It Took Me Over a Decade to Like these 10 Albums!
Nice picks there. :) Lots of great opening tracks for sure.
Thanks Kim!
Hi George!!! killer response to this very popular thread..... That was the first AC/DC album i ever heard and "Hells Bells" as an opening track is a great statement. Always loved Dokken's "Back...." first song and yes the lyric theme is(was) very "serious" back then. Ratt's "You're in Love" riff is so wicked and catchy at the same time..... hahaha, just watched Jurgen response video and he also showed that Sodom record. Man i need to get Mercyful Fates first two cds.... cheers and be well
Thanks Cristian! Yes definitely get those 2 Mercyful Fate albums! Total Bangers!
Great Response video George..excellent selection Kiss of Death is my favorite Dokken song, such a banger Excellent Video 🤘
Thanks Marry! Much appreciated!
I'm with you on over the mountain. I always loved it too
Thanks Sean!🤘
Great response to Thomas's thread, George! A lot of 80's goodness you chose! Good to see Twisted Sister, AC/DC, Dokken, Ozzy Osbourne and Iron Maiden.
Thanks Tony it was harder than you think!
Hi George!!! Well done ans cool additions to the collection.... sorry to see those Ramones records are unplayable, at least the artwork will be great for framing. I have that live Rush cd, it's from my brother's collection, great shows and setlists. I still need to get that Jimi Hendrix's cd, great stuff and the Sea Hags too, keep hearing cool things about it and also give a try to Hammerfall. cheers and be well
Thanks Cristian glad you liked the video. Yeah the Ramones albums are cool for the covers alone, my wife paid a little too much for them being in the shape they are. Oh well, take it easy Cristian!
Very close to my ranking. Huge fan of Heart Attack. Stampede is underrated. Change Of Address I’d have a little higher. I like Dirty Dynamite but for me Hoodoo is the best of the later era ones
Yeah Hoodoo is a good one from their later era! Thanks for watching!
God of Thunder # 1, its one of their heaviest, darkest songs. Detroit Rock city # 2. I cannot stand Flaming Youth.
I get that. We can't like everything! Thanks for watching!
My favorite Kiss album. I must say, I didn't get it right away either. But it grew on me. 👍🏼
I went back to hear this album all over again and it is a great album. But as I was searching back Kiss songs I came across, I Still Love You from the Creatures of the Night album. This is the first time I have ever heard I Still Love You. All I have to say is wow. How could I have missed this album.
Haha! Creatures is my second favorite album of all time! It's one of their heavier albums! Cheers!
Hi George!!! cool idea and solid ranking...... I think many Kiss fans normally chose between this album and "Creatures....." as their favorite albums studio albums and i think "God of Thunder" is the best song. cheers and be well
Thanks Tony yeah Creatures is my 2nd favorite by them
Nice stuff. That Carcass is something that I could buy also. That Amorphis is good one. I got that t-shirt. I liked that old logo more than this new one. They should start uusing that again. I bought also that Hendrix alum. mr. Finglish (Bäd English Recs)
Thanks. Yeah I like the old Amorphis logo better too. Need to get some of their later albums also. Thanks for watching!
@@georgegsroomofrock9868 Yeah they have made some really good albums with Tomi Joutsen. And they are great live band with him.
Nice pick-ups there. Excellent Carcass album. I saw them live on that tour.
Cool.that must have been a great Show!
@ They rocked! :)
nice pickups, road to ruin is my favorite Ramones album apart from Too Tough To Die...Sea hags is awesome top to bottom...great stuff from Amorphis...love some hammerfall too....I love the band of gypsys album, I think he has buddy miles on drums on that one....oh yeah, those first 2 Cactus albums are great!...oh I've been out of it for a while, but have you done a favorite live albums video yet?
Thanks Ron. Yes I've done a couple. Check out my Playlist on my channel it's under Live albums!
I'm still a passionate collector of CDs !!
Hey George, fun idea and I like your ranking. I would slide a few songs around personally but all the songs are good on Destroyer. I’d love to see you rank the songs on other albums. I’ll throw two out there. First Maiden album and 1984
Yes I'm going to do more of these and those 2 are coming at some point!
Nice selection of tunes you picked up, George. Recommend checking out Firebird, not sure who else plays with Bill Steer in it but albeit totally different from Carcass, really good tunes on their three cds that have.
Cool never heard of Firebird, I'll check it out!
Great pick ups. That Doors cover Amorphis, you can find it on a Tales of a Thousand Lakes reissue.
Yes i did see that. But I'm happy with the EP nonetheless! Thanks for watching Steve!
@@georgegsroomofrock9868 I would be too! awesome EP.
Carcass and Amorphis are staples in my collection. Cactus is great but they cheaped out on the packaging. Waiting until it's fairly cheap to pick it up. I'm just grateful they even put it out to begin with. Filling in some holes in discographies here recently. A person could literally collect for a lifetime and never be done lol. The mind of a collector I guess lol
Oh yeah I know it just when you think you're done collecting, you just keep on going! Thanks for watching!
