    I am really Interested in learning how to hit high notes

  • @ladyofstar13
    @ladyofstar13 19 часов назад

    When you say the high notes isn't thinking up, but it's going front and backward. Do you mean you're hitting the sound to the roof of mouth from teeth, middle of roof of mouth to back towards soft palate?

    • @AngiesVocals
      @AngiesVocals 9 часов назад

      @@ladyofstar13 hey :) yes. Great illustration. And as the notes go higher it actually feels like they are going out the back of your throat - low - you will still feel the sound hit the front of your mouth also - everyone feels it slightly differently - Interestingly it’s the front, the back, the larynx adjusting in your throat, diaphragm engage and tongue adjusting shape all at same time -

    • @AngiesVocals
      @AngiesVocals 9 часов назад

      @@b-l-u-e thanks for your question. Most of the time we are using way too much air when we sing. The idea of this exercise is to learn how to consciously reduce our airflow so that we can learn to control it better when we sing. Your vocal folds vibrate around 160 x a second in your talking range so therefore you need very little air to create sound there. As you go higher they resonate faster and faster so the higher you go - the less air - you need to create the same volume. ⭐️🎤 amazing huh!

      @@MrBubbyG_Official hey :) it does depend on your teachers methodology. And what your goal is. There are a lot of exceptional teachers out there, and then there are lots of teachers practicing on students. Bottom line is that it takes time to train muscles so nothing happens fast.

      @@dowtube1Generally those people who can sing high notes more easily don’t have as much tension in their jaw, throat, neck muscles and therefore naturally doing things we are not doing like correct tongue placement, shape of mouth opened, breathing etc. In other words they are doing most of the techniques better than the rest of us without realising it. And But they can improve too if they have good coaching. E.g. They might already be operating at 80% while we might only be at 20% before coaching Just like some people are naturally very good at skate boarding or surfing after practicing, but with a coach they’ll improve even more.

    The diaphragm and intercostal muscles serve the voice like bellows serve a church organ and it is the pipes that give the quality of tone and the resonance. I absolutely disagree with your emphasis on the diaphragm to vocalise though of course it is essential but only once the real instrument ,the organ pipes are beautifully functioning. I absolutely agree on relaxation. BUT the way to relax the vocal mechanism is not primarily what you say. And that is the hard part of singing which requires great concentration and much practise and of course true tuition with the vocal instrument not the bellows.

    • @AngiesVocals
      @AngiesVocals 26 дней назад

      @@grahamcmusic great point. What I’ve found with a majority of my students is that most people who sing most contemporary songs styles are squeezing so much and pushing from their throat (compression or muscle tension dysphonia) that we need to remove the resistance in the throat and reset correct placement initially. Then the air/muscle balance corrects itself and we can then get freedom with the diaphragm. I’ve seen time and time again people trying to correct breathing and it gets stuck in the throat because the muscle memory is still pushing from there.

      Hi there. Thanks for your question. So we are talking about needing very little air for optimal singing (while we are learning to get the correct muscle/air balance we let the air out as an exercise) but needing less air doesn't mean not using the diaphragm. The BIG question is, does the act of visualizing distract the part of our mind that wants to clench and push and work hard for those elusive high notes in turn allowing the body’s natural ability to hit them to just happen? In other words when we imagine something we momentarily get out of our own way and the body can just do what it was born to do (with ease). I guess it doesn’t matter.. if it works it works!! 😅. So I thank you! I couldn’t find anything on the purple ball online - does anyone know where I can find more on it? Maybe under a different name ?

      @AngiesVocals Месяц назад

      @@UtheGuru it’s a great question. It seems to be different for everyone. For some people it works for some not. What I have found is that most people visualise the wrong thing (high notes are up) so it just gets worse. My personal frustration when I had vocal damage was that nothing worked. Either way my voice got worse and worse and nothing worked. I have found with the right guidance people can gain mastery. The purple ball is an example of how quite often people feel mix/free voice differently. Some of my clients say it feels like a ledge, some can’t feel anything. Some feel like it’s a colour, a place, a shape.
