Great Video! Need more like this
Thank you Kevin!
Only just discovered your channel - your videos are so informative - thank you. Hope your move goes well.
Your videos are so so good. Your channel started giving me ideas of vsts and daws to use, but these last videos are really inspiring in an artistic way. Great work. ❤
What DAW are you using?
Studio One
Incredible. I’ve never wanted to take notes watching other videos but this one made me dust off my notebook
Good work - very interesting. 🙂
I like the direction that you're going. Not only making vst reviews but also making tutorials.
Thanks ❤️ 1:47 There is a mistake, F should be IV
Sorry, yes!
wow!! thanks for this man
Off... another absolute MONSTER video to edit. But it was tons of fun! Pattern #9 is definitely my favorite! Hope these patterns will be helpful to you. Seriously, use these! :) Wishing you all happy holidays and a good end of the year. Love you! <3
Thanks for the genorisity Kevin. Happy holidays to you too happy new year. Would it be possible to get a pdf cheatsheet with these progressions? No biggie, but if you created a cheat sheet for yourself for this video, would it be possible to share it?😊
This is so useful! Taking notes ✍🏼
Not a fan of Vienna Sound Libraries, issues with cracks and drops even with lots of memory, can’t figure how to adjust sample rates, I don’t use the Epic orchestra much because it’s problematic.
Thanks for making this video. Incredibly helpful.

How great u guys🔥♥️
So for my orchestral setup. I'm picking Nucleus Lite Edition then later upgrade to Nucleus Orchestral Core as my main orchestral vst librarie. Alongside the Free Orchestra 1 & 2 by ProjectSAM for other individual orchestral instruments. Plus, The Free Orchestra 1 has a Pipe Organ instrument: Organ Mystique. Audio Imperia & ProjectSAM makes such magnificent orchestral libraries. Nucleus Lite Edition / Nucleus Orchestral Core along with The Free Orchestra 1 & 2 will be the trio of best orchestral libraries. Komplete Start will the the trojan horse. With synths, band, effects, etc. Finally. My main DAW is going to be Mixcraft 10.5, An underrated yet excellent DAW. It's very easy to use, Very stable & flexible, The effects & instruments are amazing.
Cinematic studio is very consistent sound and interface wise. I did some comparisons with musrscore though and i found it much faster to get a good result, especially now with orchestral tools, spitfire audio, and cinesample orchestral libraries just $20 a section. It's pretty amazing how well it sounds.
Today you can get the berlin series orchestra for just $100 with musescore. Its a compressed version of the full product but there are advantages to using notation software including changing the dynamics of your whole orchestra in 2 seconds compared with a daw.
I don't understand why you're still recommending Nucleus to beginners, it has too much of a hyped sound, only good if you're writing epic holywood stuff, which beginner movie composers are most definitely not doing, also missing A LOT of articulations. If you're deeping your toes into orchestral writing, I''d go with BBCSO core, but actually I got Berlin Orchestra because of the educational discount, still missing some articulations that Spitfire has, but worth it, Orchestral Tools has one of the best costumer supports.
8:25 Nier !
Wooow ....thank you for sharing.....Please keep on sharing
A real 'go-to" video for total beginners in music. Well done !
Great video as usual. Because of lack of money, some people recommended UVI Orchestral suite (only 150$), but it's never mentionned here, i suppose it's not good ! I was hesitating on Miroslav too, just "to see" cause it's only 30$ on a bundle with a lot of other Ik multimedia things (that i can use, like cinematik percussions or prepares paino things) but it seems people consider Sampletank and IK like shit, but it's really cheap this way. Thanks for the work and effort put on this channel, inm just beginning my journey to compose orchestral parts.
So typical me : went to this video with a software in mind being recommended in some discussions between composer to begin with, and it's not there x) maybe it really sucks or didn't exist in this form at the moment of the video : The UVI Orchestral suite. Plus, i was curious about Miroslav cause there is at the moment a way to have it plus a lot of other things (some useful, some not) for only 30$ on Humble Bundle. But "serious people" seems to consider Sampletank and IK Multimedia like shit x) So i'm a bit confused. I currently use free things, like the BBC one or Big Bang Orchestra Free and i'm almost a total noob in composing (i don't know how to really compose orchestral parts and using all details like the list mentioned here as important features is too advanced for me. But. I struggle to have big fat sounds with the free BBC software. Ps: i also use LABS for solo violin or else but it recently became completely paid, with a -cheap - subscription monthly. It's temporary for a project, and they still have interesting libraries but specific ones, not enough to do full orchestral music.
