Finally made the leap to a Safariland 6354 RDSO !!!!
After long time of researching and trying to understand the Safariland line up I decided on the 6354 RDSO. This holster provides level one retention. The inside contains suede to minimize wear on your slide. The outside is covered in Camo Green cordura. Ultimately fits my needs for a holster that is light bearing for classes, range trips and camping.

Geissele URG-I Upper Receiver Buildout Update - Eotech EXPS3-0 & BCM KAG
Просмотров 2,5 тыс.День назад
Buildout continued on my Geissele URG-I 11.5" Upper Receiver. Snagged up another Eotech EXPS3-0 and a BCM KAG off to get the URG-I up and running. Outfitted very closely to my go to SBR as I like that configuration. Next working on building out a lower to house this on with the H3 buffer setup as none of my current setups utilize an H3 as the URG-I came with. Thanks for watching! Hit the Sub bu...

Follow up on thoughts of the Eotech EXPS3-0 after three years of use. Great optic for day or night use. Yes it is a little heavier then some of the optics out there and battery life not a high as many. It makes up for it's weight with 20 day times settings/10 night settings and minimal to no parallax shift. Uses a common CR123 battery which many lights and lasers additionally use. The window si...

Geissele URG-I Build update - Surefire RC2 Enters the Chat
Просмотров 354Месяц назад
Next piece in the Geissele URG-I buildout the Surefire RC2. Why did I pick the RC2 over RC3. Lower flash signature with no restrictions on muzzle devices. Lower IR signature. RC2 maybe old tech but it is the most heavily tested and battle proven suppressor on the market. Two different camps out there with low back pressure and standard suppressor. I prefer the decibel reduction over the gas red...

Edgar Sherman Paracord Guide - Why I’m looking at a Paracord setup
Are you still running Sprinco Springs? If yes what would you recommend for a 11.5 and 12.5 unsuppressed? Also what buffer weight? Thanks
Still running it in my go to and almost all other builds. My all my 11.5” carbine gas I run Blue spring with H2. I chose this setup based off Geisseles recommend chart but I went H2 instead of their suggested H3. Reasoning being if they list H3 for suppressed I wanted to confidence of reliability suppressed or unsuppressed so went H2 as to not over buffer.
@ thank you
Glad to help out. If you do get an H2 and decide you want a little more buffer can always run red spring. Cheaper than buying another buffer. The suggested Sprinco setup I saw when researching 11.5” suppressed were Blue/H3 or Red/H2.
@ thank you I’m going to try blue with H2. I have 2 BCMs - 11.5 and 12.5 both are unsuppressed
Drill and tape and install a tention screw . It's easy. and doesen't fall out and look cheep ..
The tension screws are nice for sure. I don’t trust myself drilling and taping a lower that may not result well 😂
Safariland has the best outside the waistband holsters I have ever tried.
Yeah this thing is crazy solid. I probably should’ve made the leap sooner.
I used the Safariland 6280 my entire LEO career. I only used Safariland because they were just built solid and their customer services was great.
@@sheepdawg6946in hand it definitely feels substantially more durable. So far like the lever for retention but really need to get out to range to run it more.
@@sheepdawg6946 I agree, it's the only holster I use and trust. 👍
I've wanted to try a drop leg holster setup of there's but I gotta rep my boi Carey Concealment lol.
I dig the drop. When I wasn’t running drop I was finding myself bumping into carrier cummerbund. Of course now my carrier setup has changed but haven’t tried without drop.
Please explain the difference between the pro and the tactical.
Pro is low first click, high second click. Tactical is only high setting.
@ Thanks. I’m considering this light. However, the Streamlight Polytac X seems to be about the same quality at half the price. I would have expected much more candela from the G2X. 8K candela isn’t much for 600 lm. The Polytac X has 11K or so. I realize some people don’t care about candela. 🤷♂️
sounds potentially like lights for different uses. I used Modlite OKW when out in open fields or backwoods. Surefire G2 tends to get more use around house or indoors. Of the G2s I prefer the LEO which is high to low (opposite of Pro). Use the Cloud Chicro fair amount around the house too when don’t need the extra output. Surefires higher out G2 is the G2X-MV with 800 Lumens and just over 3300 Lumens.
@@itsmillartime6916 Wow 3300 that’s even way less candela! Lol I definitely enjoy significant throw as well. Looks excellent though.
awesome awesome upper..
