Thanks for the fun video! The next time you do one of these, I would find it interesting if you spent more time detailing out whether the items purchased are organic, etc., given the prices. I live in the U.S. where food quality is essentially criminal and you have to buy organic, grass-fed, etc. if you want to have even moderately decent health. I have a gluten sensitivity that I only developed at age 30 (because of food toxicity) and have learned that oftentimes, it is actually not the gluten that is problematic. Instead, there are so many things wrong with modern bread. Granted, I believe the quality is higher in the UK and Europe, but I'm not sure how much. Some of the issues are GMO wheat and also the type of yeast used (there is one that is considered a "super yeast" that makes it rise unusually quickly) - imagine ingesting this. Yeast is a living organism... absolutely gross. I will be mostly off bread for the rest of my life given my education. I certainly miss the convenience of it but you have to look well back into the last century to find a time when bread was still sort of ok for you. There's a reason that so many people now register with a gluten sensitivity. As it was explained to me (through multiple elite doctors), bread bothers every single person, it's just a matter of where is the tipping point for one person versus the next, where your body starts to reject it.

I love M&S. I'm celiac. It really does have the best bread and crackers.

Safety. Safety and political stability are THE only things to consider. The razzle dazzle will wear off quickly no matter the city. I’ve been to 27 counties and 80+ European cities. Things I could not personally deal with are, men constantly harassing me, aggressive and violent homeless, having to be hyper vigilant against pickpockets and scammers etc. It is exhausting and makes the everyday things you need to accomplish tedious. And lastly, you will forever be just a “guest” not a local and definitely not family. I very much look forward to seeing your journey and wish you both the very best. . I thought I was gluten intolerant till I realised the amount of junk in bread is astounding... even M&S sourdough. I get the Jason's one which is in tesco or my fave which is Bertinet bakery from Waitrose. And the Piadina wraps are great too. If you look at the ingredients of these you'll be amazed how little additives they have. I can eat these brands and not get the dreaded bloat!

Just to add that made me anxious even watching your vlog all the noise, constant bleeping & announcements thats why i do my shopping online now. Ps you are not snobs

Hello Sophie, Maltese long-time follower here x I was quite surprised when you mentioned Malta as we Maltese are currently very unhappy with the direction the country is headed. Too much construction is happening, green spaces disappearing to make space for unnecessary commercial buildings and corruption reigns. I am ashamed to say this about my own country however it is the dark truth. The cost of living is high and salaries are not up to par. Not gonna lie summer period here is nice since we are surrounded by beaches however be prepared to face the heavy traffic. I would much rather look into Italy I find it to be much more serene to live in. If you need to have more details do not hesitate to get in touch :)

A friend that lives in the UK also prefers Waitrose, she said the quality just seems to be better overall. We visited one in Horley and my hubby (who works in the grocery business) thought it was one of the nicest stores he'd ever been in. So much so, he made me take pictures LOL! We liked M & S too though, I remember getting a cooked chicken breast to eat in our B & B room and it was excellent.

When I lived in the UK there was an ENORMOUS 24/7 Tesco near me. I absolutely loved going out on the weekend and then doing my big shopping for the week on the way home in the middle of the night. I don’t drink so I was driving anyway. I cook fresh 6 nights out of 7 so I bought a lot of fresh produce and always found it to be of good quality. Also, it was the only place I could find that had fresh and decent sourdough bread and as a German the bread selection in the UK was depressing. 😂 I always think there are big differences even within a chain because of different floor sizes (seriously, that Tesco was gigantic), managers, suppliers… so you have to judge them individually. People get weirdly attached to brands and chains though.

I would not move anywhere near Croatia, Serbia etc! I live in the US and safety is a huge factor. I do not fear that Canada or Mexico would wage a war with us. Any place by China or Russia. Just my opinion.