Nice additions George. I have never heard Of Cactus until recently. There is this really cool guy on RUclips that sent me a Cactus compilation. I will have to check that out after I get my fill of holiday music 🤘
Cool, I wonder who that Cool guy is!😂
Cool collection update, George. It's nice to see some old Ramones records. Cool CDs as well. Good to see Rush, Amorphis and Hammerfall.
Thanks Tony!👍
I cut my rock n roll teeth on destroyer. I was 5 in 1980 when my grandma got me the 8 track tape that my mom would play over and over for me in a 77 ford Ltd. I would imagine that guy wrecking getting killed in Detroit rock city. You can hear him pump the gas like we use to do on carburetor cars
👍👍
My favourite 70's Kiss album by far and that's because of, rather in the spite of, the production values.
Nice video, George. This is probably heresy, but wonderful record as it is, Destroyer doesn't make my top six KISS albums in part because Ezrin's sound isn't to my liking. The other 5 classic albums, plus Creatures I prefer. Here's my ranking of Destroyer songs which shows a preference for Paul's vocals, as you can see: 10) Rock and Roll Party; 9) Great Expectations; 8) Beth; 7) God of Thunder; 6) Sweet Pain; 5) Flaming Youth; 4) Do You Love Me; 3) Shout It Out Loud; 2) King of the Nigh Time World; 1) Detroit Rock City
Thanks, like your take on it. To me it's a classic but others just don't feel that way. Thanks for watching!
If you bumped God of Thunder up to number one and left the rest in place that would be my ranking. God of Thunder has always been my favorite Kiss song.
Solid ranking on songs from Kiss Destroyer, George.
Gotta love Scott and his collection! Glad you picked up some great stuff!
Some cool Thrash pickups George! 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Thanks Josh!
@@georgegsroomofrock9868 You're welcome mate 😁🤘🏻

Nice pick-ups. Scott W. talks a lot about Boone's Overstock, but buying from them would be tricky for me wha5 with the shipping to Europe and all that, so it's cool to see what you picked up. Wouldn't mind getting my hands on that Mortification album. Good Ultimatum albums :)
Thanks yes shipping is crazy. When I get stuff from High Roller the shipping is ridiculous
I have about 1300 vinyl records and around 2000 CDs. The problem with CDs is the loudness wars. Too often remastered means the CD was made louder. I don't need that. My stereo came with a volume control. I love CDs but I don't need or want loudness wars CDs.
Yeah they get a little ridiculous with that!
@@georgegsroomofrock9868 exactly. Totally unnecessary
Killer picks up brother. Cheers G
Thanks Mark!
Nice additions, I think that I will check Boone’s out right now!
They need to give me something for free advertising!😂
Hi George!!! another cool collection update/haul..... it's so nice to see some lesser known bands like Accuser, a band i discover thanks to other vc channels and also Scott's band too. I'm not very familiar with all the christian metal/rock scene (just know Stryper) so it's cool to learn about all those other bands. cheers and be well
Thanks Cristian definitely check out Scott's band Ultimatum he has a voice very similar to Steve Zetro from Exodus!
Awesome collection update George! Nice to see Mortification, Sacrament, and Accuser. Good stuff!
Thanks as always Tony!👍
the most important quality of CD is the date it was made. 1994 and beyond - Loudness Wars dynamically crushed. Pre 1993 - the widest dynamic range you are ever going to hear in the digital realm. EG: New Cure album digital CD/DL - Dynamic Range 05 - only 5db range between quietest and loudest sound. 1989 Cure Disintergration has a DR12. The terrible mid 2000s remaster - it lost 4db of information. DR08. Loudness Wars. There was a war. Apart from orchestral - there were no sonic survivors.
That's a great point! Loudness wars is significant!
@@georgegsroomofrock9868 they just pitch corrected Freddy Mercury in the latest $grab version of Queen I. They. Pitch. Corrected. Freddy. Mercury. As well dynmaically crushing the music itself. And that is what will start being spat out of streaming services around the world. Pre 1993 CDs (Rips) are going to be the Rosetta Stone of pop/rock music. Vinyl revival is in large part a response to LOUD ALL THE TIME - because the format's dynamic range limiation has proved a saving grace.....DR08 or lower and the needle will be out or the groove more than in. But the pink noise/neeedlefriction-smoothness of vinyl has always been a deal breaker for me. But in terms of digital.... Its an exceptional technological failure - that for so many years technology produced fidelity improvements - but then effectively created its own version of MAD - mutually asssured destruction. The war happened. Except for orchestral - there were no musical survivors.
CDs are better, overall: less expensive, shipping is more affordable, cheaper to manufacture, easier to store, they can work in cars. Records are overhyped.
Agree records are overhyped and overpriced!
Great vid. I'm a die-hard CD collector , has always been my favorite format. I love physical media, and the ability to hear an entire album start to finish without having to pause and flip an LP over has always been my preferred listening style. Keep championing CDs!
