I just wanted to get a little Tekken in before starting the day...
Context:
- This was a casual match I played very early in the morning
- it was a 5 bar when the game showed it to me
- I'd been waiting a while before taking it
I've censored the opponents name because I don't think they were in any way malicious. Wifi connections are inherently unstable and this one just tanked particularly hard.
Please stop playing competitive games over wifi, the netcode is bad enough as it is.

Qanba Drone: The Best Stick Under $100?
Просмотров 11 тыс.2 года назад
In the sub-100 dollar price tier, the Qanba Drone is arguably the best out-of-the-box experience. With great features like a highly responsive board, tournament lockout, and a very well thought out layout. While the buttons and lever are clones, they're easily the best feeling clones I've used. For all that it only has a few downsides. It's platform support is limited to the PS3, PS4, and PC. T...
How to Add Button LEDs to the 8BitDo Arcade Stick
Просмотров 6 тыс.2 года назад
Today I’ll cover a more advanced project on the 8BitDo Arcade Stick; adding LEDs to the buttons. This project isn’t strictly difficult at its core, the most basic approach only requires a small screwdriver, a pair of scissors, and some electrical tape to insulate wires. Other than the LED strip itself, of course. You can use the scissors to cut wires and strip insulation. Then just bind the wir...
Can you REALLY Build an Arcade Stick for $20?
Просмотров 9 тыс.2 года назад
Are you ready to add the power of ceiling fans and lube to your arcade experience? Want to understand what any of that’s about? Find out as I show you how to build a $20 DIY arcade stick. There’s plenty to be skeptical of in these extremely inexpensive DIY arcade kits that online retailers like Amazon are flooded with. But is the skepticism warranted? Or are we all missing out? In this video, I...
Sanwa JLF Perfected? Otto V5 Kit Installation
Просмотров 16 тыс.2 года назад
Sanwa’s JLF is a classic, and the standard for arcade quality joysticks. Renowned for its smooth and precise movement. Could it be better, though? That’s exactly what the Otto DIY V5 mod kit aims to do. The V5 kit upgrades multiple key functions of a joystick with extremely high-quality parts, including a pivot made of Teflon. In this video I’ll show how to install it, discuss its performance, ...
How Much Can You Mod An 8BitDo Arcade Stick??
Просмотров 32 тыс.2 года назад
Hello again, and thanks for coming back! 2023 Update: 8BitDo appears to have updated this model. The bottom screws are no longer torx/safety screws. There also doesn't seem to be glue on them anymore either. In this video I go over modding nearly everything in an 8BitDo Arcade Stick. In this video I’ll show you how to: - Get the case open - Change the gate on the default joystick - Swap the def...
8Bitdo Arcade Stick: Review and Gameplay
Просмотров 5 тыс.2 года назад
In this video I go over the 8BitDo arcade stick, a commonly recommended beginner stick. Involves a full discussion of the stick’s parts, features; the good and bad. I also show it off with trials from a couple of games so you can get a feel for what it’s capable of. Music: Axian, falcxne, Makzo - Airplane Mode chll.to/fae2df82
Why are people so afraid of soldering?
hey i have like a decade old qanba obsidian and ive been noticing lately that i get 1 frame of an 8 input after quarter circles or down down sometimes I always thought this was execution on my part but now im looking for solutions hardware wise Would this kit be the best way to possibly avoid snapback issues or would i be better off looking for a new stick ?
It looks like they have the same kind of plates in there.. Do you think it's possible to add more plates to make it heavier? To me the stick isn't heavy enough as when really fast movements to escape dizzy and grabbed states it comes off the desk and bangs up and down on the desk a lot.
how in the world did ou get the plate off so easily?!?!?! On mine, the screws have this plastic coating on the underside the gets caught in the bolts whenever i try to unscrew them and now i'm pretty sure i've stripped out all the screws....
i bought a kit for 10 freedom bucks. it didnt come in a box pins were bent. i just bent it back into shape myself. i used an old plastic shoe box and i reinforced it with one of them tubes once you finish a roll of aluminum foil. it works ok,
Bro I went to focus attack or paradise arcade I can't remember but it was one of thr big 3..my son has to play on a fightstick for accessibility reasons. We had the razor atrox we loved the jlf in it. The microswitch went out so I bought a pcb with thr switches and well it wasn't any hood it had more missed inputs than the original broken 1.then the green pcb board started to peel off and it was a brown tan board under a sticker. So I spent the money and got him a nacon dijah and it came with a knock off jfl..and thr switches are broken. I need help I'm trying to find a pcb with good micro switches or a good new stick unit
do you know, how to mod it so the lights will flash, once you push a button?
thanks for the video. do you have the same for the xbox 8bitdo stick? because iam going to mod that one and would appreciate info regarding that. where did you get that gameboy tshirt? looks cool!
whats the game he's playing ?
If want to play at the tournaments using the Otto V5, then there should be the rules-- 1. Use the old JLF actuator. 2. Use the FD square gate. NOT BYF rounded square. FD square.
Which one would you like for old arcade games like Pacman?
My advice is actually to get a soldering kit and to use an old controller as your PCB.
