Episode 1 Exploring Mehrauli's Secrets: Tomb of Balban & Jamali Kamali Masjid | @Ribinpx
Hi Guys,
Today, I'll explore Mehrauli Archaeological Park, including the Jamali Kamali Mosque and Tomb, and the Tomb of Balban.
✨Jamali Kamali Mosque & Tomb: Built in 1528-1529, these adjacent monuments honor Jamali and Kamali, with Jamali buried there after his death in 1535.
✨Tomb of Balban: Constructed around 1287 CE, this tomb introduced the Islamic arch to India. It may have had the first Islamic dome, though it hasn't survived, with the Alai Darwaza being the earliest extant dome. Balban, a notable Turkic ruler, was rediscovered in the mid-20th century.
