Skinner UR-1 Cam Drive Rotary Sprinkler.
Rare Skinner UR-1 Cam Drive rotor 1/2” 40’ Distance. This is one of my Absolute favorites in my collection A unique Sprinkler for sure! I just like the look of the Square top and embossing. I added pictures of the internals so I don’t have to break it down on camera but I hope can give you an idea on how it operates. Got this piece on eBay in 2016 and have been needing to make a video on this unique sprinkler that I have not seen any Examples on the internet that I’m aware of. I have no clue on the age my guess is 50’s but I could be wrong.

Here’s a follow up video to “Drew’s Sprinkler system 1/1” this zone being the 2nd on this property I maintain, this system was consisting mostly of 90’s Hunter pro sprays, Hit pop-ups And Toro 570’s. I’ve pretty much replaced 80% percent of the original sprays with Rain Bird 1800’s in the last year of being contracted to this house that is right next door of the previous property I used to main...

Buckner Rocker Jet 503M

Buckner Rocker Jet 503M This model is the smallest of the part circle Rocker Jets having a 1/2” inlet and a 5/32” nozzle probably uses 4 GPM. It took me almost 10 years to get one of these small part circle rockers at a decent price unfortunately the diffuser screw is broken in so the only way I can change the distance is with needle nose pliers but other than that it still works and looks real...

Filmed back in march of 2017. I went outside one night to go adjust my sprinklers in my system when I noticed my neighbors sprinklers were also on I always knew they had a mg-4 I just never really had a chance to view it up close it seems to be one of the last remaining impact sprinklers in their yard it used to be orbit pop-up impacts and two Rain Birds (now only this one shown). If anyone sti...
Rain-O-Mat "No 9" rotor.

Rare solid brass Rain-O-Mat rotor number 9. I finally found a spot to test out these old commercial brass sprinklers at full pressure. Usually these lawn sprinklers rotate really fast but In this video I have the speed screw set at a lower speed so it doesn't go into the neighbors yard. If you like these videos subscribe!

Vintage 1986 Rain Bird Mg-4 medium gallonage Impact sprinkler. These were designed for more larger yards and had a more faster rotation speed with a single weighted impact arm the later production Mg-4's had double weighted arms that could be used in both high and low pressure situations by adjusting the spring tension. This model is no longer manufactured and is getting really hard to find.

Wow, this thing is beautiful!

