I ride a lot on steep inclines and hairpins and approaching a downhill hairpin while keeping a sturdy but constant front brake lever pressure, while rev matching and shifting and do everything smooth to not induce a spin on the already light back wheel and keep the bike balanced to get a good lean angle... sure it's fun to do all but after the umptieth time ... a quickshifter with rev matching surely helps. And also, I can choose when I want to have fun and when I want to ride efficiently.

"Technically" every bike has a quickshifter. Meaning you can shift without a clutch. I dont condone this kind of riding as it can cause serious damages to your bike and yourself if not done correctly. But you can up/down shift without clutch by just slightly rolling off the throttle and kicking it into the next gear. I do it all the time with my '22 MT07 *edit as i see many others have commented the same thing, i love bikes with QS, but clutchless is the budget option for QS. Not hating on QS lol

You don't need to use a quick shifter, just do a clutchless shift by releasing the throttle for a moment and shift

I used to set up race car ecus and it blows me away that this feature has become a factory option. We would never have imagined this back then. Those saying "no one cares" simply dont understand how far weve come in even just one decade.

On my Honda 2005 70 I shift without letting of the gas, it’s too small to blow up

I'm not so sure that the bmw is more expensive to maintain than the Honda. In order to access the valves on the Honda, a lot of plastics, and gas tank have to be removed. Whereas the BMW's valves are easy to get to. Honda parts are cheaper though. In any case, both the BMW and Honda are great bikes.

We always reversed our gear shifting, of course you had to remember to tell anyone that you may let ride it

You can do that with every bike if you roll off the throttle right before you shift. No need for a quick shift. Ive always done it with my dirtbikes and now that i have a zx9r i do it with that bike.

I got mine 2 weeks ago. Mine is the DCT. This is my third Honda. Still have the other two. Rebel 1100 DCT and a Goldwing 1850 DCT. Could not be happier.

Quickshifter and doing a manual clutchless (shifting without the clutch) is different A quckshifter allows you to shift without ever letting go of throttle Clutchless shifting as the name suggest allows you to only clutchless shift you still have to let go of the throttle (blip) (rev match) and its relatively slower Also not to mention the quickshifter makes things smooth like butter and it doesn't damage the bike Clutchless up-shifting doesn't do too much damage But doing clutchless downshift will damage the bike if you did it wrong

I think you can do that in almost anything with a clutch as long as your rpms are high enough.

All the motorcycle mechanics, engineers, and professors in the comments going “Um akshually all bikes do this 🤓” are so funny. Guy was just explaining what a quick shifter does. Never said you needed one to shift without the clutch. And they are wrong, yes you can change gears without clutch on all bikes but not the same thing as using a quick shifter. Different things equal the same result. 2+2=4 3+1=4 Different things, same result.

Rev match rigth?

I would like to do that, but I have a little 125 and I listen to the engine to know what speed I'm at, if my dad buys the bike I hope he buys this December, then I will wear earplugs, but I don't really need to for the 125 And I have tinnitus already anyway, so it won't help much The bike is a F650 Dakar

You can do something similar to that without a quick shifter, but it isn't ideal and can damage the gears/clutch plate