Silly Question. What's The Purpose Of Switching Out Switches 🤔 Going To Buy Some 90mm Buttons For A Project Diva Controller. But I Heard The 90mm Stock Buttons That Comes With It Are Trash... And Recommend Swapping Out For Omron Switches.. Why Is That?🤔
Maybe swap out joystick with mechanical WASD keys...
How do you know how personal lube reacts to soap and water? 🤔
Where you get silencer pads?
lol, i made a stick with 2 sheets of 5x7 proto board, 19 micro tactile switches, 2 slide switches, and a pi pico board.
If you are willing to add one or, at most, two hours of additional work; and probably a couple dollars, you can get a clone Arduino micro and look for a code on Google for less, more consistent latency.
Will this work with PS5 right out of the box? Some say it does.
Beng😊
Was
Where do I purchase the buttons you used, or at least the ones very similar, including the concave tops?
Does this stick work on Ps5? I keep seeing people say it works on PS4 compatible games?
I modded my JLF with a 15lbs spring and an OTTO DIY v2 blue grommet on my custom Trashbox and lemme write that it has changed my Life. Haven't tried the v5 but if it's as good as you say it is I'll get the pivot part. You have a golden radio voice btw!!
Awesome video, just bought one..
I just bought an Otto square gate for my JLF, it feels more travel than Sanwa original gate.
Let's mod our stuff to be nothing like the arcade!
Any decent knife will Spyderco is the way to go 😊
Se puede en un stick mayflash F300??
So what happens when I replace the zero delay boards with rp-2040-ce. I just want a dual arcade stick to play some old arcade games with my little niece.
In that situation, I don't think it matters. I made this video assuming someone is trying to play fighting games semi-seriously. Where the inconsistency of that board will regularly mess up combos. Or anything timing sensitive, really. Unless you already have all the tools and materials on hand. I think you'd be better off getting a couple Hori fighting stick minis and calling it a day. But for your use case this would be fine
@@Hops_fgc Yeah I'm not going to use those boards you'll get a couple raspberry pico clones for under 10 euro, As for the case I have hardly no tools but I can use the laser cutter at the local library for the top and there some woodwork places where you can do your thing for a couple of euro's. Should be a fun project. Thanks for the info.
tools are not included in the price, that is just common sense. that's not grease homeboy 😂that asian special sauce 😂
thank you
I built an arcade stick controller out of a cheap kit. It worked ok but I was not happy with the functionality of the USB interface. I modded it to work with my old school NES. Works amazing with my Nintendo.
HEY HEY I just SHMUPSCRIBED nice content good BUDDY I’m the legendary Silk SILKIETY Smooth 🤣👊🤘😎🤘
So basically swap out the stick with a higher quality one if it gives you too much shit?
So is it posible to make a rgb arcade joystick 🕹️ to glow,i got a mayflash f300 and installed a sanwa rgb stick,i just don’t have a way to make the stick turn on
And PS4?
Speaking from experience, The pcb he used doesn't work on PS4 unless the game has legacy support. Even then, some games like Tekken or soulcalibur might glitch out or have some inputs flipped.
Been doing a lot of research on cheap sticks the past few days. I am not a FGC player. I am a smash melee player playing a bit of SF6. I have used some 8bitdo stuff in the past and was amazed at the quality for the price. I actually recently pre-ordered the keyboard 8bitdo is releasing. I am really contemplating picking up this stick and modding the hell out of it.
For $20 these would not be bad spare parts to have laying around.
Do these come with longer shafts for 3/4” plywood installs. Based on what I have seen, these are normally installed on thin sheet metal tops. Thanks for the detailed vid.
Reckon Durock Dolphin switches fit? Perhaps by modifying it?
No, the cap of these buttons won't interact correctly with MX style switches. If you want MX style switches in an arcade button look at Crown 202 buttons. Gamerfinger buttons would work too, but they're harder to come by
will the Seimitsu LS40 fit inside this
Yeah, the LS-40 fits just fine
Sound test on both ?
Does this mess with the wireless functionality in any way?
Nope, wireless functionality would work like normal
@@Hops_fgc Thanks. Now to plan more risky mod projects 😋
Thats actually nice I was dreading having to resolder new logitech switches to replace these in a few years
Mine was the same having excess material on the tabs holding the gate on. I didn't notice at first and almost broke a tab
I got the v1 kit
How is it? I've heard it's a more unique experience than the v5
@@Hops_fgc I’ve never tried the v5 kit but I like the v1 it feels almost like a seimitsu
Because of the nostalgia of concave buttons, I was a bit taken aback by no bat top. Concave buttons and a bat top stick is peanut butter and jelly to me. Anyway, Great Job!
I partially tailored the build for the video, I figured most people watching would be looking for a traditional Japanese balltop. I built a custom Happ/American arcade style stick for my own nostalgia fix
Hi, thanks for your video. Your thoughts re this being a good fit for the Hori stick was actually super useful. I am about to get the Hori Alpha for PS5 and was considering trying out this mod kit. Now I will probably just go with a tighter spring and that's it. So thank you for your honest opinion.
If I could afford the $60 right now I would not be watching this video.
If you have the tools required, you can absolutely save money this way. I made this video to not just show how to do a project like this, but also to be very transparent and show potentially hidden costs. If someone doesn't already have or can't borrow the tools required to do something like this; they're likely to go way over budget.