Thank you 🙏🏻
F'ing hawt. 🔥
Gonna have to fend off Garand Thumb groupies here soon 😂😂
Don’t ever get a Unity riser, it makes you have monkey pox aids
Are you staying with solgw lower for everything? Or are you getting a Geissele lower at some point???
I owe a Geissele ODG lower. Those are likely a collectors item now with ODG discontinued. Can’t say I’m using SOLGW lowers on everything now. Have had a strong itch to build one of their lowers I’ve had sitting though. Have my eyes on few different lowers just haven’t been ready to jump on them when in stock 🤣
Other than the better look of the two tone rail / upper receiver , the URGI is just a watered down Super Duty.
Super Duty went a stray when they stopped putting Surefire muzzle devices on. Yes easy change… for another $150 muzzle device. I’ve had my hands on a complete Super Duty and it’s a very nice setup. URG-I I would have preferred in all black to get the Government profile barrel and SF four prong. It’s interesting they offer URG-I charging handle Tan and Black yet the upper only two toned.
@itsmillartime6916 you pointed out 2 differences.I didn't realize, airborne charging handle and muzzle device are better on urgi. but those are easy changes. Everything else on the super duty is enhanced compared to the urgi. Like everything down to the springs I believe.
Unclear what springs your referencing? They both use the Reliability Enhanced BCG. Forward assist spring? Ejection port cover spring? The URG-I charging handle is an Airborne without Airborne markings and addition of NSN number. So main difference between Super Duty is the Geissele profile barrel and now Hux muzzle device. URG-I has government profile that Geissele doesn’t appear to sell on its own and four prong Surefire flash hider which are hard to come by outside of buying complete upper.
I have both, a 10.3 URGI & a 14.5 Super Duty. Other than charging handles & muzzle devices there is very little difference. The SD rail has a tab that fits into a cutout on the upper to improve lockup, that’s it. Honestly my URGI is more accurate than the SD, but I have one of the very first versions with a Daniel Defense MK18 barrel. Spec wise the barrels are the same though, cold hammer chrome lined.
The profile of barrels are different but you and I likely wouldn’t be able to tell the benefit difference between the two. Curious what buffer came with your 14.5”?
Unity VFG, and Aimpoint PRO on a scalarworks mount, would be perfect
That Unity VFG looks long and need chop. I’d rather have shorter more compact like Arisaka Indexer. Running KAG for now but eyeing Indexer hard. Aimpoint PRO I still need to do video on but will be living on my 16”. Doesn’t fit what I’m after with this upper buildout.
@@itsmillartime6916the Unity grip isn’t long. I have fairly smaller hands and I can’t even get my pinky around it. Although I don’t use vfg’s like a vfg. I grip them all like a hand stop, just prefer more meat there to grab on to
@@msquared9605 KAG fits my grip. If I wasn’t running that I’d run the BCM Gunfighter over Unity VFG. Used to run that years back and have two sitting. They would require a chop too lol. When I was running that never got around to chopping it.
@@itsmillartime6916 I run a KAG on my URGI & love it. Have one on my 10” .300blk as well.
That could definitely be the problem. I have only shot unsuppressed so far. I do love the upper - it’s awesome.
Geissele has a chart of recommended buffer to use. 11.5” unsuppressed H2. 11.5” suppressed they suggest H2 or H3. I have a feeling they originally were supplying H2 but swapped to H3 as the one listed to accommodate both suppressed and unsuppressed from their chart. Depending on suppressor choice though I could see H3 being over buffered. I can’t wait to get this thing out to the range.
You are going to love it - nice build so far. Enjoy!!!!
Got the same set up - I switched to the Geissle Super 42 H2 system. I did not like the H3 at all. Just a heads up.
What didn’t you like about it? Were you running a Suppressor? I heard Geissele used to provide an H2 with the 11.5” but now includes H3. I actually have a Geissele H2 sitting so can test both.
@@itsmillartime6916 interesting you say that because i own the 14.5 urgi and mine shipped with the H2 and now i hear they ship with the H1. I've tried both the H2 and H1 without any cycling issues for either with the 14.5 but i haven't tried anything suppressed yet.
@@ImPostedUpI wish Geissele would provide a little more insight into the change. I’ve heard of some having issues when going from an upper provided with heavier buffer to using one provided with the lighter one. Would make you think their was change is gas porting size on barrel or maybe gas tube.
