Brilliant explanation. Thank you.
you just saved me $200 for a new head. i did everything you said, and BOOM it works!!
Very helpful video. But am no handyman like you. Is there any ways to bypass the trigger? ie power on once plug in the battery. This could help me better. Thanks.
You fixed nothing, you just replaced it... :(
@@kosmamoczek “Thanks for your comment! In the context of appliance repairs, ‘fixing’ often involves replacing faulty components, as this is the most effective and reliable way to restore functionality. In the case of the V11 vacuum, components like the motor or circuit board aren’t designed to be repaired-they’re built to be replaced when they fail. To clarify, repairing something doesn’t always mean repairing the individual components on a micro-level, especially when it comes to highly integrated parts like a vacuum motor or motherboard. These parts are not serviceable by design-even by professionals-due to how they’re manufactured. Our goal is to provide realistic, DIY-friendly solutions that actually work, which often means replacing faulty parts rather than attempting impossible repairs. Hope that clears things up!”
I have repaired my V12, was blocage error and pulsing issue. Have changed three hybrid capacirors 270uFx35V to these 330uFx35V Panasonic EEHAZS1V331B caps from Farnell No. 3586323. Now all works as it should.
Thank you very much for explaining this, I was trying to pry it off with a screw driver
Thank you for the video, it helped me swap my brush head :)
thank you so so so much 😍
Hi sir! One question Why if is mother board issue we must replace motor and not only the main?? Thank you
As a consumer and paying for a high end V11 Dyson, I shouldn’t have to take the thing apart to get to the motor to fix it. Dyson online help is worthless, they wanted me to PAY to talk to a technician. WTF?? I live in a very rural area, it’s at least a 3-hour drive to a Dyson repair shop. Very frustrating. I can turn it on, not even move the vacuum and it stops. No Bueno! 👎🏻
Check out this video ruclips.net/video/LNWy_jBBgwQ/видео.htmlsi=Lb9pGszoJamzwGu5 Skip to 1:10 See if this is the same symptoms. From what you describing sound like a motor issue than head. Don’t bother with Dyson technician, they have no interest to help you fix your Dyson vac, all they do is get you to buy a new one . Most of there “technician” are someone in south east Asia with 0 Dyson repair experience
@ Thanks for the info, I appreciate your efforts to assist. Not sure but maybe the motor on my unit is kaput, even if it occasionally works. As I said, a consumer shouldn’t also have to be a technician. And all the parts are plastic and I hate forcing parts that don’t come apart easily. That’s how I busted my canister when trying to remove it for deep cleaning. It took Dyson 3 months to ship me a new one, so there ya go… the part isn’t readily available because the demand for replacement is much higher than they can keep in stock. I’m now using a $59 Bissell till I figure out if my Dyson is worth trying to repair. Except for the PITA of plugging it in around the house, it works great and has saved me lots of frustration!
Your video is pretty pointless because you did not show how you removed the cyclone nor how you insert it back before assembling it with the power trigger part of the vacuum.
Hi, first thank you for the video it has been very helpful, I have a question I changed the trigger and it worked perfect, but once I put the battery to check if it work it gets turn on, I don't need to pull the trigger does that mean I did something wrong. Do you think is the conecciton or something with the trigger? Hope you can help me!!
this main reason is due to the position of your trigger. there is a thicker screw under your handle to hold the trigger in place . if this screw not tight up all the way, the situation you described will happen. other cause could be your screw poster are broken, which means that the screw are not able to hold the trigger up enough. solution is to use a specific longer screw. Have check and let me know how you go
Great video! Helped me so much replacement the lid that fell off when I was dumping the bin in the trash can! Love my Dyson!!!
Glad to hear that
thanks for the great video! saved me $120 compared to the fix that Dyson suggested!
Very glad to hear that. Any questions let us know
Mint video ! The issue I am experiencing is the first fault described, unfortunately a damp filter was accidentally installed before being completely dried out fully. Initially worked then died. My v11 is unique, I used to work for Dyson 5years, I was given my v11 many years before it hit the market , I was a field tester. It’s actually a prototype, that after using for a while gets a MOT and tests as such and a multiple questionnaires to complete, with the aim to keep at the end of the process. So far the issues I have had are - a weak body that cracked and this has been replaced. And the trigger switch cracked/collapsed very common fault and opted for an online seller 3d printed replacement switch that had the necessary weakness fixed, better than the original! Ok so I need a motor only .

Thanks for very ehelpful and detailed video! Unfortunately, the motor motherboard of my Dyson had the same clear coating mentioned in a previous comment. I removed enough of it to access the screws and the tiny connector clip by VERY carefully using a small knife, a sewing needle and fingernails. It worked, eventually, but added a lot of time and exasperation to the process. In the ned, though, the new trigger works and we’re back in operation, so thanks!
Good work , very good advise. I would add do not use a flat head screw driver to remove the glue on the motherboard. There is change of damage motherboard, finger nail is safe option.
On my V11 Dyson the motherboard is covered in plastic like silicone to protect it - so I can't access the Torx screws holding the terminals in place nor can I un-clip the connector (the small piece you use your fingernail to disconnect). I can't remove the plastic / silicone over the motherboard. Have you seen this before?
You can just take out the glue by using your finger nails , don’t use knife or flat head screw driver which could damage your motherboard.
Hi, I disassembled my Dyson V11, But how do I know whether the motor or the motherboard faults? My situation is press the button, vacuum sound like "kaka", not "dong um"
It is Motor , because your motor won’t start . The motherboard issue normally associate with the situation that the motor can run but not running correctly
I have 2 Dyson V11s torque drive, with failing to rotate the head. But the motor seems to be coated on the motherboard with silicon kind of material. Can they be replaced? Great video BTW
@@mohakmelthanks for your kind words, yes it can be . Just use your fingers nails or a guitar picks to carefully remove some of the silicon glue. As long as you can take out the small trigger cable and 2 screws . You should be able to remove the motor the same way afterwards
So, i guess there is no easy troubleshooting within motor!?
I got an issue with mine as well. I've had it for years and last month it stopped spinning completely. Other heads worked fine. Came back from vacation today and it worked for a few seconds but then it stopped spinning as if something got stuck. I disassembled the whole thing and gave it a deep clean. The rotor is spinning pefectly fine, but as soon as I put on the brush part it can only run for a few seconds and then it stops again. And I can't figure out what it is. Any tips?
Try to put your vacuum on boost mode and try again . If the head works fine in boost mode means your v11 motor is faulty. If heads still not working properly means your head motor is faulty
@@xiereno5323 thank you for the information. I tried and it stops before I have a chance to put it in Boost mode. The thing that I think is weird is that when it stops it doesn’t stop like slowly. It’s a hard instant break. So spins for max two seconds then instant stop with a loud brake sound. Anyway. I guess I have to replace this one. Hoped I could fix it.
@@xiereno5323 It's interesting you mention this because I have this exact problem. I have the v11 with Fluffy head and the Hi-torque head (grey) you have in the video. The fluffy head works on low, eco and boost all the time. But the Hi-torque head, when it is on low (green)/auto (blue) settings, it spins in the first two seconds then stops. But when I set it to boost mode, it works without stopping. I even tried my mum's v8 head (looks similar to v11 hi-torque) and it works on my v11 on all settings. Then I put my V11 hi-torque head on my mum's v8, it worked on low and high setting. Could it be my v11 Main motor?
@@garoarabian3017yep 100% v11 motor issue . I have seen so many of these mostly happens with motor code /05 if you open your motor cover to have a look. Only way to fix it is to swap a v11 motor
