And if you want to know more about ole classic artists and guitars, Steve Winwood, despite his skills at keyboards, a guitarist also. Go dig up old live footage of Winwood with Traffic playing Dr. Mr. Fantasy, there Winwood using a Gibson Reverse Firebird in strange green finish! Not sure that has any extraordinary aspects of tone or sound, but Steven Stills used a Firebird Type 1 when he with Crosby, Stills, Nash, Young and dig up the old 74 video performance of Almost Cut My Hair to see him playing it, as well as young Neil Young with his staple Les Paul.

The tone is so awesome Clapton gets cause it is not simply a Telecaster, but a Tele Custon body with an old Fender Stratocaster neck attached! Other aspects left off as in live performance Marshall stack amps, but in studio may been using Fender Bandmaster amp and the original album recording pretty much has some tonal qualities original album vs this live performance, extra watts and more volume the only difference?

It's funny to remember all the crap thrown at Blind Faith as a supposed commercial supergroup created for money. The music, however, speaks the self-evident truth. This is the kind of loose, jazzed-up, musical rock that Cream was supposed to create, but never did. It's also amusing to remember how Ginger Baker always seemed to come in second or third among "greatest rock drummers," usually behind that slugger John Bonham... as though Bonham could even play this song.

Any band he was in was short lived. He should have been bigger than Jimmy page. Eric is a way better player than jimmy..----that shoplifting pedo---- anyway, great song. Cheers mates.👊🏻

Someone should rewrite this translation (Google translate, with some manual edits where needed) so that it rhymes and has the right metrum. I did some suggestions for popular American folk songs to replace the Dutch ones mentioned. We ride with the Troika through the endless forest It is freezing about thirty degrees, it is winter and quite cold The horse's hooves crunch in the freshly fallen snow It is evening in Siberia and there’s not a lion anywhere We travel with the children, although they are still a bit young Through the endless forest I was just singing about before It is a leafy, shaded and very confusing terrain Where people consider themselves lucky that there are no lions We are on our way to Omsk, but the road there is long And that is why we fill the time with festive singing Meanwhile, something starts moving in the background: Something dark and something numerous which seems unhealthy to me They're still quite far behind us, but I can still see them There's quite a crowd and they're walking quite fast And by following behind us they are overtaking us Which can be unfavorable for a young family The dark figures are particularly quick on their feet They walk on four legs, and they look very mean They have big teeth, that is clearly visible They are probably wolves and vicious at that Even though the situation is worrying, I don't panic I keep my spirits up through folk music We know our collection and we sing quite a lot While the wolves approach at a full trot It is just under a hundred versts from here to Omsk It's pleasant that the horses were just refreshed this afternoon It's a shame that the wolves overtook us after all You can see the big appetite that radiates from their eyes We act very carefree and we’re singing all the time Still, something has to be done under mother's umbrella And without being conspicuous, I consult with my wife "Who has to go first?" I ask, "Come on, tell me quickly." "Is it gonna be Igor?", "No, because Igor plays the violin" "What do you think of Natasja?", "But she learns so well at school!" "What about Sonja?", "No, not Sonja, she has a beautiful alto" So that the choice finally falls on little Piotr. So during the singing I grab the little boy deftly There he flies out of the troika with an eerie cry The wolves pay full attention to that delicacy Eighty-four more versts and “Oh, happy day” We can appreciate Pjotr for his edibility Because that means we'll lose that troup for a while So we rush on as if in a horrible dream And "She’ll be coming round the mountain when she comes" There comes that howl again and our hope is torn apart The wolves are back and now it's gonna be Sonja's turn There goes the poor child, she was so cheerful and so good Another sixty-eight versts and a "Big Rock Candy Mountain" I'm still thinking and my wife sheds many tears And look, the wolves are coming behind us again So Igor, it's a shame, but you're not going to be a virtuoso Another fifty-two versts and "This Land is Your Land" Now that Igor has been removed, we have some peace again But no, there are the wolves again, eager for another piece Natasja's death cry painfully cuts through our souls Thirty-six more versts and "Down By The Riverside" My wife and I are left, so we sing a duet And if we're lucky, we'll just make it there Unfortunately, I have to give her up to the hungry pack Now only twenty versts and "Michael Row the Boat Ashore" I'm singing a bit more cheerfully now because Omsk is coming into view I jump in excitement and I suddenly lose my balance As the wolves devour me, I think, "Well that's bad luck Yes Omsk is a beautiful city, but just a bit too far away" (Troika here, troika there) Yes, you'll see a lot of them this year (Troika here, troika there) There's horsehair everywhere (Troika here, troika there) Always available from stock (Troika here, troika there) The samovar purrs softly (Troika here, troika there) With a Slavic hand gesture (Troika here, troika there) Do it yourself with a needle and scissors (Troika here, troika there) Now isn't that wonderful? (Troika here, troika there) Two half-pastries and a tartare (Troika here, troika there) A charity bazaar (Troika here, troika there) Tribute to the golden couple (Troika here, troika there) Wow, how drowsy you are standing there (Troika here, troika there) Mother, is the coffee ready? (Troika here, troika there) Look, there's an eagle walking there (Troika here, troika there) Is there an abattoir here? (Troika here, troika there) Bass guitar and trick cigar (Troika here, troika there) Well built widower (Troika here, troika there) Long live our good Tsar!