During our Colt armorers class, the Colt instructor said the Tango Down gen 3 magazine was the the strongest and best magazine on the market. Magpul magazines are hygroscopic where the Tango Down is not. They are an extremely strong magazine and the only magazine that has been proven to be reliable in the M249 machine gun. The Tango Down gen 3 magazine has gone under the radar of most AR owners.
I’ll have to look those up unfamiliar of them.
I dig the JMAC logo on the lower as well. Always love seeing this build. The green and black just works super well. Thanks for the shout out! Yea the big thing PWS said was not to run the gas fill open to get the .30 cal can to cycle. I’m sure this will vary with different cans. But regardless, PWS will handle it. Awesome video!
Thank you 🙏🏻
Looks like it’s coming along nicely! I do prefer the Eotech… just because my eyes have issues with standard red dots.
Definitely some give and take between weight and battery life between Aimpoint and Eotech. I do feel Eotech works better with my eyes as well.
I kinda want to sbr my 7.5" 5.56 build with the JMAC LAF. 😂
Do it!
Eotech is KING
100% just through another on my URG-I upper I’m building out.
Which B5 has the 13 degree angle?
The P23 grip is 13 degree.
It's weird that for the price they aren't sold together to begin with.
They really should just include it with grip
Personally, every single rifle I get that I use geissele components, which is every rifle some except for my Sig they don’t make trigger for the MCX spear the big inch but it drives me insane like all right. The military was looking for something better for 55 Alpha, one ammo, barrels, hammer, forged, and not as strong against the Shit at the tip of the slug. Damaging receivers as well as barrels and foods ramps Beyond the point of polishing to wear a barrel is gone or the upper is gone yeah they get them for pennies on the dollar by the pennies add up no for me I’ve never had any zeroing issues with that rail. I have a 14.5 that I built and I prefer that just because truly you need to know a few things keeping everything clean you need to understand how to torque properly what grease‘s or bearing compounds you want to use what might be better than another seasoning your threads on the barrel lot heads spacing your bolt now then enhanced BCG from them I’ve wanted to buy for. I’d say like two years and it’s never in stock and I’m not gonna buy an upper and I don’t use his Suppressors so it’s like I’ll take a free four prong but I use surefire also, if you do shoot your fired and you wanna get a 30 Cal and a 556 scale suppressor start with the 30 cow and use 556 through it and then from there you’re able to understand NFA tax stamp shit your tax stamp went through shouldn’t have any issues with anything else as far as that goes so would that barrel be the one I would want if I had it now I would want a heavy barrel that’s tapered from the back to the front heavy to thin kind of like a criterion core series and possibly if I can fit one 11 1/2 inch if it was.
Possibly autocorrect but not sure I’m fully understanding. I started with 30 Cal suppressor. Recently diving into .223/5.56 suppressors with Surefire RC and an Anechoic 223. Can understand the want to build your own upper to assure torque spec and properly assembled. Nothing wrong with getting a complete and reassembling to check factory specs were correct while getting the parts you wanted.
These have always intrigued me
Buy one
I have a c7 carry handle upper from brownells I’m working on and was actually considering getting this lower so I could do a custom rollmark for it. Then I realized it was your channel again from commenting on your other ar build video. Looks like we have similar taste haha 🤘🏻
UnBrandedAR lowers are solid. I do like they offer custom engraving option… it’s been tempting 😬 great minds think alike 😂
@ I actually want to get a rollmark of a waffle like my username and make it like my own custom lower haha 😅 and yeah I’m doing the carry handle build but throwing a more modern twist on it so the ambi lower sparked my interest!
@@waffle_chuterI’ve got a graphic made up with my “run suppressed stay blessed” I was thinking of putting on one. Haven’t shared graphic publicly just yet but likely slap it on some mags in 2025.
@@itsmillartime6916 that sounds pretty neat! But yeah I’m thinking I’ll just grab one of the undranded ambi lowers and have my local shop engrave it for me so that way we can work on the design together.
Genuine question, why do I see so many people use the FCD EPC? I don’t see a point to spend ~$50 or more on a dust cover. Mil spec or Magpul dust covers cost 1/5th the price and do the same thing. Otherwise cool build.
They are design to actually sit off the lower and not touch it. Unfortunately they don’t seem to do that on most uppers 😂 so most get them for the slick aesthetics. Think it works true to design on BCM and FCD uppers maybe few others.
all this drip for just a ballistic advantage barrel
Built during the Covid shortages so at time wasn’t able to get my hands on the Centurion FBI HRT 11.5” I was after. Centurion didn’t get them in for year or so after I built this upper.