Thanks man! You too!🤘👍
My ranking for the Overkill albums would be🤘 20. ReliXIV 2005 19. Immortalis 2007 18. Bloodletting 2000 17. Killbox 13 2003 16. White Devil Armory 2014 15. The Grinding Wheel 2017 14. The Electric Age 2012 13. Scorched 2023 12. The Wings Of War 2019 11. Ironbound 2010 10. W.F.O. 1994 9. From The Underground And Below 1997 8. I Hear Black 1993 7. The Killing Kind 1996 6. Necroshine 1999 5. Horrorscope 1991 4. Feel The Fire 1985 3. Taking Over 1987 2. Under The Influence 1988 1. The Years Of Decay 1989
Great list yourself! Nice to see Necroshine so high! Underrated album!
Great video George! I think CD's are still relevant today, as you know, I'm a massive CD collector. I choose CD over vinyl mainly for price, but I've noticed the price go up! A few years ago a brand new release over here was £10/£11, now its £14/£15!! Makes a difference you know! But still it's much cheaper compared to vinyl. Another reason is space, CD's are much easier to store than vinyl. You made some great points yourself mate 😁🤘🏻🤘🏻
Thanks Josh, yeah I've noticed the cd prices are up a bit. Maybe that's proof they are still somewhat popular, but still way way cheaper than vinyl! Thanks for watching Josh!
@georgegsroomofrock9868 You're welcome man! Yeah, it's annoying CD prices have gone up a little recently. But yeah, they're still way cheaper than vinyl. You can still get 2/3 CD's for the price of one vinyl. You're right, the rise in price shows they're still popular and relevant today! You're welcome mate 😊🤘🏻
Hi George!! I'm also a cd guy, still have some vinyl in my collection, but you're right prices are outrageous and in some cases it makes no sense to buy a piece of black wax for that $$..... i decided to have my "big" bands on vinyl, but not going to spend a lot of cash either or caring about OG's pressings - reissues stuff like that. Also the sound thing is also a thing i don't mind because i'm not an audifile guy and my setup is just average too. cheers and be well
Yeah i understand that reasoning! Price has alot to do with it!
I'm a CD person also and I'm really hoping that CD's don't ever go away and I just simply can't afford to buy vinyls all of the time and haven't bought a vinyl in 3 years great video George.
Thanks Ben. Vinyl is just insane with the prices!
Great video man!!! I'm a huge cd collector myself with around 1300 Cd's, I've had a record collection in the past and had no record player as I collected them more than played them. I ended getting rid of them as they are a pain to store and transport, not to mention that everything I had on record. I had on cd, so with that being said, all I collect is Cd's
Cool yeah that's a another good point you made, storage is hard if you have alot of vinyl compared to CD'S. Thanks for watching!
I've been collecting CDs and cassettes since I was 9 years old and I'm 43 now and still do it. Only have about 100 vinyl which I rarely play. The USB CD player is a great idea. Never knew they made one like that. Looking on Amazon after finishing the comment here. Even when the CD format goes away I will still be collecting.
Me too! That player takes some getting used to but I hope you like it! Thanks for watching !
Hi George!!! Well done and cool ranking too..... i'm not very familiar and not a big fan un doom metal, i have heard some Candlemass, Trouble and i tend to like the more "fast" songs and with a little bit of groove in the their sound, but i know i have to check out St Vitus and other cool bands like Cathedral, Pentagram just to name a few. cheers and be well
Thanks Cristian, Doom metal can get a little tedious if you're not into it. But check out those bands you mentioned, you might be surprised!
Hi George, I'm also a CD guy myself. Even though, CD & vinyl prices can be overpriced. Especially if it's a new release. I still go with the CD format. That's the format I always prefer & grew up with it. Sometimes it help save space and it's easy to find used CDs at second hand stores.
Yes used in shops is very beneficial that's for sure! Thanks Tony!
Don't like getting screwed on artwork on cds however do have 6K+ in collection. Physical goods still matter.
Yeah that is the one bad thing is the smaller artwork. Thanks for watching!
Still buy cds all the time, more than vinyl because they are more expensive, like you are pointing out.
They really need to reduce those vinyl prices!
You're spot on here man, prices are INSANE like Crazy Eddie lol, that's why I've slowed down on buying vinyl, I'm not gonna start collecting CD's again though, I just don't have the space lol, in my car I listen to my Spotify.
I get it. The vinyl prices are out of hand on certain albums! I knew you like a good record store run though! Lol
Love it George, I actually saw them live and they were the loudest band I ever saw... Bass heavy is one of the things I love about C.O.D lol...die healing was always my least favorite too, but I've got new appreciation for it lately... hard band to rank for sure, those 3 WINO albums from the late 80's are in my top 4 ... I'm still missing the debut believe it or not! ... enjoyed this George!
Thanks Ron! Still love all their albums! They need more props!!
