I've seen a fair number of videos like this one. I watch them mostly because the algorithm started pushing them on me after I watched some videos on a tangential topic. I understand that this is a natural phenomenon, though not everyone wakes up in each lifetime. The more videos like this that I watch, the less I understand. I don't really watch them out of some intense desire to reach this level of realization, though it would be nice if I did. Perhaps I will stop watching, why would I need such things to wake myself up?

Hi Steve, I feel like I must be thought identified as I’ve had no profound realisation that I’m aware of but, while resting as awareness there are generally no thoughts or at least no binding narratives, how to approach enquiry if I’ve no thoughts to witness? Feels like the ego may be sitting and monitoring but without butting in!

Isn't it a cosmic loneliness, resting as awareness?

Prior to realizing Self inquiry (i) would occupy my days constantly working probably to avoid (my) superego's narcissisticly imposed gaslighting. This did and does appear a monologue, and is treated as a tragic comedy. The witness need not disolve as a dreamer seems present. A quiet Joy in silence.

For me, it seemed through being aware of loss & sadness , a taste of emptiness happened leaving just awareness…. Nothing for me Thank you Steve, your videos help me understand what’s happening 🙏

Remain as a awareness until this solution occurs means there’s you and awareness and solution will occur again duality

Couple of years ago when I was on Stage 4 of Buddhist Enlightenment, while doing Object Meditation, I realised from a feeling perspective, not from a cognitive perspective, who is watching who? Is the Object watching me? It felt like it as if I was the bystander, the observer and then next second as if I was the one being observed (whatever you define as I), so I realised I do not know anything and it might all be an illusion. Thanks for your interpretation of awareness and being.

Happiness is a transitory emotion like anger or sadness. We have these as a result of stimuli. Who wants to stay in a state of anger? Emotions have a purpose as long as we are in a corporeal existance. It is far better to be content with what is, and if good things happen, embrace the happiness and joy as long as it lasts, but do not chase it and try to keep it happening indefinately. Happiness desired brings on more suffering. Sadly, we judge some emotions as bad, some as good. They are all valid and necessary. Just like thoughts that you do not attach to, they will pass and more will come along. It's like watching a play. Try not to identify with what is unfolding, just enjoy the show!