Love the build!! I subbed and will catch up with your content. Thanks for sharing. Gained some inspiration on my red and black Sons of Liberty gunworks build!!
Thank you 🙏🏻 I’ve got another SOLGW lower buildout in the works here soon too.
Heck yeah franken builds are the best! I actually just made my very first video doing a break down of my “main” set up 🤘🏻
This is almost exactly what I’ve been wanting to build just with a different tape switch
What switch are you eyeing?
Did they fix it for you yet?
I ordered Sprinco gas rings and swapped them out myself. SOLGW did not hold up to the warranty they claim on their packaging. Gas rings have held up fine since swapped.
@ I hear JP makes a solid “one piece gas ring” I bought some but I never tried them cuz I don’t shoot that much out of one rifle anyway but they seem like a good option.
@@AJ13Bif I recall correct that’s what I’m running on the Law Aric BCG and has been solid. For the SOLGW I stuck with standard Sprinco gas rings.
I been rocking those since they first came out.. Worth the upgrade!!
Yeah I definitely think I’ll be ordering a second set for my other Howard Leights. They are comfy.
Fantastic build. It would look nicer with a vltor imod stock!! Just my opinion
I really like the cheek weld on the B5 systems. Have eyed Vltor. Maybe try one in future 🤔
@itsmillartime6916 I hear you. B5 are OK in my opinion. Just overused like the magnum CTR was back in the day..but the Imod is there to last for the ages. But that's just me. Your build is one I like without a doubt
Thank you 🙏🏻
@itsmillartime6916 sent you a link of my sbr with the vltor
@@adriansoto239where did you send the link?
I use the same JBO outfitter on everything. I just epoxy the left hand lever in place so there's basically no chance of it coming loose. It's great for 15 bucks.
I blue loctite both sides. Have had them come loose if I don’t loctite. But once loctited no issues. Definitely get bang for the buck safety.
groovy, thank you sir!
NP Thanks for watching 🙌
Do you consider Sons of Liberty uppers good? Or are they just ballistic Advantage barrels
So the Upper receivers and Handguards are both made by Zev is my understanding. So solid. The barrels however I’ve heard they use Ballistic Advantage and possibly Rosco as well. I own two SOLGW 11.5” barrels (one with front sight and one without) both of which suppressor alignment works but isn’t as centered as I’d like. Own multiple of their BCGs and while I have had issues with one they didn’t hold up to their lifetime warranty (gas rings that wore out very early) they are still great BCGs. However Brownells and others sell same Microbest carrier with no logo for less. So if you’re looking at their completes there are areas I feel they could improve but I’d still run one. If you are pairing with a SOLGW lower you’ll find the fit is normally pretty good.
@itsmillartime6916 ya ill just go with a bcm or geissle. Ya I got a couple microbest from arftac I love
Hear great things about those Arftac BCG. Check out a Geissele URG-I. I’ll have update coming soon on my build. Getting my optic and fore grip this weekend.
Lookin good. 👍🏻 👍🏻
Thank you 🙌
12.5” middy dedicated suppressed ftw
I haven’t played with a 12.5” yet or a middy. Maybe future project to test one out 🤷🏻♂️
I have a 11.5 almost identical... i run a JP tuned and polished extra power sprig with a BCM h2 buffer. Side note i think im over unbranded ar/zro delta parts because of the tolerances and i think you could do much better for the same price i would go with cmmg or bkf[just my opinion]... would love to show you my build if possible..
Got your IG message. Send on over build pics. I’ve been running an UnbrandedAR AR9 for years and love it. Have their lower parts kits in a few builds and my big complaint would be detents and pins feel super gritty. Recently got a complete factory built AR15 lower from them which looks great but pins/detents are a bit rough. Easy $10 fix for new springs and detents but I’m planning to just run as is for now. My recent go to kit is the SOLGW Semi complete and I snag a Geissele trigger. SOLGW has best feeling takedown and pivot pins imo.
I did unbranded and it didn’t work out when I swapped from a 5.56 upper to 300blk. The BCG (unbranded) wouldn’t load subs into the chamber completely (supers went fine 🤷🏻♂️) so I swapped it out for a SOLGW BCG and no issues since. Everything was lubed fine. I’m only buying SOLGW from here on out.