This is one of the first of the R-50 production line.
Very interesting piece of equipment. Had no idea skinner made these. I like how it keeps the stream from going too far
I grew up with sprinklers that were above ground as we did not have the popups like is common now days. I like watching multiple sprinklers all at the same time like this. I would sit watching them all day long and go around the house checking to see if one has stopped as I continued to just watch them perform. Thank you for sharing this video.
I have a couple of newer models similar but with the brass arm. I have not tested them yet and is still to come on my page when the weather warms up. Most of the newer ones now are PJ arms. Thank you for sharing this one.
I am envious of your 211 and then to see how quickly it moves which surprised me. Wish I had one. Thank you for sharing.
I literally could watch these all day long. Thank you for sharing.
I like the timing on the model 25PJ. I have not seen one of these canister style models since my fathers yard with the full circle models with this style canister. I would repair them as necessary. Thank you for sharing this video.
I like the arm timing on this Lawn Genie better than the Rain Bird. Thank you for sharing it.
I am not a fan of rotors, as I prefer the impact sprinklers. I am glad you shared it with us.
I am not familiar with the lawn genie models. I like the way this one works. Thank you for sharing it.
Rain Bird sprinklers are pretty hard to beat even with all of the copy cat models out there. Thank you for sharing.
Yes I enjoy watching these videos, and just a suggestion that you put the words impact sprinkler in your title so I can find them as I am always searching for impact sprinkler videos and I noticed that if I do not put it in my videos they do not show up in my search. Thank you for sharing your neighbors sprinkler.
I want to get one of these eventually when they do not cost a fortune. Right now the sources I have found them at extremely high prices. These are really neat sprinklers and I want to add one to my sprinkler collection, and test it out. thank you for sharing.
These are amazing sprinklers! I have seen the 7 and 9 but never the 10. That's a nice find.
4 months and only 80 views? And Three likes come on RUclips 😂
You should do an updated version of this mystery sprinkler
The Rocker Jets are very nice heads. The 503’s are the most temperamental of all the models. I have some that are slow in one direction and some that are normal and some that Will barely work one way. I believe it has to do with the castings and machining and the 503 has tighter tolerances than the 512 or 522. You can definitely tune them by tweaking the striker area of the nozzle but they are fragile and since they are very old by now, they break easily and they don’t braze back together very well as it hard to get the alignment correct. Very neat head and the 512’s work flawlessly most of the time.
Really nice sprinkler. What state are you in? I’m in Arizona and that style of house in the background with the roof AC looks familiar.
I’m in California
What an incredible video. This is an amazing sprinkler. Very rare. A true museum piece. Thanks for sharing it!
Thanks for watching, this is one of my gems of my collection a very tough to acquire Sprinkler indeed.
That's a really cool 180-degree sprinkler I've never seen anything like it before nice vid
Very envious of your 211! Great video!
Absolutely love these. Thanks for the video.
This is a great video showing how the Rain Jet sprinklers worked (I like that the camera shutter speed, interacting with the pulsation of the sprinkler, makes it look like the sprinkler is pulling water in, the farther you get from the sprinkler). This is a "parkway" or "strip" model, hence the reason it shoots water mostly in two opposite directions. Its spray pattern at full force is supposed to be five feet by 40 feet (20 feet in both directions).
I just picked one of these up today. However it's a little newer than yours, it has the newer style trips and trip collars. However it didn't come with a nozzle but I have some laying around that I can use.
DaSamNudge had one of these except it was a 1300H
Yep! I was going to mention that another person on YT has the Half circle pattern when I filmed this video but I forgot the name. I always liked his sprinkler videos and the progress he made renovating his system over the seasons to this day I wonder if he still kept the original head after he replaced it. I haven’t seen many examples of this sprinkler since I bought this one way back in 2016.
@@andrew9485 He still has it I believe because he has mentioned he is not getting rid of it, similar to how I am keeping a water master on my desk next to my Rain Bird R-50C. I liked the sprinkler system renovation however it felt that in 2022, the system decided to finally have issues again
is that a 1" input sprinkler? I believe my 205 is a 1 1/4" input, which has an adapter to 2", then a camlock adapter was fitted on it. Mine however needs bearings in the drive arm, it short strokes and does not hit the stream like its supposed to, causing the arm to stop moving.
i wish i was good with machining. I'd like to take one of these and mod it to be fast reverse. I figure i'd make some kind of trip mechanism that holds the drive arm in place when its tripped so it shoots water to the side creating kinetic energy. Now when it reaches the left stop it would disable the mechanism and the arm could move freely driving it forward. Its just an idea i had. Although modding one of these would probably be a no no to the collectors, As these are super rare and alot of people like to keep them original. Did u guys know rainbird made a #65 impact that was fast reverse? It basically was like a prototype, kind of like the first impact sprinkler to ever been made. Except it was PC and it had a deflector that redirected a stream to reverse it back. Kind of like the nelson big guns.
I don't believe i've ever seen one of these before. Not that i can remember, even as a child. But it is cool to watch. Ever heard of H-L-Gee rotors? I was selling a laptop to a guy on FB and i turned down his road and i saw a underground system with some of those rotors by that company. They were dual nozzle rotors, and i think they turned backwards? its been awhile since i've seen them though. i have a video on my channel of them though.
I have looked for this video several times on your channel, I cannot find it. Do you have a link or the title?

