Yes, yes, yes. I agree with your comments 100 percent. As for myself, the place in my wallet that American Express occupies is as a "charge" only card. After reviewing their web site this Spring, I applied for an American Express business "Plum" card which, came with a simple statement credit welcome offer after spending $20,000 (so, no way for me to spend this high amount), no welcome points, and no 2x, 3x, 4x rewards. To date, without changing my spending habits this card has been meeting all of my needs (smile ... smile).

Notes from your significant other holds more value than anything else in that wallet. I always keep mine on display as well.

Love Chase but they have too many overlapping categories. Not all cards in the trifecta should have 3x on dinning. The Unlimited should also be 2%.

I completely understand your points here and very much agree. However, I find a ton of value by having the Schwab Platinum, Gold and Green. The Schwab Platinum allows me to transfer my MR points into my Schwab investment account at 1.1 cpp. With frequency, time and growth I get my annual fees back easily year over year. Screw using points for travel. Use them for compound interest! 😊

Having the other capital one savor card, I would go for the venture x. This is my current plan as well.

After for two years I only got $200 dollar credit limit increase unbelievable. I got other credit cards like AAA daily advantage they gave me $2500 credit limit increase

I have mixed feelings about C1. But, if you ever plan to get the VentureX, I’d get it now. C1 tends to prefer people who are early in the credit card game. They often deny people who are more experienced with lots of cards. You’re probably on the border line, so I’d go for it now. Each card you attain takes down your odds of C1 approval. Congrats on the Preferred! It’s consistently one of the best cards around.

I am with you: useless credits, high fees, not accepted in many places abroad. AMEX forces its customers to spend $$$, they otherwise wouldn’t. Staying away from AMEX.

Prioritize VX or you may get denied for too many cards. Its a solid card. Easy to justify AF and still has a lot of nerfing room before it doesn’t punch above its weight class. Hiltons are just there for the sub. Plat gold status is good enough for me.

Now that you got the Chase CSP card, you may want to consider getting the Hilton Honors card next. If you want to be able to get the Welcome offer on both the Hilton Honors and Hilton Surpass card, you'd want to start with the Hilton Honors (NAF) version. The NAF Hilton card also has a pretty low spending requirement and obviously you have six months to spend that. The Hilton Honors card is a great card. I've had it for just over a year and I really like it. I'm actually contemplating applying for the Hilton Surpass card after I apply for the CSP. The Venture X is a good card to go for after the Hilton card. Since you're still fairly early in your credit card journey, you should have a good chance at being approved. However, Capital One can be inquiry and application sensitive so you may want to wait several months after getting your last card.

Congrats with the csp its a great card. I would say get the Hilton card next (you just added a travel card with csp) Hilton will be your first hotel card, then get the venture x......

Especially if you take your time with these sign up bonuses. You might want to think about getting like the citi double cash or custom cash for really good cash back cards without annual fees. It seems like you have liked really practical redemptions in the past.

a lot people use their chase UR points for hyatt. So you should probably get the venture X for flights and more flexible travel.
