Nice!
Cant wait for this to hit Live. Awesome.
Looks incredible!
FIRST Also HYPED for this!
THe best thing to avoid inflation in Star Citizen is to avoid overpayment of mobiglass missions. producers and haulers must be the baseline of the economy. if I, as a trader, can make 100k per hour. Maybe I can afford to hire 3 escort pilots at 10k each / hour. after I pay for fuel, landing costs, stevedores, insurance, and other misc cost. maybe I'm netting 40-50k/ hour. which I should since I'm risking so much in buying goods to sell elsewhere. and the lower risk players, like fighter pilots make 10k/ hour. but that ain't gonna work if the mobiglass is paying these guys 200k an hour "go out and kill someone" missions. make ships and missiles, even fuel EXPENSIVE. so the average player is saving for 6 months to buy a connie. earning money has to be a bit of a struggle. like the real world, for most of us. the US inflation is larrely due to the defacto DOUBLING of minimum, and other wages. money became too easy. What people don't understand is that money is a symbol of VALUE. and the stupid among us just want a big number. if you double the number on wages, pretty soon the number will double on prices. because the VALUE does not change
I hope it ends up that money is only vaguely useful and the real currency is reputation. Sure, you can buy that 'next big thing' at Astro Amada but it's never going to be as good as one you craft with blueprints that can't be bought with cash, only earned when your rep with the faction that owns it is high enough. .. It'll probably never happen but that's better than any money based economy imo.
Yes alGODrithm, yessSss.. MORE!!
The New players are not playing or not buy the game. Like my I just bout the game and two days later they broken my Aurora with the update, I wait politely and update comes again and the Aurora is still broken. Economy is just fine it doesn't seem to be a big worry as no one spends their money as there is nothing to buy..
My taxes is going to Ukraine
I know people think this is going to make the game less fun, but not removing money from circulation means things are just gonna get more and more expensive.
The government is testing out space taxation with simulation.
I've been waiting to file my income taxes in game.
Sorry guys, but this game is becoming more and more realistic, i already have to work literaly for a low wage, so paying taxes bruu, what next, will they put a hobo gameplay...
Just inject all that money in my economy, pls😅😢😂😊
This crap dosnt need to be in a video game. They already have gold seller sites for this game which is going to ruin this experince for every one.
Don't forget to fill out your I-9040 B form in triplicate or you'll have your ship impounded.
Alternate title for the video: "How to make the game even less fun!"
None of this sounds fun.
Maybe you're just too much fun.
death & taxes.....perfect name for an org x)
Screw CIG. Star Citizen 1.0 is NEVER going to be released. Just buy your aEUCs from an MMO broker. Problem solved.
If I pay taxes, can I get my ship De-nerfed? Also, what qualifies as a lot of credits, because I am not buying lots of ships and toys like a high roller?
The worry i have about the economy is ship purchases. When ship crafting and the player market comes into play that will help some, but im worried CIG will make it so hard to save up credits to buy a ship that can make you real money(salvage in current patch but obviously subject to change) will create a massive divide between the players that already own one of those ships and the ones that are struggling for dozens of hours just to get access to a way to make more efficiently so they can actually start saving for the ship they want. CIG says they dont want players to have too much money hoarded up, but i wonder how im ever supposed to afford a large ship purchase if even the act of earning money costs so much money that my end of day profits are so small. Starting to get a little too close to my own struggle of purchasing a home😅
Our government is a great place of reference if your goal is to keep the population poor.
I really liked this CitizenCon, cant wait for the next one. Loved the Pannels, the Boths, the event in general. I watched it from home and it was awesome.

Any "Anti Cheat" that runs in Ring-0 is off-limits on my systems and network. I do not allow unfettered access to my system in the name of "catching cheaters". There are FAR more effective means than kernel level MALWARE. Yes, EAC and BattlEye are, in fact, malware. There is ZERO need to run anti-cheat in Ring-0. Valve's Anti-Cheat is a perfect example of how to do it right. It does not run at the kernel level. It does not have unfettered access to the entire system and it does not result in kernel faults, taking down the entire system, nor does it result in an extreme performance hit. EAC does all of those things. So does BattlEye and any other malware that runs in Ring-0. I'm also a casual security research guy. I like to know how things work and what they're doing, which means I have tons of software that malware like EAC actively scans for, whether running or not. I've had EAC before, it inevitably "triggered" simply because of such software being PRESENT, not actively IN USE. I HAVE had such software running while prodding some other piece of software while playing a game to pass the time while it did its thing and had EAC trigger as well, even though the game memory was in no way being touched. I'm sorry, but I won't support the use of such malware in the name of "catching cheaters", especially when it's been shown to be ineffective against all but the most basic of cheaters. I have always openly admitted that I am a single-player game cheater. Big time. Once I beat a game normally, I like to go back and push it to various limits through cheating, often just to see what I can do or unlock things that I just didn't think were worth the effort on a normal play through (like, say, gear that would have taken dozens if not hundreds of hours to grind for). It's fun, but never once have I ever cheated in an online multiplayer game. I don't understand people that do... It's not fun. For anyone. Those who cheat in multiplayer games just need to make better choices in life in general. They're just sad. I'll cheat in a single-player game in a heartbeat, but there's no fun to be had when you're playing against other real players in my opinion. Not for me, at least. If someone beats the pants off of me in a multi-player game (without cheating), then congrats! GG! I simply try to improve and be a better player, that's fun. If I would have to cheat to beat someone else... Then the "victory" is no victory at all and rings hollow. Those who cheat in multi-player games I feel are the kind of folks that are likely to try to cheat in real life, too. The kind of people that look for and try to exploit things like the so-called "Infinite Money Glitch". Those aren't the kind of folks I wouldn't even want to associate with in the first place. My own so-called "sibling" is one such person. I don't associate with that thief either. There are simply far better anti-cheat methods that don't require Ring-0 malware. Shame on CIG for forcing this on us.