That is an amazing sprinkler. Great video!
Sweetness!!!
quaility and coverage is far superior than anything made today
first time I've ever seen one of those
Yep, it’s really obscure haven’t seen any other examples since I last got this one.
@@andrew9485 You're very fortunate, I admire your collection. Amazing seeing this stuff run.
Actually sold a few of these way back when.
Can you tell me a little more about what your water pressure and GPM is? And what the GPM of these particular sprinkler heads are? Trying to get an idea of how many heads I can run at a time.
This is actually an old clients of mine yard that I worked on a few times if I had to guess I say this system is using 40 PSI or more and I know all the sprinklers in this vid are using a 2.0 GPM nozzle while being fed by a one 1” inch supply line.
finally a black one!
Nice system Drew, do you prefer anti siphon valves or underground ones?
I don’t really have a Valve preference both types work well, A majority of the property’s I’ve ever been around in my area have always had Anti-siphons but as manufacturers go I always use Rain Bird, Hunter, and Irritrol/Lawn Genie products.
Nice sprinklers
That last one is like a woodpecker
How can you run all at the same time ,do you have a pump ?
Are the bearings broken at the bottom or is it supposed to do that?
No it’s not supposed to spray at the bottom like that, there are two spray holes on the bottom inlet that get uncovered when the washers ware out over time unfortunately it’s getting very hard to come across New Old Stock bearing washers for old impacts. So until I find someone who can rebuild this Sprinkler it’s still going to have this issue.
@@andrew9485 Now that makes me think, the nelson big guns have weep holes that do exactly that. my pc100 and p150s do that when the seals wear out it starts shooting water out of the bottom assembly. Both of the P150s i have videos of on my channel shoot water out of the base. and i started to think, Thats how you know the gun needs rebuilt. Actually one of my p150s is getting rebuilt as we speak. Quite pricey to rebuild bearings and gaskets and seals, but im having them do it. Im curious to the performance of it when its finished. I'll have to get a smaller nozzle on it of course but It ran decent in the 5 minute video i had of it before the bearings finally locked up and it stopped rotating.
I dislike the short range for the 1.5 gpm nozzle, and I dislike the wiper seals on these and the fact water tends to leak from the sides of the nozzle as seen in the video. I think the PGM/SRM was a better rotor when it came to the nozzles though not good quality.
Modesto Junior College has one of these still going in the quad lawn but it doesn’t have the slit nozzle.
Really? That’s a pretty rare sight especially if it’s still working. Did you ever get a chance to film it in action?
looking forward to more sprinkler videos
That's cool. A small version of the well known SR100. I have one but it needs a new nozzle and trip collars. Also it seems to have a slower stroke rate when reversing than going forward. Too bad buckner didn't make one that was fast reverse
The slow stroke rate most likely has to do with the position of the nozzle. This Rocker had the same issue reversing slower than it should until I moved the nozzle slightly flat to the arm spoon with a wrench, the only problem is that it’s very easy to break off the top striker piece so if you try this to fix your’s be very carful.
I have a 512 that is fully restored. It looks brand new
I wish I had one of these. I have the Gilmour rocker jet, but it throws lots of water outside the set area, and seems to only been in production for a few months unfortunately. Nice video.
That had to discontinue that because of bad reviews
It took me almost a decade to get one of these Rocker Jets at a decent price they get really expensive. Funny enough I’m actually now trying to get the Gilmour Rocker since they got discontinued recently.
@@andrew9485 I purchased mine at Target the week they came out. Glad I didn't hesitate buying one. I hope you end up finding one soon. They are pretty good aside from spraying water out to the side.
@@bluestingerborg alot of those Gilmour rocker jet clones would get stuck or have excess side splash and cause poor operation. I knew one that ran for a minute and got stuck in reverse and wouldn't trip back
@@NelsonBigGunP200Fan Allot of people said that in the reviews.
This is a stationary spray ?
Is rain jet the company or the name of the product?
It’s the Name of the company
