Super impressed …. Saved £££ and apart from the initial twist and clip drama… very simple. Many thanks
thanks for the video🎉
Because of the pricing Campagnolo has proven they don't care about cyclists, therefore I don't care about ever owning Campagnolo or running into this issue. Thanks for making this video, free of charge to cyclists too. You're a real asset to cycling as where Campagnolo is not.
@@Raymond-Farts thank you for the kind words! I agree that Campagnolo is not that „accessible“ like Shimano or SRAM they seem to always want to set themselves apart
the video has a problem, it paused at 7:06
Great Video, one addition even normal candle wax will do the job too, I use Candle wax works fine, but cleaning is the key it have to be clean to bear metal.
Or if you don't want to wax just use Squirt. A quick wipedown and light application after every few rides has worked for over a decade for me.
Nice setup! Personally, I ended up with several containers and successive washes. First cheap gasoline cleaner, then toluene, and then acetone. It costs about $4 for a nearly liter can. I leave it in there on the heater at about 40 degrees until the next day. I always do several chains at a time and then I have it for a year. I then keep the used chemicals for the next use (I pour them into the original containers and label them). The only change is that when I use used chemicals, I do a quick wash at the end with a small amount of new solvent. It sounds complicated, but in reality it's a snap and time will take care of everything.
Nice tutorial and I hope it will get more people into waxing. :) Just a little tip, instead of cardboard you can put a pot under the chain and catch the wax for later use. I really like how you caught the chain with the wire, I'll try that too, I have splatters everywhere so far. It looks clean! Waxing was the best discovery for me, never any other way! :D It feels great to just put on a fallen chain by hand and have it completely clean. I also don't have any marks on my feet after every ride. Ongoing maintenance is also much easier, I just wipe the chain with a dry cloth after arriving (due to dust and moisture). The most important thing is to thoroughly degrease the chain before the first waxing (ideally wash it several times in different solvents). Only a completely clean chain will hold the wax well. The chain's lifespan is comparable to oil. I make my own mixture and I am extremely satisfied with it. The base is pure paraffin (you can use tea lights, but they must be marked as 100% paraffin), then 3% powdered graphite, 3% lanolin and 3% purified beeswax. Graphite works as an additional lubricant and at a concentration of up to 5% it doesn't stain your hands or anything else when handling. Lanolin protects against moisture and together with beeswax improves plasticity. The mixture then holds better in the joints. When I try to unrive the chain, the rings around the joints are clearly visible. Pure paraffin also works quite well. I don't want to say that professional products are worse than my mixture, but I personally didn't notice a difference when using it. Maybe when you're racing it makes sense to have a little extra efficiency. For a third of the price of a commercial product, I have the ingredients for almost 100 waxings. I am currently experimenting with making my own liquid wax for continuous renewal between waxings (I use white spirit as a solvent), but so far it seems that using multiple chains is more practical. I can drive about 300 km on one hot wax chain before waxing again (I swap it with another chain). But it could handle more, but the noise increases.
bro there s a problem in the video...there is a long pause around 6:50 minute
Have you ever tried mineral spirits? It’s the best chain cleaner I’ve ever used. Better than any product I’ve used that was marketed as a chain degreaser. It’s typically used to remove paint from paint brushes but is exceptional on dirty chains. After the mineral spirits, I rinse it off in denatured alcohol and then let it dry. This even works for removing the super tacky factory coating on a brand new chain. Comes off like nothing.
Personally, I use gasoline, toluene and acetone in turn. But that's only because of the low price. White spirit is really the best and doesn't smell, but it's also twice as expensive. I use white spirit as a solvent in my liquid wax mixture, I haven't found anything better for that.
Ты его чо маслом с распылителя поливал?
Do you need different style chainring for non flat chain?
we went for this chain because of the cassette - but you can run the flat top chain with this chainring as well - however a non flat top chain on the 2x crankset from SRAM I'm not sure if that will work I've never tried it
Presta is kinda crap and they break easily, Dunlop should be the standard
Ingersoll-Rand..
The only thing I hate about presta is they are quite fragile I already got two brand new tires that have a damaged presta valve core

Hello, Is the V3RS an endurance bike and is the rim brake edition still available?
The routing for mechanical cables on these bikes is actually not that bad. Of course, it's still worse than traditional bikes as cables route through the headset, but it sets a benchmark at being quite serviceable. And for a few reasons. Cables and shift housing is external of the bar and stem, and is fed through a guide at under the stem. Hosing then goes through steerer tube spacers, outside of the steerer tube itself. Now, the big plus, the housing is fastened inside the downtube with access through the storage compartment door. This allows you to connect your new cables to the ends of the old ones and pull them through using the old ones. It also makes it easy to put foam sleeves on to prevent rattling. The other benefit, the bike is designed to use shift housing all the way to the mech, which helps ensure long life and smooth shift and consistent cable tension through all the bends.
good points for sure!
Great video omg

