I hope that I can get mine working. I have tried a lot of things - reseating the CPU (a couple of times!), new bios battery, trying different RAM, trying a video card to an external display... These vintage Macs can be kind of a labyrinth...at least to someone who doesn't know what they're doing! Oddly, it doesn't even have bad caps (visibly) nor had it been battery bombed. I don't know why it doesn't work! It chimes, a light comes on, the hard drive initializes, but I *never* get any display.
That’s a tough one, I’d start with a can of deoxit and hit every socket and connector. Possibly try another CPU. The motherboard was in the G3 Beige Desktop, Tower and the AIO so look for a beat up parts machine that boots and harvest the logic board.
@ was it just capacitors or was it something else? I lost all my vintage machines in a house fire, but I’m trying to rebuild my collection and if I pick up anything from Apple before the 2000s I will replace the capacitors, regardless of whether they work or not. Besides I enjoy fixing them more than using them! lol once I upgrade as much as possible, and restore them, they used to just sit on my shelves as art. lol unless they can play youtube, then they become a tv! lol
@ I had to replace caps and the entire logic board to get this one running. I’m the same way, I’ll get one working and move to the next project. If I ever hit the lotto I’ll open a museum lol.
@ also, the fire thing is always in the back of my mind. A neighbors house just caught fire last month because of high winds while grilling. Hope the loss was minimal and you got back to normal quickly.
love it man just as i do my project throw it to the wall see if it works ! good work
The conclusion to this video is almost done, was able to fix the issues and will be going over that in the next video.
That’s one good looking logic board tray, glad to help get this beast running.
Thanks again! The old one would have given me tetanus eventually lol.

mine did the same, it was bad capacitors on analog board..did you ever get back to it? love your channel, i just found it!
Yeah, got it all running proper. Only thing left to do is install a proper SCSI Zip drive.

Hard to see that emoji on the phone but I’m guessing it’s soap bubbles. Don’t worry, it’s getting cleaned 🛁
