Excellent work, friend.
Incredible how all the details come out, even the smallest ones.
Very fine sand you have there, I'm always amazed by the good surface finish you get on your castings.
What type of sand is this and what binder do you use?
Hello. Water. Nothing special. Wetter sand holds better.
Very impressed as always. Watching you work is a real treat.
😍😍😍
😍😍😍😍
Gran trabajo.
I love the book moulds.... Martin
Lesgal
Awesome !!!
what kind of sand is it?
Nice! I am glad that I did not have to cast all those bits.... Martin
Very nice finish on those castings.
Nice result, is the clay mixed with water or is it an oil clay?
Your skill at extracting a pattern from the mould is mind blowing - well done... Martin
1:21" steady hand, excellent detachment.
Very well done, I'm amazed by your steady hands and patience with pulling that pattern. Nice job!
Nice to see you again and well done as always. Oh! To have possessed that pattern withdrawal skill....Martin
Amazing!
Very good work
Very nice casting work amazing
Must have missed this one when it was first published!. Absolutely brilliant pattern extraction - steadiest hands I have ever seen.... Martin
Sencillito nomás
Good job!
maestro
I am amazed at the ease with which you extract the patterns from the mould.... Martin
Hi Martin, Yes, that's how easy it looks on video, but actually goes slowly.
Brilliant! Casters of the world take note!
I like the use of the vent shaped chill on the thick end - very clever.... Martin
Each piece is a work of art. Where can I buy this green sand? Is the metal you use regular brass or is it a special alloy? The golden yellow color is very beautiful.
Nagyon jó video ,szép mesterség.Hol tudnák vásárolni öntőhomokot és formát itt Magyarországon?
Nice to see some hand cut oddside work. Why the water at 5.05?..... Martin
It is an auxiliary form with which I start the next one. I ram it much harder and make it with much wetter sand so it can last several cabinets before it collapses. - And now I solved it like this to make the sand wetter:) . If you have to make a lot of it, then I pour gypsum in that part. You've already seen made of gypsum on the channel. ...so that you don't have to start this long process every time you format.
bravo on sent la maitrise du process ! :)
When casting brass the zinc burns out and burns onto the spoon. It has such a white color.
Yes, I too am curious as to what the white coating is - do you buy it in or make it up yourself and if the latter what is in it?..... Martin
I found your channel 2 days ago. What is the white coating?
what is fallout powder to minute period 1:40" - 1:43" ?
I do enjoy watching a master such as yourself at work - nice to see someone who knows how to do it.... Martin
Congratulation !!!
Laszlo, Nice to see some more of the foundry. I would have the plinth brick bigger in diameter so it matches the base of the crucible better - it might help with that bottom breakaway. The plinth should be round rather than some hacked up square. Also I think that perhaps the crucible is a little low - maybe it could be 20 to 30 mm higher. The center of the flame height should be the same as the base of the crucible. Although it is not so important with a non-lift out situation I always use some padding between the plinth and the bottom of the crucible. Typically I would use 30 - 40 or so sheets of newspaper as it provides a cushion and helps prevent sticking. A "glossy womans magazine" is a good cushion too and this paper is usually filled with kaolin, a very good refractory which helps prevent sticking. An A 120, I will bet it hurts when you have to buy a new one of those 😊.... Martin
Hi Martin, that's exactly how I think too, but it is not always possible to achieve the optimal situation :) Here I see that 50% of the flame is in direct contact with the crucible. If the flame does not come into direct contact with the crucible, but goes around the wall of the furnace, these crucibles last up to 200 times, but the energy consumption increases by 15-20%. If the flame is in 100% contact with the crucible, it lasts 50 times and energy consumption is reduced by 15-20%. Energy is expensive or the crucible? In this furnace heating 80 - 100 kg of brass to casting temperature requires 25 - 30 liters of oil, and the crucible lasts 100 times. The price of 1 such graphite crucible = the price of 130 liters of oil. Therefore it is conceivable that the furnace is made based on different aspects in different parts of the world.
How long did your last crucible last? How many melts?
Szia.
Whoooooo first again lol
