Hey viewers. I am an amatuer photographer and videographer with various interests. First and foremost I am a Christian and this defines my purpose and being. I love getting out to photograph and video my surrounds, especially abandoned and historical sites, and surf and coastal videos. I also enjoy putting together Christian worship and teaching videos.

This Commercial Banking Coy of Sydney in North-Western NSW, which by the way is more than 600km from Sydney, is currently occupied. I'm told that the current resident divorced about 30 years ago and as a part fo the settlement, if he sells the building half must go to his ex wife, so he is refusing to move - whether this is true or not I do not know. I just hope the building is heritage listed....

I came across this house, and with very few other houses in the street I asked one of the neighbours about it, and even though not lived in, the property is used as a cattle agistment so I stayed outside the gate and took photos from a distance. Thanks ES&B, music is a big part of my life. I can't sing, I don't play any instruments but I do present a radio show at the local community station each week. I do like a big eclectic range of music so I'm never short for what to put on these videos.

A bit of camera technique : Please pan slowly, zoom in slowly, zoom out slowly and hold the camera steady. When you do that it’s much easier to watch. Just saying.

Yes it is. The farm is still being used, as you could see, by their son and he is keeping he grounds kept, but I think the cottage will soon be gone

Yeah, I don't have the steadiest hands either especially when doing a video. I tend to move too fast too often - I need to be more relaxed when on site like this.

Glad you enjoyed it. Next time I will try better with the drone. I was wondering why it wouldn't go the distance and once I got home I realised it was on novice mode preventing it from going more than 30 metres away. It was my first time flying one also.

I haven't been out there since the 2019 fires. I believe the school at Kookaburra burnt down, however they have rebuilt it.

Can I live there?
It's not my house but I was told by one of the neighbours that because of the asbestos, the house is not allowed to be rented out any more. The same as the house the lady was in that I was speaking to. If she moves away the landlord isn't allowed to rent that house out again either.
So sad to see this house so dilapidated, when it once housed 12 people in its prime, and the activity in this home must have been so productive. Where did all the fruit trees go?

A great Vid, Geoff! I loved the shoe tree, and all those rusty old tools hanging on the sheds. The old pushbike amongst the bamboo. The old place is totally locked in by the bamboo forest, now. Wouldn't it be amazing to time-travel back 60 years to see a family living in this house, with their chooks and the machinery all in working order, with plenty of good clean water and electricity! I wonder where the children who have grown up live these days? We can only wonder!
I was there about 6 years ago and there were 2 dogs chained up to keep "visitors" away. Yes, I'd say a family may have been there back in the day, but I'm certain it was only a single person or a couple there when I went past. Makes me wonder if there was anything else growing apart from the bamboo though

It is crazy how 10 years can age a neglected home. I wonder if it was what they called a catalog home, like they used to order the blueprints from JC Penny catalog. That was once someone's pride and joy.
A spec home is usually a first off of its design, where a builder has purchased the land and built a house of their own design before selling it. These are usually a prototype for future buildings.
There is something so fascinating about old buildings setting empty. Thanks for sharing these. My husband and I really enjoy watching abandoned buildings videos from time to time. New subscriber here. All the best, Christina