I’ve mainly run UnBrandedAR lower parts (lowers, lower parts kits, AR9 buffer, buffer tube and possibly few other pieces). Also have their mags which are incredible. Highly recommend their mags. Some of the best GI mags I’ve seen. Did you try their BCG on any other uppers? Curious if that was isolated to that upper? Did you try different kinds of subs or one particular brand?
Love the longer video! Hope to see more breakdowns in the future
Thank you 🙏🏻 have been kicking around what build to do overview next. May possibly be my URG-I once it is finished up.
Awesome setup!, but between never showing his face on this channel or the shooting the shit podcast I’m starting to think this little dude is hideously disfigured lol
I love franken builds i run something very similar to you except for i run a 12.5 centurion arms barrel with alot of bcm internals and furniture and I use the a2 buffer system it's a very smooth shooter
I’ve done so much building honestly very curious to buy a complete. Struggle there is not having the customizability of Franken build 😂 I’ve been eyeing Centurion FBI HRT barrel heavily. May snag that in 2025.
Fire build, how's the h2 comparatively to an h1 or standard
12.5” master race 👊
Thank you, been awhile but if I recall I started with a carbine buffer and spring. Recoil was heavy with that buffer setup. The H2 and Blue spring made it a smooth shooter. Some suggest H3/Blue or H2/Red running 11.5” suppressed but my thought was if ran it without can the H2/Blue is safer setup for reliability. Didn’t want to over buffer it.
Also running a 12.5" with the BCM MK2 recoil system.
Love the set up... 🫡
Thank you 🙏🏻
That BCG is wet! 🫡 love it
Lubed up with Sotaracha. Recently made a fresh batch 🥰
Do you have a vid on this build?
Just recorded a video tonight with breakdown of this build. I’ll have it posted in next two day.
I have astigmatism as well and settled on eotech the reticle by itself is a little fuzzy around the edges but with the g33 behind it it completely disappears for me not sure why i like that rifle do you have an overview video on it?
I’ve been debating a magnifier. Was literally thinking today I don’t think I’ve done an overview on this build. Possibly done one included within another video when adding a part to it. I’ll have to get a video together with a breakdown of this build.
Just finished a video up with overview of what this build is compiled of. Should have it posted in next couple days.
@@itsmillartime6916 awesome thx you won't be disappointed with the g33 the glass on them is very clear it's almost like looking through glass on a medium power optic and it has a very large field of view I like the quick detach mount it comes with too I can just pop it off and toss it in my pack to lighten things up
I’ll have to look at snagging one of the magnifiers in 2025. Working on closing out a few projects before tackling the next 😂
Love My EOTECH
They have become my favorite for sure.
no hate intended here, but that optic does NOT look like it has been used for three years, it looks almost brand new
All good man. Like I mention in the video I’m just average dude that gets out here and there for classes, range time and camping. If I had to guess I’ve got a bit over 2k to possibly 3k in rounds under this particular Eotech EXP3-0 and additional time on my EXPS on my other BRN180. Rotate through few different setups when I get out. There are areas I’m a little ocd about cleaning my optics hood being one of them lol In person though it’s not a dark as out of the box likely slightly bleached from the sun.
@@itsmillartime6916makes sense. I’ve had my exps2-0 for around that time. With the same firing schedule. If you take care of your stuff it’s last longer. Who knew?
@@S_P_A_C_E_PUBGMExactly, I’m all for running it as they are built for but would like it to last in long run too.
Now I need some. But curious how well knockoffs work compared to these even though I know these are guaranteed excellence.
I was curious about the knock off as well. Wanted to support US company so went this route. Holiday sales are decent on them so maybe best time to snag them up.
Need another build update man!
Update coming soon. Optic and fore grip were acquired but haven’t picked them up just yet. Almost all parts are on hand for lower build out too.
@itsmillartime6916 still waiting 😂😂😂
@@MaximusEffortjust picked up Eotech and Fore grip yesterday. Haven’t had chance to sit down and install just yet. Hopefully tonight or tomorrow get them installed and then work on getting build update together
@ nice man! Do you work for Brownells?
I’ve been a Brand Ambassador for Brownells for just over six years. Member of their Bureau of Propaganda (patch on back left in video). They are a great crew. Had the opportunity to visit the retail store and warehouse a couple years back.
Thanks for making this. I was tired of using needle nose pliers and a hammer to get them in.
Glad to help out 🙌
Does the RUM mount come with the adapter tool already? Thanks
Yes the adapter tool comes in the RUM ready for install.
