Problem I have with these amps is they seem overly bright and harsh, lacking warmth. I sold my Mark V for that reason. Funny you are playing the tunes I played last night. Good stuff.
No pick, no shirt, no problem.
Nope
which speakers do you use in your cabinet
Mesa Celestion Vintage 30
It would appear that JCM 800, not Mesa, was a stapple for Metallica early amazing sound, and that tight pronounced mid section.
hello could I add you on discord or somewhere to talk please? ty
Totally amazed, awesome
too scooped bro, lambchopper678 will show you how to do it properly
Sounds perfect! And still no bass.
that's a bernie mardsen signature right?
Yep
Did you say the eq is in the loop, or I front? Noice tones brother 👍😎🙏
Both eqs set in the loop
sounds better on it's own without any EQ imo
The first song was Rose of Sharyn by Killswitch Engage for those curious
that sounds amazing. can you please do one for the black album? i have the tone digitally but not analogue. thanks
Any boost on front ? What kind of humbuckers and speakers did you use ? Cheers
That empress sound killer! People always ask me about it, but I don't have one myself. Great video!
2204 - the best!!
What guitar use?
I never liked my VII. Never had enough low end bite. Sounds twang.
I always had trouble with that AC/DC lick. Never could get it to sound right......
had mine for at least 15 years before all the pots and everything started going so then I traded it for something different. I sure do miss it. I took the Ruby tubes out of mine the day I bought it and replaced them with groove tubes. I don’t know if it made a difference or not.
No trivium or BFMV is nasty work
Hi! Nice tone! So, the cab is a 1960 vintage with 2 Mesa v30s and 2 Classic Leads in X pattern?
Running crunch mode in 25w feels the best but is too low of a power setting if you're using a high gain mode on ch3 in 90w mode. Gotta drop ch3 to 45w mode or bump ch2 up to 45 if Ch3 stays at 90w. I also think that IIB mode should have been on channel 2 and MK VII mode should have been on CH3. IIB is a REALLY good crunch channel but if you use that, you have to push the crunch mode really hard if you want high gain sounds. I thin MK VII mode is best suited for mid-gain sounds. Overall I'm absolutely loving my VII.
Cool mix of tunes! Sounds great - very Jubilee like.
Clean and Clear Crunch, I Dig it! - What cab/speakers are you running it through?
Still trying to find a useful setting for vii mode , gonna deep dive this weekend with it .. may use an separate eq in the loop to scoop out the wooliness
Great amp ! I think this, an EVH and a Marshall is all anyone would ever need.
Sounds great !!! 🤟🤟
I am sorry, but I think Marshall sounds better for this type of music, Ozzy Osbourne, GnR...
Use Your Illusions One and Two were Marshall and Mesa Mark IV mixed. Still my favorite Slash sound.
Why tf didn't they put the Mark VII mode in the third channel and the IIB mode in the second? Dumb decision on Mesa's part imo.
Because the elderly people would complain that they HAD to have a high gain channel and the metalheads would complain that they HAD to have a crunch channel. This way the elderly can have two crunch channels and the metalheads can have two high gain channels.
Thing about these new Boogies' is that you MUST sit with it, tweak it, feel it.....just saying. Been a Mesa mark series cat forever......
It's like the anti-Dual Rectifier.
Facts. No shirt= faster down picking. Dont question the science.
Yeah!! Love that snarly mid range
Fk yeah dude!!!! Rock on!!!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Bro, Gibson Explorer sounds way thicker and strong!
Yep, The Gibson sounds definitely thicker!
Помоему, самый оптимал из Маршаллов для дома))))))

Ну футболку можно надеть, а вот пузо не получится убрать😆😆😆
U don’t know how to spell bro
I’ve got couple old boogies, ’86 mkiii+ and ’86 studio series (before it was named studio 22), both with ev12l. Definitely they sound similar, studio works better at lower volumes and is, i think, somewhat overlooked amp. Studio is a bit smoother, reminds me of mark4. Lovely amps and when I was a kid i dreamed owning these one day.
Sounds badass
А вот и Металлика от Дэна))

Hoping to grab myself a V here in the next couple of months, hopefully
Thanks! Just Iphone🙂. I was’t digging in deeply, but it s really more representative do recording with iPhone. Grate mics in it, showing the real raw sound.
One tip: Keep using Iphone, I've switched to Google Pixel and I think sometimes sound is less consisent even though all "enhancing" options are disabled. Maybe it is some clipping issue or whatever. I am always doing phone+mics mixed videos and Iphone was very consisent, while with others I was getting kind of phaser effect sometimes (so testing a new phone one time not enough). It is like audio recording frequency isn't as stable. And phones are good in general to capture in room, real sound, despite of stereotype that guitar mic is the best to capture the sound. Sometimes it is hard to pick up differences when recorded using mic and yet phone manages to capture that :)
Really great sounding amp, how was recording? With SM57 mic ?
