Another really good video and i agree a dog that quite is something better left alone its like over in the uk where im from they use lurchers there a hair coursing dog but if the dog quites or well we call it if the dog cocks then i don't know anyone who would breed to it i can even remember my father telling me about a dog called joe and at the time it went up against what was ment to be the best lurcher in England and joe won so he was the best dog over this way at the time he was sold on the man who got him was a drinker and he never went out on a Sunday with the dogs and his wife would normally give them a good feed that day but he came back with a drink in him someone said there dog was faster then joe so he took the dogs out not knowing joe was just fed a big meal and joe cocked /quite well. That dog was in the ground the same day its just the way it was
@Sean-rd5fs That's a great story and the perfect example of what the vid is about. Over here people that own hunting dogs won't keep a dog that won't hunt.
Hi Mr Garcia.. what is the average time for ur dog to run the treadmill... As per game dog
@@natariodamon5683 It all depends on how he works the treadmill. Slow pace longer time, fast pace longer time. Usually their built up to anywhere between 30 minutes to an hour.

Sorry Mr. García, if I becaming to paranoid, but I believe that this video gives too many ammunition to our enemies.
@franciscoliriano976 No need to apologize. It's all history that anyone can research and find in books, magazines, periodicals, online ect...and most of it is already on the internet.
In Crenshaw’s book he stated he felt a game face dog could overcome any style…

Mr. Garcia. I know it's legal now to match dogs. But my question is back in your days when ya'll put a dog down that wasn't any. How did you discard the body or get rid of the remains?
@@streetrossi937 Pretty much the same as anything that dies. You bury it out of respect for the animal. Most people put them to sleep chemically.
The diff is action vs no an engine that starts then blows a gasket header stops or an engine that never cracks up or starts even if all brand new parts are there only the body looks great

@@johnnyrockets9209 I'll put it on my list.
You have the seme concept as me in what is a cold dog and olso in the mining of selective breeding of this dogs, the selectivebreeding of the APBT can't include quitters or cold dogs, quitters are cowards that after they begin they started to cry and refuses to compit, cold dogs are hippies of the breed😂😂😂😂 your knowledge about this breed is incomparable good....Thanks again. I could listen to that ol man talk forever. Sounds like my dad and uncle but talking bulldogs.
@amphibious4463 I totally agree. We talk all the time and I enjoy every minute of it.
Love the way you entered the conversation. Couldn’t agree with you more about why we love this breed so much. It’s about the heart to stay and skill they have. It should never be about blood and guts. Love the introduction of the different styles and how you explain and used experiences. It’s always a blessing to hear your knowledge of ways you experience these things. You are an encyclopedia of these dogs.
@@roundhead8256 Thank you very much. I wanted to make all that clear as it's important to understand the mindset of the people who love the breed so much.

@cloviswatson9995 Good evening. Sorry I don't have any. I don't know if any is available.
I'll show you some foul style
And another fact of the Bulldog Game: a One Dimensional Game Dog usually becomes a "Roll Dog"... Especially if they are Game , One Dimensional and lack a Lotta Biting Power. They are historically a designated "roll dog"..... Having Good schooling Dogs or Dogs to school with owned by others was invaluable historically. Good school 🚸 is very important.
@@carlosmurray8402 I agree with everything you said.
@@carlosmurray8402 indeed. Styles can be enhanced and new ways to counter opposing styles can be taught. For example, if a prospect is the straight ahead hard charging type, it can be rolled with a savvy head dog that can keep itself out of trouble.

I wonder what would make a dog shoot foul? That’s an odd target. Perhaps they are trying to quickly kill with that joke as you see wolves disembowel their large prey. You’ve given me something to think about, brother. Also, the left side brisket… I never thought that there is something we cannot comprehend clearly and surely cannot measure is that they KNOW. Thank you.
@WDLC1911 I believe it's and old finishing instinct that wild predators do. They instinctively understand biology so they go to where the most damage and incompacitation occurs.
I think it’s an instinctive attempt at stopping the other animal out of the reproduction game. Lots of mammals compete with each other for breeding rights. Wolves, lions, even squirrels will target the genitals when in battle. Much respect from Louisiana.

