    How was the focus speed on eos R series

    • @DevynFromCFXTV
      @DevynFromCFXTV День назад

      Amazing! Faster than I ever thought a camera could do. Remember to have an RF Lens on RF body to get the better focusing. If you are referring to the EF lens , its better than I thought but not great for sports. It's just okay for sports, good for portraits. It responds to eye tracking decently. I should make another video on that specifically.

      @@KS-yv8ll I have never photographed Hockey, but as a sports photographer I can give you tips regarding what you may or may not experience if you get this lens. 1. The wide end is limiting, 80mm does make a difference, especially if you are in the seats and not in the designated photographer spots. 2. This lens does not focus so close, but hockey is fast, and they can fill the frame fast, my suggestion is to be far away and zoom in more often than not but that protective glass the players play in is not easy to get around especially if people are in the crowd/audience in front of you. 3. The lens does well tracking but zooming takes a second to spin. It does spin smoothly most of the time but that depends on what copy you get. 4. This things a tank, hockey pucks and players can nock it around, I don't anticipate an issue, but still be careful. 5. I would not use this on a crop body because it may be too close depending on where you are and where you can be. 6. No IS on the lens so watch your shutter speed, keep it high enough. Zoom in and check those extremities and fast moving parts of the subjects. 7. Use BBF Back button focus Hope this helps!

    Well, I bought the 7D II in 2023 and paid 330 € for it. The more I use it, the more I love it. You love it best with good glass. That's the secret to it. But let's have a comparison in 2024 I bought the galaxy S 24 Ultra, not for the camera function but for the AI function. I am doing medical research, so that was it. I compared the 200-megapixel sensor to the 7D II. The 7DII was notably sharper than the Samsung phone, even though that thing costed 5 times the money than I paid for the 7D II. I combined it with a 6D I also getting the holy trinity and it's great. I also feel the 7D II is a mayor improvement over the 7D I, specially in image quality, even though in the low light performance, It’s got it’s limitations. I would not have opted for the later. But that’s what I have the 6D1 for. Done deal. I am an amateur. Photography is one of the very essential things in my life, that I may not miss. It's the air that I breathe and this system will take me over years to come. Great vid bro. Roland from good old Germany.

      Yes! Thank you! This message means alot. I have an S21. My father has the 6D Mark I and I used the 7D II and I agree that the image quality leaf-frogged the 7DI. I like the 7D II better than the 6DI for its handling. I love the 6DI's image quality better though. I want to make another 7DVideo. What should I do it on? Maybe 7D Mark II in 2025!? or 7D vs 7DII in 2025!?

    • @alex_jermaine
      @alex_jermaine 8 дней назад

      @@DevynFromCFXTV I have not yet (thankfully) But that's interesting that you never cared. I've always thought that was big deal. I just bought one of these and it's great but it was a real work horse so I was just wondering if I should be concerned with the shutter count. But I guess you have a point. It shouldn't really matter right? I shouldn't have to worry?

    hello, I have the EF 135 f2 and the R5. Did you also notice that with this combination the IBIS becomes noisy? Mine does but only with this lens (EF 24-70 2.8, 70-200 2.8 and 16-35 f4 work all silent).

    • @DevynFromCFXTV
      @DevynFromCFXTV 17 дней назад

      Not exactly the camera stabilization. I know that older USM motors make a humming noise when you go to focus, but that slight noise never bothered me. I typically use the 80-200 which make a bit of noise when focusing due to its age, but If I were doing video it would be a big problem. All IBIS systems make noise. I know the R5 II and C make more noise based on their new open fan based designs, you can hear the IBIS even more. Are you sure its the IBIS and not the lenses shifting in the lens?

    • @StefanoCipo87
      @StefanoCipo87 17 дней назад

      @ yes it’s the IBIS and not the focusing, I am sure. Yes you can hear IBIS noise with all lenses but with this one is quite a bit louder, not too loud but you can hear it easily. I will ask canon but maybe this is normal behavior, I suspect IBIS noise changes based on focal length so with telephotos that do not have IS it’s louder. With my 70-200 2.8 it’s quiet but maybe it’s because the lenses also has IS and IBIS has to work less hard

