High Mileage Track Miata [Ep. 2] - Tires, Coilovers, Differential Fluid Change
Просмотров 1482 месяца назад
So the Advanti Storm S1 in 15x7 came in, with some 195/50/15 Hankook RS4s wrapped around them. The initial plan was to just put these on and go to the track. However, I found that the left rear shocks were leaking and the spring was cracked. So I purchased coilovers that won't break the bank - Yonaka Track coilovers. They're not adjustable and the spring rates are pretty high, but I won't be st...

So after almost 10 years, I've finally started adding to my stock 1990 NA Mazda Miata. I know it's already basically winter, so I guess I can share what I've done over this summer in the next videos. Plans changed even from just this video alone, so let's see how this project pans out to be! A month ago, we took the NA Mazda Miata a short camping trip and realized that it would be too uncomfortable for our road trip to Banff, Alberta to visit the Canadian Rocky Mountains. So The E92 M3 was the car we did it in, and it was a great time :) Music: expression by Pold soundcloud.com/pold-music Creative Commons - Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported - CC BY-SA 3.0 Free Download / Stream: ...
Camping with NA Mazda Miata: Can It be Done?

Going Camping in a small convertible (1990 Mazda Miata) did not seem like a good idea, and many people told me not to do it. But you have to do what you want, and we decided to go camping in a 30 year old convertible with very limited space. NA Mazda Miata: Still the Best Budget Track Car

The NA Mazda Miata has always been the "answer" when it came to choosing a budget track car. But there are other cars out there now that can give the Miata a serious run for its money. So is it still the best budget track car, in 2019? E92 M3 Track Day with a slight off track
Good stuff man! Keep the content coming. I have the same car and have been slowly replacing its old and rusted suspension components. I have notes for many of the torque specs and bolt sizes if you ever need another reference.
Thanks! Yeah the old suspension bits tend to seize and fail after 30+ years. That's helpful, I'll keep that in mind! 👍👍
Another Canadian Miata RUclipsr, cool! Good luck on your Miata track car build, pretty sure you'll find it can be a very capable seat time track monster, while going easy consumables.
Thanks! it's been a journey for sure, and I have found that it's been very reliable and has been a seat time monster! 👍👍
Looking forward to seeing the progress, red MK1 owner in the UK 👍
Thanks so much! Got to drive it a lot over the last 2 years and learned a lot! 👍👍
I had a Miata with 300k miles and beat the shit out of it almost every day, never had a problem, sold to a co worker that also had a Ford terminator cobra and he said the Miata was more fun to drive.
300k miles? That's impressive, and yes it's definitely one of the most fun car you can drive! 👍👍
Hell yeah dude, good luck on the journey
Thanks, the car's already been through a year and a half worth of track days since this video, but the journey continues! 👍👍