We (those who know and love these dogs) are attracted to these dogs because we are in awe of them, I believe. The topic discussed here is explaining and discussing the traits that all of us are connected to, that bond to our dogs, that make us so proud of our dogs, the dogs we love so much. Schoolboy does a good job explaining what is so hard to explain, so hard to put into words.
@@busterfrank1818 Thank you for your input. I couldn't have said it better.
What up Schoolboy 🫡 BR in the 🏬 everything good on your end
A chain is only as strong as its weakest link has never been more true than on the yard. I don't care how strong your chain is. A APBT will pull and yank until it breaks. Keeping two dogs that don't like each other, on different sides of the yard is common sense. It looks nice but not worth it.
@@abdulabdullahi3849 Well said
Another great video. I learned at a young age, with genuine game dogs, I might let a certain male with a certain female out loose in the yard but never, ever unsupervised.
@genuineapbt6690 Good lesson. It all depends on the dogs and we can use our experience, after learning, which ones we can do that with and which ones we can't.
I like watching his videos even though im into Rottweilers I still learn a lot from him about dogs I reached out to him on Facebook he replied he's a good guy and I think it's cool he's passing this knowledge down
@@scottknight1417 Much appreciated
I Believe most Yard Accidents could have been prevented , Lazyness and being Cheap by not buying Quality Swivels and having a proper Chain setup ! What's a Hundred Dollars for a Quality Setup when you're talking about Thousands in Damage !!
@jeffsmith3581 Yep most happen for the reasons you mentioned. People learn the hard way or they get out of the game.
Facts
Thank you for sharing the finer points of APBT ownership! Training helps but I wouldn't do it unsupervised! Knowing how to read the dogs body language is a must. I've had pretty good success over the last 20 years but I never take it for granted that it only takes a moment for things to go left.
@@studentforlifedogtraining You're welcome. I agree with everything you said. Preventative maintenance and supervision are key elements to preventing accidents.
I am a 51 year old man with bulldogs for 46 years, RIP Jay Crenshaw, who lived near me. A friend of mine who grew up with Jay had a brother of Jeep named Troy. I have had some really good dogs that were only pets, I never bred or allowed my dogs to breed, I never matched or rolled my dogs. All of my dogs came from Virginia. I have a male and female now I keep with me 24/7 I'm never without them, I take a step, they take a step etc. I only rescued one dog from a shelter, the red nose female I have - I knew the blood of all my other dogs. In 46 years I have seen many battle scarred dogs. I never saw a dog like my female. The non kill shelter said she was 27-28 lbs when she got there, on an IV for 2 weeks. I have no idea why I all of a sudden went to the shelter, I've never considered a shelter dog before, it was out of the blue. A few minutes after I got to the shelter they brought her out for adoption they had her in intensive care 5 weeks and she was a thin , underweight, but healthy enough at 52 pounds. ( 64 pounds lean and mean is her best weight, pretty big dog, most of mine were a lot smaller) Anyway she turned out to be my most loved dog, the dog I was closest to. I call her "Big Sissy" because she is the toughest dog I ever had I believe. I don't know how she survived what she went through before I got her. I know how tough these pitbulls are but still, I can't believe this dog lived through whatever happened to her, I have NEVER seen scars like this. When I die and walk through the valley of the shadow of death I want my "Big Sissy" girl to walk with me, she has been through hell, she knows the way. I can honestly say I would give my life for this dog. I have never been loved so much by anyone or anything, what an honor to have her in my life.
@busterfrank1818 That's a great story and I have much respect for you for rescuing her. She deserves a great life that I know you gave her. All I can say is she survived because she's a Bulldog that got tender loving care.

When blessed with a bitch that has proven to be an outstanding hunter multiple times, Would the first breeding be to her ROM Sire or the best available performing male who is bred similar?
@frehgamedogg9983 I preferred linebreeding so in this case I'd breed to a similar male but it also depends if she's inbred, linebred or outcrossed. If you want to concentrate on the traits of her sire then you'd breed to her sired. I always say if you have two options breed to both. Sire first then another male,to build your family off of her.
Appreciate you as always Mr. Garcia for the response. 🫡
