    I'm impressed. In only 13 minutes, you've managed to cover a lot of ground and you made it entertaining too! Very well done!!

    i wish this existed 2 yrs ago when i first looked into getting into orchestral composing. This is exactly what ppl need. I have bought so many things that just dont' blend or pair up with offset times , ect, ect... this is what ppl need. This is what i needed instead of buying CSS, CSB and all this other stuff. This should be the number 1 recommended library for beginners now

    Excellent review once again Kevin. As a _"The Orchestra Complete 3"_ owner I managed to pick this up for £299 (£100 off cross-grade offer). This offer is available until the 17th November (2023).
    I haven't had chance to play around with it yet (because it took a while to download where I am), but I have a long weekend off (Fri-Mon), so intend to familiarise myself with it then. 👍

      Just curious if you'd had a chance to use it? Is it buggy at all?

    • @sensumcommunem
      @sensumcommunem 9 месяцев назад

      @@turquisemintskyblueteal2401 I haven't noticed any bugs. To be honest I didn't get as long to play with it as I had hoped because I was mostly out visiting relatives, so most of my time spent with The Score was mainly around the inbuilt pre-sets.
      I am an FL Studio user (Windows 10, Intel i5, 8GB), and while people generally wrinkle their nose at this DAW (for cinematic/orchestral stuff), it works fine via Kontakt Player (I have version 7 of the Kontakt Player).
      I did not encounter any bugs, including the ones that people have reported with regards to mouse input and _"getting stuck"_ (these were some of the first things I checked once I had installed it).
      The intro/main1/main2/outro configurations are a great inclusion, and I hope that they expand *The Orchestra* to also include this feature in the future.
      I'm really happy with the purchase even though I've only scratched the surface thus far. I think the pre-sets will provide a great amount of inspiration, particularly when sketching out ideas.
      The fact that you can load each instrument individually, and extract the MIDI associated with that instrument from the pre-set, means that you can sketch out a basic idea via the pre-sets, and then extract and refine those sketches into a more personalised piece.

    Only thing that would be cool that I think would be extremely useful would be actual sheet music for the play section.

    I have Orchestrator by EW and although these type of tools are interesting i never feel like its doing exactly what I want. So then i end up spending all my time fixing things. All while realizing i could have just played it in myself at that point. It can be useful for inspiration but i rarely use it in the final mix.

    I disagree with the majority saying this is cheating/squanders innovation. I think that if you have enough music talent and imagination, you can use these as a stepping-stone and perhaps inspiration for great works. Just my opinion, though.

  • @troubadour1029
    @troubadour1029 9 месяцев назад +3

    In a sense, there would be no controversy and talks about cheating if the product only came with 2 or 3 examples and was sold as a tool to build your own preset from scratch (for a cheaper price). I know you can build your own presets from scratch with the current version but it comes with so many songs that it may feel like you don't have to. This great content may come as a negative, strangely.

    Even though it is good for sketches, sketches at all are a bad choice to be creative in an innovative and unique style, as well as developing your skills in harmony and composing.
    This just doesn't lead to inspiring (great) art, it is just functioning and for having fun for beginners or just playing around - so I pass.
    I haven't seen any great composers using this type of software and there is a reason for it.
    Just remember whenever you use this kind of software, there are thousands of people with the same results, so it is indeed copy and paste.
    Good review thanks. danke dir :)

    Kevin, not owning the library I would think that you can drag the midi and therefore use your own instruments afterwards ? If you could confirm that would be great. Many thanks.

    • @KevinKuschel
      @KevinKuschel  9 месяцев назад +1

      Hey, I show this at 6:54. You can see me dragging the MIDI into Studio One. It creates one track for each of The Score's instruments. I then load a piano sample library and play back the MIDI.
      So yes, you can export the MIDI from a preset in The Score and play it back with your own libraries.

    Let's say two people are composers and they both use this for actual paid jobs. They both select the same preset and make no changes and they play the exact same thing. How on earth would the copyright work? lol.

    • @MaxKusari
      @MaxKusari 9 месяцев назад +1

      most companies of samples, libraries or instruments are stating exactly this in there terms - that you are not allowed to resell it by itself or copyright it as your own.
      Of course, it happens alot and I also heard a looooot of presets in music, but thats always a risk...if this happens with a client of yours, you will be blacklisted and trust me, the community is smaller than we think. :D
      Best Practice: If you are not sure, change pitch, tempo or mask it with enough stuff, altering it enough.

      The advantage of the EW Hollywood Orchestra is that your sound sources are the Hollywood Orchestra, which is sounds a lot better than the one that comes in The Score... And that also provides you a deeply sampled Orchestra... The drawback is it, you'll need around 1TB to download it 😂😂😂
