I've made the call to replace the original battery bombed motherboard with an upgraded 386DX board. This brings us closer to a fully working Gateway 386DX from 1990!

I just picked up a very clean Gateway 386SX-16 but there's a reason I got it cheap... The old Varta battery leaked all over the motherboard and did some considerable damage. In this video I tear down the computer and remove the motherboard for possible salvage and or repair.

Several months ago I recapped my Macintosh SE/30 and it would no longer boot. I thought I had damaged it somehow and was unable to determine where I went wrong. I'm currently traveling for work and decided my laptop needed to have Linux Mandrake 7 on it. After several attempts we get it working.
