The Satrapic Hegemony: Every Month (501-494 BCE)

Happy April Fools! This is (obviously) not a historical event, but it's part of a long-winded alternate history series that you'll probably never see in a while. It's a bit of a private exercise, but I thought April 1st would be the perfect excuse to send a bit of it.
Late 3rd Intermediate Period (as per Kitchen, 1979)

A video I made during an internet outage. Don't take it as gospel, my main source was one book made 45 years ago. Consider it as a time capsule of what Egyptology looked like back then. Music is the Ramesses II war theme in Civilization V's OST.
[PREVIEW] The Fall of Bronze Age Civilization (1250-1177 BCE)

A preview of a larger video, that would encompass the peak of the Late Bronze Age, the fall, and the recovery in the Iron Age, covering 700 years from 1400 to 700 BCE. Greece will also have its separate video because the poleis are incredibly annoying to deal with and there are literally thousands of them. Music is "Rains will Fall" by Kevin MacLeod
The Neo-Assyrian and Neo-Babylonian Empires (911-539 BCE(-226 AD))

This video chronicles, in comprehensive detail, the final stage of independent Mesopotamian civilization. It is not the definitive version, however, as even putting aside errors, new information regarding ancient Mesopotamia is always being found year after year. As a disclaimer, ancient history has multiple interpretations regarding most events. This is my interpretation. #middleeast #ancienth...

What happens to a populace after an empire falls and its deeds are forgotten? This video shows the Anatolian peoples after the collapse of the Hittite Empire until the Persian conquest of Lydia, with the next part tackling the extinction of the Anatolians as a culture. The History of European Ideologies (Teaser)
Still a great video! the only one about the Bell beaker on RUclips as well! :)
@@hui-hui9921 i make it a point that if im gonna do a sleep-deprived, half-thought out video that it has to have never been done before
Is this real or just alternate history?
@@SelfbellHistory its alternate history
Where did you get sources for the tribes and other cultures
Aka the destruction of Megalithic Atlantic European Civilization.
this is a video
of all time
so you may be wondering. why did i do this? the answer is that i spent 2 hours "researching" the bell beaker culture only to find out that its only tangentially important to the video i was making (italy) and then three years later i did it AGAIN so i decided to make this video so i don't accidentally research the bell-beakers a third time
Sources and documents not linked in description. Disliked. 👎
@@bulgarsquirkysecondchannel293 its literally in the video credits bulgar
I can’t describe how amazing this is… this is on the level of the best mappers.
Great video, I was planning to do a video on the Middle East too
Good video, very underrated
El fin de los tiempos antiguos, la caida de reinos y civilizaciones
What do you think of Teresh actually being based not in Etruria/Tuscany but in the Po Valley?.
@@AmachiEligwe i think that theres literally not enough evidence to really pin anyone down under one location except for some of the sea peoples
Are Ahlamu Amonites?
@@AmachiEligwe they are a nomadic tribe that gave rise to the aramaeans
Certified hood classic
Great video, will you upload a list of sources and references with this or the second part?
i have a sort of list in a document? but it's not complete, and all the research was done a year ago so i can't remember what i forgot to put in it i'll post the doc in part 2, but yeah it wouldn't be complete
@ cool thanks, a least of sources would be very useful.
I hope you become one of RUclips's mapping Greats one day.
I think you should have used Finkelstein's reconstruction for Israel's borders.
Israel Finkelstein I assume. Interesting. Sadly for whatever reason when I search historian Finkelstein they give me Norman first🤢
Ramasssssssses
I just noticed with each Ramses, one extra s is added. that's an incredibly funny detail!
@@BagofBeans1 it gets boring by the third one, gotta keep spirits up somehow
However, Rameses Ⅲ was able to resist foreign invasions
Love how you show the danube delta, caspian sea and the persian sea as they actually were at the time, instead of using modern day coastlines
Part 2 when
You made a huge mistake! In 0:42. That's the Principality of Sealand, not the "Kingdom of Sealand"!
@@AduckButSpain wrong calendar epoch but i appreciate the sentiment
@@a.d.t.mapping Haha But I do have a serious question if you please may. What was the origin of the sea peoples from the Italian peninsula? And if you happen to know how much they were integrated within the Aramean, Canaanite, and the Hittite people? Thanks, the video is amazing.
@@AduckButSpain Well, of the people i showed: - Sherden are most likely Nuragic peoples (Sherden or Š-R-D-N has been used to refer to sardinia in later texts) - Teresh MIGHT be Tyrrhenians? - and Shekelesh could be Sicelians and none of these people were really mentioned again in a middle eastern context
Pure art dude
lemme know what you think about the intro! it'll be a staple in future major projects so i'd like to know what people think of it
Erm this is sooo slay
Amazing work.
amazing
I was literally listening to Imperator Rome - Elegy earlier today so I got jumpscared when it started playing Anyway, superb video!
can relate, Imperator soundtrack goes way too hard sometimes
incredible!
certified epic
I soyfaced when I saw the notification.
The dream is here.
Great video! Can you please tell what programs you used to creat it? Many thanks!
I always do love some old minecraft, if you made this a series or something that would be pretty cool
could you imagine if i did lol (i am playing in ollie bye's server)
this is not a new mapping video unfortunately (also i may or may not have forgotten to stop using 4:3 ratio in the editor)
Hello ADT
Decent video but i disagree with elam being listed as a minor adversary and not a major one
bronze age elam was menace iron age elam was an occasional annoyance thats my thought process with that
@@a.d.t.mapping I wouldn't call it a threat to the empire but it was definitely a rival considering Assyria decided to focus all their resources on them which led to powers like Egypt becoming stronger
