The laser probably isnt going, The caps are the likely culprit. Nothing worse than replacing the laser when it's just going to do the same things.

Hi, the correct way should replace the capacity in the optical driver board. once replaced, no need to adjust the VR.

I'd totally get the modkits for my GameCube Controllers (using third party shells of course). I just hope they'll work with the future Nintendo Switch 2 like other Switch accessories.

Aw, I was sure Rush 1/2 was gonna be in this list. I had so much fun with especially Rush 2 growing up. The racing was exhilarating, good variety between different vehicles, stunt track in addition to track racing, unlockables, shortcuts, etc. It was great fun.

Crusin USA was my favorite racing game on the N64 my buddies and I had so much fun with that game.

Wave racing is amazing , the water physics are so cool in this game isn’t just about steering left or right , you also need to move the joystick forward or backwards to compensate for the waves, so immersive , I have snowboarding kids but to be honest can’t find the fun in it 🥹

Still playing my wave race cart in 2024!! My older cousin who worked in game design back then was also blown away by the water graphics. N64 racing games…gotta mention pod racers. I’m too good so my friends won’t play with me. F Zero…my friend is too good so I don’t play it lol. Thanks for the quality content!!

Good look. I'd say many don't. GT64 doesn't I barely ever see anyone talk about it and I'm always intrigued by it, Beetle Adventure does a bit. Wave Race 64, F Zero X do. 1080 I don't think it does compared to other snowboarding games. Excite Bike 64 or other motorbike ones not sure. Lamborghini Automobile I don't think does much. I think it varies. V Rally (thinking other consoles) or I think more so Top Gear, Cruis'n got 2 entries on N64. I'm trying not to confuse with Gameboy or GameCube racing games. GameCube and N64 was an interesting time for racing on Nintendo platforms for sure. Compared to Wii with a handful and Wii U mostly arcade only stuff. Switch getting probably about as much or more then GameCube even though GameCube has more of the types I prefer while Switch is good many are fair ports and sure it has MotoGP or WRC and such on there that never were on GameCube because Sony owned WRC for PS2 era and other rally games were on PS1 then N64 unless it was Sega Rally or so. But it was an interesting time for what racing games ended up on there of arcade, Sim or anti grav/kart racers or other odd games that were like Sonic R on off (like Mad Dash Racing on OG Xbox for example).

Man my brother, sister, and I played the crap out of Beetle Adventure Racing.

My sister and I would rent the beetle racing game from blockbuster. We'd drive around and find all the secret paths and hardly ever actually raced.

I had a lot of fun with friends during teenage years on Snowboard kids.

The N64 does not output a component signal, the chip you installed enables RGB Scart. Hd retrovision cables converts the scart signal to component.

Just a tip, flux is your friend when soldering.

oh well that explained how/why i broke my lid hinge tabs when i took it apart before... any idea where to get a very simple and cheap one just to use for this one time event? i am not looking into investing $30 for a (hopefully) one time use, but i would like to make sure that my heavyhandedness doesnt cause my laser to burn a hole in my discs xD

Regarding the Clock - The Cart stores the date and time on the cartridge on part of the circuit the GB OP doesnt read. So when you put it into the Anologue, the console reads the correct time or i beleive so. This is actually benefical for setting times for Evolutions ( Day / Night ) or activating Day / Night stuff in game.

Fun fact, it also charges through the USB-A, if for some reason you lost that barrel plug and have an ancient cable around.

From what I've read/watched there was particularly bad input lag with this controller on release (specifically in DInput mode, I believe) and they improved it in a firmware update later. So make sure to update it when you get one in case it still has old firmware from the factory.