Oh hell with it, let's go with Dunlop valves...
@@Sunspot-19 yesss😂
As a Dutchman, I can say that neither the Presta nor the Schrader valve is 'normal'. Our 'normal' bikes will mostly have a Dunlop-valve. On Mountainbikes you wil see Schrader or Presta, on road race bike Presta. (Schrader: pronunciation: there is no Umlaut, so it's an A like the one at the and of 'Presta').
same for Germany (and most of Europe at least I guess)
@@flyt129 hm in Switzerland you see mostly Presta
Schrader valves suck and are for dopes do some homework to learn why presta is better
Its all about the size of the hole in the rim of the wheel Presta is better because it is smaller than Schrader and compromises the rim less
@@richarddecredico6098 right
That matters on narrow rims however, my 50mm wide rims, it gets down to preference. The presta made its fame on road bikes with their customarily narrow rims requiring a smaller diameter valve stem and slowly spread across disciplines. Today, even BMX race bikes have presta. The only thing that matters is the valve keeps tires ready for adventure.
Thats why it will become outdated as MTB rims are wider now at 25-40mm now
@@marklouieadame will not be going away anytime soon there is already a 'new" and improved version and it just cause another set of issues if you gonna reinvent the wheel HINT keep the part that is round Presta is 100% fine and there is nothing on the horizon that is better for the foreseeable future anyone running tubeless loves the ease at which the valve cores are removed to fill with more sealant and if you are not running tubeless? than you are a luddite
@@marklouieadame My bike has 50mm rims and 3.hellyeah front and rear. Doesn't get better than that for backcountry exploration on trails designed, engineered and built by the loco deer and elk population. 😁
It's also easier to check for leaks, and to change the valve on most high end presta valves when needed, then it is the shrader valves. PSSSSSS !!!!!
Presta is just another example of the bike industry making things more complicated, but too late to change now.
Nope> Presta is smaller than Schrader so became popular on narrower wheels
Why do you think presta is more complicated? Schrader has a metal spring that has to work in order to function. Presta uses the air in the tire as the spring.
@@jprelockI didn't realize that, thanks!
I have both pres and Schrader valve for tubeless on my bicycles, with help of air compressor both are good and easy to setup
Schrader valve trumps presta and dunlop any time of the day, they are used on everything, you will never be stranded, it's pratical. It's always nice to see the cyclist, every time they open that fly trap to say something like presta is better for x y and z and then having to carry an adaptor. Because they pretend that they are important, are always in a rush to do multiple things bad at same time and paying some one else to take care of the equipment. That someone knows they are stupid like bricks and will rip them off and say that the bike is at 100%. Eventually they will go for a ride, be low on pressure and stop at the gas station to pump the tires but wait, the adaptor is gone! It always puts a smile on my face.
@@Sustrii i think you are not wrong:) too bad for all cyclist that the presta valve is on almost every bike
@@sebibuchs i drill out all my rims for schrader with the exception not on road rims only
Just the opposite is true Presta seriously better for most biking applications Do some homework, ya ignorant mope

Here in America, when you say tubeless, we all automatically think Schrader valve. I've never seen presta tubeless valves until this video.
You mean on cars and other similar vehicles, I assume. There are very few tubeless valves on bikes that aren't presta.
@@theotheroneb1548 I have never seen tubeless presta valves until I saw this video. I always come across tubeless Schrader valves on mountain bikes. Yes there are the tubes presta valves on most road, gravel, and some hybrid road bikes, but most other bikes here in America are Schrader valves, and probably always will be.
@@ghostAFsky I have never seen preta valves on any tubeless tire ever! I have only seen tubeless Schrader valves! That's what I run on my mtb. Apparently, presta vales are not the standard.
@waktosha7378 yeah I think youre under the impression that 1. I don't live in America (i do), and 2. The bikes you see are tubeless (they probablyaren't). Every bike under I'd say around $1000 has innertubes. Technically you could put tubeless tires and wheels on them but usually you wouldn't put +$500 wheels and +$100 tires on a bike like that. At that point it's not even a cheap bike anymore. In summary almost every bike you see is not tubeless and if it is, it's expensive and probably has presta tubeless valves.
@theotheroneb1548 Nope, they are tubeless with Schrader valves.
The regular value is the Schrader valve. It always will be.
Yes, like cars, motorcycles, and cheap bicycles
@fjp3305 And some expensive ones too, like mountain bikes.
I Love my Dunlop valves 🥰
You are a sick person!
Maybe the New clik valve from Schwalbe is thé solution for all of the problems
Presta valve is lighter and makes smaller hole, which makes rim stronger or allows use lighter rims and carry a lighter pump
The narrow rims need the smaller hole, for sure. I don't think it affects the pump -- I have several portable pumps where I only reverse a small plastic part to switch valve types.
@@ericpmoss i think that was the challenge at first - now however you see 30mm (internal width) rims with presta valve holes
Stan's makes tubeless schrader valves.
@@billcatrinkay9389 thanks for the info!
I think they executed that idea well. But I am afraid it will be flexi like the new Bianchi.
Nice bike bro
