleaver enough but think about the geniuses who designed the mechanism. Respect!
