Oh dear Johnny, sitting here with tears in my eyes. My Grandma used to sing When I Grow Too Old to Dream. She lost her husband at age 44 and raised her 5 children mostly by herself but with my mom's help as the years went by. She never married again. She loved her Benny deep in her soul. I was in the hospital for 5 days and just escaped late Monday night to come home. Wasn't on the computer at all but came on and this popped up in my in box. I so needed to hear that perfect voice and see the sweet blue peepers right now. Thank you for this concert. I cherish each tune. Please stay well and again, thank you for posting this. Lovely doesn't quite cover it. GB.

Today was my first Father's Day without my Dad. I went to put flowers at his grave and played this song on my phone. He had dementia. We would stream your shows in TV and he would watch over and over. He loved this song and thought he would have gotten a kick out of it being played in a cemetery.

This is a war song, it should be sung like a march and by a basso or basso-baritone. This is too pretty, too lyrical.

Dear John, I just watched your lovely Father's Day concert and it was heartfelt as always. But this year it was still more moving, maybe because your song Legacy you sang just recently, braught my father's memory so strongly back into my mind. A great Thank you, John 💝🎶🎶🎶

I cry almost every time I hear this song. It makes me think of my father's generation who stormed the Omaha and Utah beach in WWII in an incredible display of bravery, and all the generations before his, who were their role models.

I was taught this song when i was a student in an Army School in Kumasi Ghana. I never heard it played anywhere until the celebration of the D-Day landing on BBC. It too me down memory lane after all these years…some 60 years ago. A great inspiring song.