I've always hated the UI in this game, granted it has gotten a little bit better in time, but i would have completely trashed the existing one and build something new from the ground up. This game's menus and UI are sometimes straight up hostile. The interface we use is a mouse and a keyboard, we don't need to pretend it's something else, so therefore, give me shortcuts, give me a snappy responsive menu, give me quick navigation keys on my keyboard, don';t make me have to click click click every single thing! Yeah it "looks" cool, but inneficient design is bad design imo, no matter how "hardcore" or "realistic" you think it is.
Of course there is going to be a god damn divide between how many crew and management people you need for big ships and big player bases, and how many players actually want to do those jobs, and a HUGE one at that, seeing as how they implement most game systems to be a tedium simulator.... I fully expect that, on release, some shit's gonna be so tedious most casual people will deliberately not engage with certain systems/zones, and won't be buying certain ships because it's too damn tedious to own, it has crazy maintenance or you need like a 200-man org flying in a fleet, in order to "be effective" with that particular feature/ship.... Who wants to carry cargo from point A to point B for half the hours of the play session? And not even ship hauling, nah fam, i mean PHYSICALLY getting 1 crate, putting it over there, getting another one, putting it over there.... (Again, why is this a thing... in a game?)
Oh yes, I want to spend 45 USD to be a radar operator, hangar bay worker and ATLS cargo operator. 24/7. I do want a second job in my gaming life, because i cant stop being soo productive, my normal 9-5 is not enough for me.
Financial Tedium Simulator
Shouldn't they disclose all this warranty stuff on their site? Like make it very very clear what you are buying on each game package/ship on the pledge store? They mention the insurance but nothing about warranty.
Cargo insurance makes no sense, that won't be a thing. If you get your cargo back every time you blow up, there would be no incentive for Pirates to kill you for your cargo...
So the insurance system works currently from the moment I launch the game in its alpha status? Or when the game is at v1 launch?
The features I talked about in the video are expected in the 1.0 launch, but there is no telling if they start introducing it sooner than that
@@TheSpaceCoder So right now i have infinite free insurance right? Just pledged the game with a package and i have no clue how this works
Yes. For now (while the game is in alpha) your ship has infinite insurance. Once the new insurance features are in (presumably 1.0) your ship will have insurance according to the pledge, it will say how much insurance in your hangar on the website. And the ship will have unlimited warranty
What is your source of information about bound to account? AFAIK cash purchases from the pledge store come with warranty and are giftable to other accounts.
You are correct. Cash purchases come with warranty. And (with exceptions) can be gifted to other accounts with the warranty. In the video I meant that the ship is attributed to the account rather than the character meaning that whatever happens to your character doesn’t impact the ship
The different ship insurance was announced during the kickstarter. Originally though LTi covered chasis and base componenets as well. The only real difference is there was cargo insurance not decoration insurance. You were always supposed to buy add-on insurance, that is not new at all.
Hmmm so "originally LTI covered chasis and base components", well that's what the level 1 insurance covers, which every ship with LTI gets, right? So what is the difference?
Crazy good explanation for a complex system
... The amount of times the hanger doesn't recognize my ship is landed, or "Destroyed" after logging out, makes me think this is awful, but at least it's not till 1.0 in 30 years.
Even at 2x the narration is super slow
I agree. It is very complicated. I can imagine how complicated it will be to actually implement it for the devs.
Appreciate the video, although I already grasped the concept 😊
I'm disappointed there is cover for decorations and stuff on the ship inventory. Cargo I could understand. But it kind of feels like they are taking all the risk out of the game. We have totally safe spaces in bases to display all the very cool & rare stuff. Having anything of real rarity/value in your ship should be a massive flex & it can't be if it's always recoverable. I really worry that there will be no rarity in the game.
im worried that they are killing the games player market. 2 years from 1.0 release no player will be buying ship parts, decorations or ships cause they can just get them back. This a big spit in the face to crafters.