Is the Cinematic Studio Series ever on sale? I may have looked at it at the wrong times, cause I have never been able to catch it on a sale.
25% on Black Friday. But you also get similar loyalty discounts if you buy one of them
@@KevinKuschel I see, thanks! :) It's been close to a decade though. I sort of feel like they are close to releasing the evolution?! Or perhaps it's so good the quality will hold up and last another decade?!
Very informative and you put the essence well together, thank you.
Can you make a video on writers block ?
Can I do this on a Rise Mode Vision 1 controller? In my country the stream deck is way too much, that's the budget alternative we have.
It works with every controller that you can assign hotkeys with
I want to do 8K video project with Music production So what graphic card we need But without graphic card we cant we cannot Do 8k video editing
Yes for video editing you need a good graphics card.
@KevinKuschel Because I am doing both the Product Project Like 8 video and music production any recommendation for me with the System.
I tried MUSIO (continue trying for free for whole 30 days along) and created a track using REASON+ VST, which I would like to share with you. ruclips.net/video/A-nvYsYJ41U/видео.htmlsi=ABYnWdFAEg10_mcG Thank You Very Much Kevin indeed for your instructions. Keep your good work for us :D
Dear Kevin, Thank you for all your incredible in depth informative videos. They have been such a great help for me, as I’m starting out on my own composer journey using computer-sample libraries. On that note, with your in depth experience and knowledge on what seems to be most of the best libraries, I really wish, that you at some point would try to do a deep dive comparison video about “Musio VS some of the best libraries like BBC and Nucleus”. From the videos I have seen, you have mantioned Musio some times, but only shortly. And I (and I think many others) are curious about, how well Musio actually stands up against the best like your Hollywood strings and Nucleus and even percussion like Damage and Tommi Percussions etc - not considering price. Best regards :)
Incredible. Does it have mic setup controls? Or maybe we can play with the built in fx?
I gave you a well earned like, sir Thx
That sounds SO NOT Hans Zimmer. You can orchestrate like him: take any chord, the bass note you give to the bass instruments like cello, the third you give to the violas and the high note to the violins and other instruments with the instrument range in the highs.
How to import them to LMMS? I can't find .vst file
thanks man. Appreciated ;D
A great video sir 🙏🏻
Thanks, but most of it, is bombastic libraries, i write ballads, anime, jcore, jpop, and more ballads....
Great guide, Kevin!! Very good job.
I would LOVE to see a video about how you go about making a full orchestral template. Even using the BBC Free Orchestra I get a little lost creating templates. But I feel like once I figure out a way that best suits me I would be opening up my DAW more often to write. And thanks for this great video 👍
Thanks for the full music production course! Came to learn more about composing and got a lot more!
Check out Soundpaint! It’s a plugin by the guy who does 8DIO Kontakt instruments. It’s a new engine for sample instruments and it’s fast and fun, and sounds excellent. It has unusual (very cool) tech for doing realistic articulations (he made Soundpaint because Kontakt couldn’t do what he wanted to do). Check out some videos of him playing their saxophone and solo string instruments, very impressive stuff. Also, the libraries are much more affordable than most. I barely even touch Kontakt these days.
Hey, love your video. One question not regarding arranging an ochestra. In your video editing how you made the sequence showing your DAW like filmed with a camera run? How did you do that? Is it aftereffects or in what programm you can make that effect?
It's a 3d camera plugin for Davinci Resolve
@ Vielen Dank!
What about an engineer who is new to specializing in Orchestra/scoring? Like, experienced and can write a score, but does not have a dedicated library?
Same imo
@KevinKuschel this is more helpful than it should be 😂😅
Such nice content on this channel. I find myself in the 1000$ section, and I absolutely had no clue about any of the bank you propose in the 3000$ section, except for AI Chorus that I own. But what holdsme back for the moment is as you mentioned, I like using a full orchestra livrary as it is working as a whole, and I feel easily overwhelmed by the FX and engineering I should do if I was using many different libraries together. I’m definitely diving into these references you shared anyway. Thank you !
I feel so grateful and lucky to have come across this video as a beginner. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and guidance! And yes, a video on how to organize templates would be absolutely tremendous!
The one thing that is missing on RUclips that none of u composers or sample library reviewers is you NEVER explain how to install these libraries properly. I’ve never struggled so hard to install them properly without getting errors like missing sound or find the folder etc. PLEASE MAKE A VIDEO ON HOW TO PROPERLY INSTALL THESE SAMPLE LIBRARIES!!!! Please!!!