    • @DevynFromCFXTV
      @DevynFromCFXTV Месяц назад

      So I fixed mine! You need to use LOCTITE. Its an industry standard to liquid you can use on your screws. I've been wiggle free for 2 years now. If you do it yourself Loctite costs about $10 other than that you are on your own. You are looking at about 22 small screws. You need o be very careful around the CF/SD Card slot. Once you get all of the required screws out, be EXTREMELY careful with opening the camera because the motherboard will still be connected to the big lcd screen and eye piece lcd screen. Unplug the ribbon cables that connect the lcd screens, then continue to sperate the camera while watching the hotshoe. The hotshoe will have 4 holes for the small screws that have little orange glue cups keeping them from falling into the camera. I retrieved them, applied Loctite to the treads and screwed them back in. DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK

    Almost nobody shoots events at f/8 - it's usually f/4 to really wide apertures like 2.8 and 1.4 - so that's not a problem. I shoot a Canon 60D and I can push it to about ISO 1250. I rarely go beyond 800, though. And the original 430-EX is one of the WEAKEST speedlites ever lol. Okay, you're just talking nonsense when you say MagMod has bigger modifiers than Flashpoint. You clearly are not speaking from facts. Oh, and lower the music when you're talking, It's way too loud and competes with your voice, which is low and mellow. That is, if you want us to focus on what you're saying.

  • @alecbuxton7634

    I wouldn't class the 7D mark I being long in the tooth as it can complete against the 2000D the one that I consider to be a bit long in the tooth but still usable camera that is very affordable and easy to use if you don't care about specs is the 1000D that is now a 16 year old camera that only has a 10 mp sensor and is a bit bare bones in the menus due to the age of the camera but is really user friendly

  • @alecbuxton7634
    @alecbuxton7634 2 месяца назад

    I would say that the 7D mark I Is still a usable camera in 2024 because if you really think about it the sensor is very close to ones in the entry level cameras that we would cost twice the price and probably also wouldn't be able to take as many photos in burst mode as the entry level ones are usually limited to 3 fps plus it's also a better quality built camera than an entry level one

      @DevynFromCFXTV 2 месяца назад

      Soap, lol. With smartphones and social media apps manipulating images, that's an interesting critique. Most people in western world want to mitigate the age factor. From the news to other forms of media, having a retouched look is more excepted because of the super resolution of these cameras. That's why iPhones and the make up industry is so popular, because they do it automatically . I will do it again with no retouching because your comment is valid to a certain extent.

    • @jasonbodden8816
      @jasonbodden8816 2 месяца назад

      @@DevynFromCFXTV Well, he has a major point. And a lot of RUclips content creators make this same mistake. It's difficult to know just how soft the light from any particular modifier is if you show us the picture heavily retouched as significant smoothing on skin voids what you're saying about the quality of light because we don't know how much of that is retouching and how much is the actual quality of the light. So it makes more sense to show the unretouched one and then the retouched one. I don't know why RUclipsrs like yourself think this is so strange. It's just common sense if you're talking about light modifiers.

      I'd go 3rd party. The sigma Art 50 1.4 is awesome for 500 or less. you only loose a 1/3rd of a stop of light, where as the cheap readily available 1.8 50mm lenses are quite darker and not good build

    The reason you cannot push it down and it's stiff to push,is because theirs a spring at the bottom of the pole on the inside to stop it just dropping if it not tightened up properly which stops your exspensive equipment from getting buggered or damaged.

    I switched from Canon R6 to Sony A7 IV back in 2023. Of all my Canon lenses I sold, I was like "No fn way! I am keeping the 135L and will adapt it!" and was glad I did. This is one of my favorite lenses even on a Sony camera. Been using this thing since 2010 and love it with all my heart. Its amazing and I do not think anyone needs the RF version or in my case the GM version. For $500 USD how can you beat this lens? YOU CAN NOT!!!!

    What do I use for smudges? and does the brush tool touch the lense?

    • @DevynFromCFXTV
      @DevynFromCFXTV 4 месяца назад

      It depends on what is in the smudge. If you have a grease/oils from your skin, in my opinion, use the lens wipes with the solution. Some smudges/ fingerprints with dust or light particles you can use just a microfiber cloth. For example, If a drop of rain gets on your lens and dries, then just use a microfiber. greasy marks and prints will smear, that's why you use the wipes. Dirt and heavy particulates can scratch your lens, so in that case you can use blower to lift it of the lens then clean it with wipes. The recommended cleaning brush used lightly an help get particulates off the lens.

    I have this one and Sony one . The reason I have the Sony one is I have Sony camera. I have the EF version that is because I can used it on Fuji GFX that is pretty much like shooting 82mm F1.1. Even on such a large sensor this one more or less holds up well against Fujifilm's own 110mm F2. It also does cover the Fujifilm medium format sensor completely.
