Is there anything special about the chip or anything other than the high heat involved with sterilization? This looks EXACTLY like an RDA coil used to build on Vape decks. Is there any reason I couldn't get the same result from modifying an RDA deck to sterilize by installing a MUCH larger inner diameter Stainless coil and firing it up? My mod can pump out 200 watts, 7 volts. Here's a video for a visual reference if you're not familiar with an RDA ruclips.net/user/shortsatgwa3lEKNw?si=G82WGXD-Yz6M9CMz
16/22 mm hose fit?
Hope the fan is adjustable that air is turbulent af
Great video, you cant' go simplier than this. One question: How much potassium hydrixode you need to disolve the hormones? Can you use sodium hydroxide too?
They should just sell it with clear tubing
What size are the lily pipes that you use?
Excellent build. The fan can be adjusted to be less turbulent.
Yeah, just turn it down a bit
i love the end it looks like the car aerodynamic wind tunnel test
THANK YOU SO MUSH🍄
Bet you saved about $400

DIY not laminar flow hood build
Two days ago I found out that the inflow pipe on my fluval 306 had a crack and it was badly leaking all over my floor. After some searching, I found your video and instead of paying the $22 for one fluval tube from Amazon, I went to Home Depot and replicated your video. This works. The only problem I have is now I need new inlet and outlet attachments, as the tank edge clips don’t fit the new pipes. Do you have suggestions for the lily pipes?
Solid information make appreciate you taking the time to share!
Clockwise becomes counterclockwise when you turn the 'I' connector around.
awesome!
Looks kinda turbulent to me..
by your logic even 2,000 laminar flow hoood is turbulent too lol..
It looks a bit too strong? Is it not?
I said this because I hate telling people they’re wrong. This is definitely too strong. Your lighters flame should be around 45’ and should not flicker and jump at all.
@MushMaam hello yes it was too strong , I’ve since added a pre filter and blower control knob :)
Sweet!!! Glad you made it work! 🎉
I don't think you hate it@@Propqueen
So cool to see the plants releasing oxygen
What if I use the uv clarifier? How do I adjust?
Sorry to be a nitpicker but what is 20% bleach??? Are you saying 1 part Clorox brand bleach for 4 parts water? That would be roughly 1.5% sodium hypochlorite which would melt any plant in about 2 minutes... how are you able to do this for 10 minutes? The plants should be totally white.
Hello 10% bleach is more widely used so yes 1 ml of bleach per 9 ml water. Some plants are more fragile than others when it comes to bleach
Why make a still air box if it's not sealed? Can't contaminants just float in through the holes? And you really shouldn't rely on sterilizing your hands as they're porous. You should use gloves if you're not gonna keep the box sealed 1000% of the time.
Thank you! It's truly the best tutorial..
why does it have to be that complicated? Can't I just make a system that fertilized water flows bellow the plant to get the nutritiens directly from water? Like a pump running water bellow the plant which is either in a spunge or on a wire mesh? Mainly I am planning to grow carpet plants. So, it is a challenge to grow like this but is it possible?
Did it work?

Thanks Aqua Mayne!
Use hose clamps. Works much better, muchsafer. Gooder.
Awesome video! Thank you for explaining and showing it all in great detail.
I'm trying to understand the mechanisms behind laminar air flow, because I'm interested in building a much smaller laminar air purifier. I know that the purpose is to create a bubble of clean air, and the key is to ensure that the outflow air has a uniform speed and direction to prevent dirty air from mixing in. If the outflow air had different speeds and directions across its width, turbulence would mix in dirty outside air. Some questions about this particular laminar flow hood design: 1. How well would it still work if the volume inside the box were smaller or larger? 2. How well would it still work if the filter were smaller or larger? 3. How well would it work if a HEPA filter were used on the input side instead of the output side, and a low MERV filter were placed at the output?
Great video!! Just what I was looking for!!
love the setup and the smooth edits!! easy sub
neat. thank you!
I ordered from the links and some of these parts it sends you to are the wrong sizes. You’d be better off going to your hardware store
I apologize about that. Which parts in particular. I will look into it
@@AquaMayne it’s the elbow it’s not threaded on one side and the 1/2 adapters aren’t the same but I think the ones they sent will still work
Buddy was sitting on the floor 3-4 years ago, love the progress mate big up to ya
Was wondering how I would do this with a longer leafed plant like Java fern.. would I cut off a majority of the leaf?
@ryanbrooks5692 rhizome works well :)
@@AquaMayne all I need is the rhizome of any plant and I can make a tissue culture?
yes@@ryanbrooks5692
Can we talk on a video call? I need to know more
I will see if I can make that happen. I am in busy season at work so around summer, just comment me soon and I will see
Your videos a few years ago helped me get started with Plant Tissue Culture. Dropping by to say thanks! Many aquatic plants have been cloned since 2021.
How often do you heat your blades before excising explants?
Every time :)
@@AquaMayne Sorry I meant how long you heat them 😅
Hi, great video, I built it according to specs and mine lights up red instead of blue, should I be concerned? Is it a grounding issue? Because I noticed the plug from the power supply into the foot pedal is two prong going into three prong. The coils do get hot and so does my scalpel! just getting a red light😢
@MamaKaz923 hello. Not sure I never saw mine do that , may have to read the coil instructions if there is any :/
@@AquaMayne no instruction 😕 but it's working so I'll just roll with it I guess
dude wtf lol
thanks its really helpful
Glad you found it helpful!
Awesome tutorial. Ordered the parts and can't wait to test it out. Thank you!!!
Glad you found it useful!

How well has this held up? I'd really like to try it.
Still holding up 3 years later
Excellent video my guy
nice! you can see plants reaching for the light during the day and relax at night.