nice miata👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks! 👍👍
Great driving, it was fun chatting with you that day! See you on the track! - ISF driver
It was good to chat with you as well, see you at the next event! 👍👍
nice trip thanks
Thanks Bro! Such great scenery and details about the route. Cheers!
Wow, nice Car! :)
Awesome! I was wondering if I should just take a roadster camping instead of springing for a wrangler. You answered my question! Okay, here's a little tip in case you want to reduce the amount of stuff that is behind the seats... look up backpack camping. There are tons of gear for 2-person camping that will fit in 2 30-liter backpacks...
I always wondered how viable LIVING out of a Miata would be. Definitely a fun car with great potential, love mine for this exact reason! I've found that the space surprises lots of people with how much you can fit in the boot. I was also really excited to see another Alberta licence plate, it's not often you find a video so close to home! Do you have any plans for the Miata to do more of this? It was a lot of fun to watch and this would make a really fun continuing series! Additional note: if you put the top up you can use the parcel tray behind the seats for even more free storage, it works wonders (especially if you buy take-out!) And make sure to clean out your drain plugs after taking it in those dirt roads, I'd be real scared to take mine on some of our backroads but more power to you! Keep up the awesome work!
Heard that the petrol tank for this model is pretty small. Is that right?
칸쵸
Thanks? haha
I thought you are Korean. 칸쵸 is the snack you got in the Video
I've wanted to do this ever since I got my mr-s 3 years ago! Thanks for showing it can be done, one day I'd like to as well 😀
Oh wow it'll be a challenge in an mr-s as well, but I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun camping with an mr-s 😀
I have driven my 97 Miata from Chicago to Detroit Several times now on work trips people tell me I'm crazy but its fun I also stay off the interstates when ever possible. I have also taken it to Starved Rock State Park in Illinois and have packed it with 2 chairs a cooler picnic blanket and a small grill
Sounds sick! Definitely not gonna be harder with two people though haha
I just bought an NA Miata and I’m thinking about taking it a few hours to the beach for a week. It seems like maybe the trick to packing a Miata is to use garbage bags instead of hard cases so you can kinda squish them and squeeze them into all the space in the trunk. Aaaaand maybe taking out the spare tire and taking a chance. Either way it’s definitely a tight fit!!
Yeah the spare tire actually takes up a lot of space in the miata, so taking that out + using soft bags would allow you to fit more in
Great video man, im thinking about getting one as my first car but i dont know where to find one at
It's a great first car, easy to maintain and drive. Well depends on where you're located but I am sure it wouldn't be too hard to find
@@530drive6 hello bro. I wanted to know that for how much canadian dollars, i can get a miata na in canada? And for how much a miata nb in canada. Both as in good condition
@@Knockthefout NA should be anywhere between $3000-6000, and NB should be about the same actually, maybe a $1000 more 👍
@@530drive6 thanks a lot bro. I will move to canada in near future. About 4 yrs. So what's ur advice for miata na or nb? I want one for daily as well as drifting and i also wanna have low maintenance and low insurance and low repair costs. Plz share ur advice on which one should i buy. Thanks a lot. Have a great day ahead buddy.
@@Knockthefout NA and NB are nearly the same car, so everything (insurance, maintenance, etc) are also going to be nearly the same. If you get a miata I would also get a second car though, because although miatas can be driven in the Canadian winter it'll be hard on you and the car
I must say that I really enjoyed watching this video and I am surprised you haven't got that many subscribers! The editing in this video is nice and not overdone. Even though I am not really into camping, I have thought about this type of question before, but more in the form of "What if I go on a long trip with a friend to like England or something, will our luggage fit in the miata's boot?". I am myself considering getting something like an MX-5, RX-8 or Alfa Romeo GTV, all three not really ideal for long trips, although I have heard that the seats are quite comfortable in the RX-8 and the GTV, but this video shows that you can make it work! Good job!
Thank you so much, all three cars you mentioned definitely aren't GT cars by any means. But if it's not for super long haul trips, they will be interesting cars to drive on an adventure. Let me know how it goes!
Well I'm convinced! Going to buy a 2019 ND2 this year :D. Awesome vid.
Thats great! You'll enjoy it :) Especially an ND you'll have a great time 👍
Solid video, bro.
I m looking to buy a m3 e92 what do you think I should look for?
As long as the maintenance is done regularly, E92 M3s are solid cars. But I think the 'big failures' = throttle actuators + rod bearings are the ones you should look into if you wanted to cover all your bases. Otherwise, the 2008s have the older I-drive which is tedious to use, so go for the 2009+ if possible. Lastly, The M-button which allows you to change your suspension/throttle setting with one button + EDC (electronic damping control) to control the harshness of your damping were what I wanted. But it really depends on price/maintenance, because I would've bought a 2008 with no M-button/EDC as long as the maintenance was done + price was right :)
Miata Is Always The Answer
You're right!
same here. I have winter storage depression. just because the car is old doesn't mean you shouldn't store it. the e92 m3 is a dying breed and storing it preserves the life of an exclusive car, essentially a classic in the future. take good care of it man. I'm babying mine until the end
Yeah it'll definitely be like a classic in the future, so makes sense to store it and keep it in good condition if you can
Rev that baby to 8400 dude she wants it