Warranties will not be provided to ships bought/built in game at all. You will only be able to earn the transferable warranty. They specifically mentioned that warranties will be rare in game.
Which kind of creates and advantage for website bought ships. They told us not to worry about LTI, and they were sort of right. But they never mentioned warranty, which is the real kicker. Transferable warranties being "rare" ingame means that they´re limiting the rate at which you can secure your ingame bought/created ships and they want to take out money by limiting ships to only have insurance, which only gives a pay out and will almost always require you to chime in with your savings to rebuy the lost ship. This is similar to E:D were the motto "never fly without rebuy" is the golden rule.
@@BestShifty Shady shit. Also imagine making rare items that players want to get and grind for..... a financial instrument :))))) Like instead of saying "oh i'm grinding for the rare coilgun X cannon module" or a really rare ship or blueprint etc., nah, you say "oh im grinding for warranty for my 17th ship"... bruh that sounds tedious AND boring.... like you are made to grind for something in-game, just to be able to play the game a little bit more relaxed, because now you can recover your stuff... ew. This would be equivalent to something like if in WoW, you get a new best in slot weapon or piece of gear, but then you still have to grind with the old gear, to get "warranty" for your new piece of gear, before you can safely play with it, because if you die without warranty, you lose it forever :))))) Rinse and repeat for every new piece of gear. BRUH. (And you do die a lot in WoW).
T3 Insurance does not cover anything other than flair, ie. skins, cockpit decorations and whatever other flair that might be implemented. CIG has gone on record about item insurance (including cargo) but that would be a seperate insurance. They havent figured out exaclty how they plan to implement item insurance yet.
With the amount of ways CIG has concocted to waste players' time, I can only assume they are waiting for the right moment to unveil in-game advertising to fund this venture going forward, and the shuttle service will ferry you to your destination in a cocoon of unskippable RUclips interstitials permanently stuck at 1000% volume. Unless you pay a monthly real money subscription for the in-game Adblock for mobiGlas, an official Microtech product.
I can already predict the chats of the future. "Please no, don't blow my Idris, I don't have a warranty!"
“Sergeant… Fire when ready.”
@@vulcan4d 🤣🤣🤣
@@HDA_III with plesure sire :) phasers, torpedoes locked on
Very simple updates.
OK.... What I need to know....my LTI ships only give me level 1 insurance? If a bought ship gives you permanent warranty which covers the ship. What is the point of LTI?
The point of LTI is that you don’t have to pay for the base level insurance at all. Which will be the most expensive part of insurance. The add on levels will be less expensive by comparison.
@@JasonGranzow OK.... So if you bought a ship from the pledge store with only 6months insurance.... And for example 6months is gone.... You are still going to get your ship back as its paid for with real cash... So.... What is the value of LTI if you will always get your ship Back if paid for with real money regardless of the insurance length...?.?
@@thegamingtribunal if your 6 month insurance runs out you will then have to pay for additional insurance in game or pay a fee to get your ship back. You won’t have to do that at all with LTI. You’ll always be able to get at least a stock ship back
@@thegamingtribunal I'll give an example here to hopefully clear this up, but keep in mind, later in my example there's a part I speculate on: So with LTI, you'll have tier 1 insurance forever. Now with specific insurance lengths, you'll also have tier 1 insurance but after they expire, you'll need to purchase tier 1 to be covered. Now, were you to be foolish and fly the verse, and lose your PLEDGED ship WITHOUT insurance, say after your 6 month insurance ran out, (and I'm speculating on this next part) then you'd have to purchase the tier 1 insurance for that pledged ship from which point you'd be able to claim it again. If you had an in-game ship destroyed that didn't have insurance, you'll have to grind again to get it. Anyway, the warranty portion allows for you to recover the entire stock ship instead of only the "book" value. If you were only given the current value in credits, based on age, damage, and who knows what else might factor into making a ship degraded, then what you get back may not be enough to re-buy the ship outright without adding credits. Hope that helps 🤷🏻♂️

The shuttle idea is so lame imo. It is just wasted time, and another major issue is dying. CIG cannot do AI. They are just terrible at it. Do you want an AI shuttle taking you back to the place you last died 😅 possibly a dangerous area. Thanks for the good video. I enjoyed it.
The shuttle service would be more like a loner car. You fly the shuttle to your ship and just leave the loaner shuttle there. No AI involved
I think a lot of their issues with AI atm are the fact their servers run at 1-5 fps most of the time. If you get a low player server with 20-30 fps the AI is a lot more capable. But also yea as @JasonGranzow said you will pick up a ship and fly it there yourself, and then it will return on its own.
I'm an indie dev specializing in unreal engine, I'd personally love to see you do a video building a rudimentary system based upon this. I have my own ideas on going about it, but additional perspective is always nice.
Glad youre making explanation vids! The insurance thing took me a longer than id like to admit to wrap my head around, but just made me consider my pledge ships in an all new way and make me grateful for IAE 10 year😂
